My cheap go-anywhere Forester build continues with the installation of a 2" Lift Kit from HRG Offroad. After successfully repairing all the issues with the car and getting it re-registered, it's time to indulge in some mods - and I'm starting with possibly the most defining one on the list. The installation process in this video is virtually identical to most other Subaru models out there, so any Boxer owner should be able to easily follow along. Unless it's a Porsche, then I can't help you.

The storage method for my work van was in desperate need of a refresh, so I started from scratch by building this easily removable storage caddy. It fits everything I need on a daily basis, while also organising and securing everything so it doesn't slide around when driving. There's still a few finishing touches to be made in the near future, but it's a massive improvement nonetheless.

It is always better to bring the exhaust out of two smaller pipes rather than one larger one. It contributes to reducing the humming sound.

hey mate! how did you end up properly finding the correct temperature for the exhaust (in the second attempt), rough calculations show it's not a massive change in size for my car at least (drops from 85 to 77cm) would be curious to know how you found it out accurately! Cheers
Hey man, I thought I showed it in the video but I’m pretty sure I just used my temperature gun on the finished setup, measuring a few places on the J pipe and then taking the average. From memory the very end of the J pipe was only 40°C or so

You can get it back apart yeah, there’s a spot in the video where I had that situation
Where did you find the bearings?
Amazon, eBay or if you want something higher quality you can go to a bearing specialist. But they are a very standard size used all over the world for tons of different things

How do you clean off the tire shine if you want to reapply?
Any wheel degreaser will do the job - it’s not great for your paint but if you’re doing what I did here then that’s irrelevant 🤪

Different kit for cars with factory Xenon, I think it’s about €20 difference from memory

Great video. Just our wrap in yesterday. And yeah the fabric does have odor when opening the package. What as weird ours got delivered by Amazon.. We got their black Alcantara to go with the ebony black interior on our tahoe (suv) in Arizona. But our upper panels came in the ugly tan I hate I painted my front A pillars in duplicolor fabric paint and it came out great. The Alcantara is going on the other upper panels in the back to give it a more darker interior.

Stuff could definitely be utilized for sure. I think it could be cool to add a texture beneath it like diamonds or something in some places. Maybe multi color too if done tastefully. Need to come up with something for the seams that can’t be tucked away though. Good job on your project dude!
I hung up my climate control module with piezo from lighters. Don't try!!!! I was lucky to reset it with just pulling out fuses Nr.9 and Nr.20. Everything is ok now.😅
Did you use a high-temperature paint and if not did you have any issue with it bubbling from the heat etc?
I used a paint called Dulux Hammered Finish, it doesn’t have any detail about temperature range but a couple months before painting the headlight shroud I used it on my brake calipers and have had no issues with it so I figured it would be fine. No bubbling problems with either 👍
Why do you call it a wind screen? It's not a screen. Screens filter. It's a shield because it's solid glass that shields the wind
Just the common term in Australia / UK. To be technical it does actually filter out heat with low effectiveness, sound with strong effectiveness, UV with about 99% effectiveness, and obviously 100% of wind
