I've been thinking lately that the reason Kep1er's songs stick in my mind and make me want to listen to them again and again, even without any strong gimmicks, is probably because of the quality of the voices of the people at these top4. 　I personally like moving belters like Morisetto Amom, Joni Mitchell's fresh voice in her youth and her deep husky voice in later years, Jewel's seamlessly changing many voice, and bossa nova like Ono Lisa, but Kep1er's idol songs somehow feel warm.🤗 　Many other K-pop groups make a lot of stimulating singing along with their fierce dance, which make me tired. I'm sure it's powerful and fun to shout at them live stages, but I don't feel like listening to the music over and over again. Recently, Ditto and Perfect Night is wonderful but if we listen to the songs alone, I feel like they belong in the category of R&B or Quiet Storm rather than idol songs. I think Kep1er has achieved a comfortable expression while maintaining the characteristics of a K-pop idol. Even the catchy "Wa da da" doesn't feel insistent. Mashiro's voice at the beginning, Youngeun's not noisy middle high, Yeseo's unique and rare vocal technique, and Chaehyun's high, smooth voice that is neither falsetto nor belting. These all work well together to create a lively but not too vivid taste. Especially about Yeseo's voice, even though this type of making voice have the risk of becoming unstable or lacking agility when shifting registers,it somehow fits the song perfectly and exudes a rounded feel. This may have something to do with the fact that she gained experience as a child actor from a very young age.👶 　When they all sing in unison, the pitch is perfectly in tune but without becoming too thick, and even when they yell like cheerleaders, it doesn't become noisy. When they're on variety shows (like the recent "Sore Snow") or playing games at their web contents , they have revelry, gaiety and laughing out loud🤣but strangely, it doesn't feel noisy. Why? Maybe while living all members with these four people, each of them has unconsciously started to apply limiters and compressors to their voice quality and frequency? (This is just a hypothesis) And I feel the final form of that be "Shooting Star." Even if we don't know the short fate that awaits them, it brings tears to oure eyes.😭
