This story is missing the ... WHY? Why dose any of this happen?

Pettiness, resentment and perceived grievance are no excuse for going to war. “Give a man a hammer and everything looks like a nail.” Build a fleet designed for conquest and someone will want to conquer others. What happened to respect? Respecting the rights of others? Respecting their sovereignty? Where is the dignity in attacking innocent populations?
