    Have you done a camping trip in your Axis yet? I'm considering getting one, and interested to know how you got on!

    • @dirtbikeadv
      @dirtbikeadv 5 месяцев назад

      Hi Clare, Yes I have done a couple camping trips in the Axis now and it works really good. The trip I am talking about in the video I did and only went a third of the way the water was way too low. I didn't take the wheels in the end so there was a lot of dragging the kayak in the shallows. There is not a ton of room in them so you definitely have to travel light. I stuffed the tent and sleep bag up in the bow and the rest of my gear under the hatch. Looks like a lot of room but it does get a bit tight. Some observations from a beginner, they are a bit of a handful in the rapids a little slow to turn and cumbersome. If you are planning doing a lot of rapids maybe consider the Dagger Katana which has a bit more rocker. Secondly they are a bit difficult to get in and out of it you don't have a shallow bank to pull up to. Thirdly I would consider this model much closer to a touring kayak than a crossover as they are quite quick across the water so you can cover a lot of ground pretty quickly. If your thinking of purchasing one always consider your own weight. I am a 100kg bloke so if you are a lot lighter you can go for a smaller kayak. It's the same for motorbikes start with what you weigh. Hope this helps Regards Steve :)

      @ClareGilliam 5 месяцев назад

      @@dirtbikeadv Thanks Steve! Really helpful. I've had a demo paddle in the Axis and it felt very "right" for me. I won't be doing a lot of rapids. I'm also happy to travel light. I've got the chance to buy one at a good price so think I'll just go for it! 😊

    • @oafadv
      @oafadv 10 месяцев назад

      Yep I have sold the Beta but for one reason only. I travel huge distances on some of my trips like 800 KMs in a day so an enduro bike is not really suitable for big KMs. I went to a two bike set up an adventure bike for the big trips and a stock enduro bike with a larger tank. My current enduro bike is a Sherco 500. Those Beta's are excellent bikes and are bullet proof they make great dual sport bikes. Thanks for watching Regards Steve
