please get a guardian dog, the cat is not as strong, as fast, and its not as smart as a coyote either. Kudos to the cat for sticking her ground but the Coyote will kill it eventually.

I live on a cul-de-ssc. On our neighborhood you can only havf 4 hens. We have neighbors from another country, and they have roosters, turkeys, geese and ducks. Wonder why they can have them. I called the city and they didn't do anything about it. So we have to listen to the racket by these animals. Guess Florida is biased.

You still need a big dog or even medium size dog to protect your cat and other farm animals.

That was one tough cat. When the coyote is one on one and sees that it will be a struggle, usually it backs off because a big male tom cat could scratch the shit out of that coyotes face and very possibly BLIND it.

There's many cats on RUclips that run off and fight coyotes. One cat fights 3 coyotes and runs them off. Cats run pit bulls away after they attack a child. Ppl are suprised when their dog attacks a cat and the cat plucks the dogs eye out.

Why can't people accept that it is possible for cats to kill a coyote. I know this one is particular looks like he would be ready to bite or scratch out that coyotes eyes something cats love to target. I can agree that most of the time a coyote would probably win. But you clicked on a video of a cat chasing one off just enjoy the fact it won instead of being all "Man that was dangerous cat could have been killed" we get it. Now show some respect to this badass cat.

lmao, I don't think people realize that house cats are as small as they are for a reason. If they were bred to be even slightly larger they'd be extremely dangerous animals. House cats already murder more wildlife than any other animals, and that's with them being as small as they are. Felines outclass just about any animal physically in every possible way of similar size, hence why they're typically the apex predators of their respective environments. With very few exceptions, a house cat vs a large coyote for example would likely end in the coyote winning in the end but it would not be an easy fight for the coyote. It would come out of it heavily scratched and bleeding at the very least and that's if it even manages to catch a cat. A cat could likely escape in most situations against any single coyote.

Coyotes have learned to trick dogs into chasing them and with help from other coyotes killing and eating the dogs. I wonder if this was what the coyotes was trying to do with the cat.

Not wise, a young coyote might run off vs a cat, but a cat is no match for a coyote.

Well, it looks like it's not a big coyote. And a meal that can put up of a fight isn't worth it for a coyote. In my area many coyotes are just about 20lbs but in other areas, they seem to get 30-50lbs which wouldn't hesitate on this cat. Or that was just a huge cat!

That cat is wayyyy too big for a single coyote! He would need to call his homies lol…if a cat and canine are relatively close in size a cat is gonna 9/10 times.
