Beautiful and chubby captive bred Majestic Angelfish juveniles love to eat Easy Reefs DKI pellets Before captive breeding efforts, it was unusual for wild caught Majestic angelfish to enter the aquarium trade in their juvenile coloration because this species transitions to adult coloration at a smaller size on average than its other Pomacanthus cousins. Historically, that meant that most hobbyi...

I spy a milletseed in there :)
Good eye!
How is yours doing?
I had no idea these were being bred. Any plans to breed copperband butterflies? That would be a great advancement to the hobby.
We aren't working with Copperbands yet, but it's definitely a possibility for the future. This species has been aquacultured, but isn't yet available in commercial numbers. Check this out: www.risingtideconservation.org/uf-ifas-irrec-successfully-aquacultures-the-copperband-butterflyfish-chelmon-rostratus/
@@feliciabiota thanks! I hope you guys can eventually provide copperbands and moorish idols, for obvious reasons.
Lovely lunulas
The have nothing in their tank. Very sad
Hi, Jessica, we do keep hides in their tank normally, but for filming we have to remove them so you can see the fish. When held in a facility, it's important that the tanks are easy to clean, so they're not held in a tank with sand or rock that can harbor bacteria. We have marine biologists on staff making strict biosecurity and husbandry policies caring for the fish.
cool
fish food🤣
cool
Cute fish
Cute fish
First and it’s so cute!
What are they eating
They'll eat just about any prepared aquarium foods. Right now, they like Easy Reefs DKI pellets, Masstick, and frozen food blends.

cool
Beautiful fish... its great to watch them slowly transform to juvenile colors in my tank... the orange on the blue is so pretty
They transition quickly too, when I got mine he was only 3.5inches and already full adult colour. Now he’s 7 inches and looks amazing.
beautiful fish. And they grow rapidly too in the first 6 months... mines just developed the blue lips and blue outlines around the fins..
Any misbar in this batch?
There were a few misbars in this batch, but they're not extreme misbars.
@@feliciabiota how often do you get extreme misbar?
@@gusvega6355 Captive bred fish tend to lose the misbar patterns once the species is well established in aquaculture, so we see them less often. You may request a particular pattern at checkout, and we'll do our best to accommodate your request. Since this fish has so much pattern variation, we aren't able to guarantee the color or pattern during any lifestage.
This man isn't in water he's in zero gravity😂
Looks great. And fun! Do one or two scuba dives in the morning then go hand pick a few corals! Keep up the great work!
Ive bought regal, multibar and majestic angels from biota. The regal and multibar have been tiny, like the size of a fingernail. They are hard to raise and come with unique care requirements The majestic was much bigger (will still look small compared to anything in LFS) but was at least an inch The majestic will not be too difficult
The Regal and Multibar in general are difficult species, but they're raised on pellet and frozen foods, which gives them a major advantage over wild caught. They are small, but they do best in a very mature, stable tank with lots of grazing. They have a very fast metabolism at this age, so they need feedings 3 - 5 x a day
Amazing job
👍🏻 👍🏻
Comgratulations! Regards from México
❤❤❤❤
The angels I have bought from Biota are usually about 1 inc. Maybe 1 1/2 if lucky. Beautiful and healthy though.
How big are juvenile specimens ready for sale ?
"I'm looking for Jenny and Charlie"
I spotted one Milletseed in that group! Great work.
Lovely to see them back!
They look great. Two of my favorite corals are from Biota :) Same with my favorite fish the Milletseed. Keep up the great work Team Biota!
amazing.......love this fish .....I had one lemon peel in early 90´s.....nice to see them thrive in captivity....good job.......
how beautiful and wonderful it is ❤😢😊
A year later and the content is still amazing. Good talk about the ph and ammonia. Stay amazing!
Do you need pods for a biota mandarin or is feeding enough?
They don't require pods, but they will eat them. Here's an article with detailed feeding information: shop.thebiotagroup.com/blogs/news/how-to-feed-biota-captive-bred-mandarin-fish
This is the first time I witnessed a mandarin fish ate flake food. Amazing !
Jake Adams from ReefBuilders also posted a video of his Biota mandarin eating flakes, as well, a few years ago. reefbuilders.com/2017/03/22/biotas-captive-bred-mandarins-caught-eating-flake-food/
Jesus Christ Saves Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is returning very soon, and is the reason for all of the things that are happening on the Earth right now. This planet is on borrowed time. Jesus Christ died on a cross, was buried in a tomb, and rose from the dead 3 days later, to pay for the sins of mankind, to give us eternal life and forgiveness from God. EXACTLY how to be Saved by Jesus Christ, the Son of God: 1. Confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord. 2. Believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Biblical References: 1. Romans 5:9 2. Romans 3:23 3. Romans 6:23 4. Romans 10:9 5. Romans 10:13 6. Ephesians 2: 8 & 9 7. John 3:16 God bless you, peace be with you always. Thank you for your time.
Its a beautiful fish 🐟 very hard to believe it a cb one but great good job i would've thought it was a real Hawaiian one do not sead call good job 👏
Check out Fruitloops owner's page @reef2runes on Instagram for more details. Fruitloop was bred and raised at Biota Hawaii in 2022, and @reefs2runes ordered the tang directly from our website. Biota Yellow Tangs are genetically identical to their wild cousins.
hey Felicia..what about the Acanthurus genus....do you breed them...like A. leucosternum...A. nigricans...or A. japonicus....???
Those are on our list of species we would like to someday add to our catalog. Public support for the species we have available today will allow us to expand and offer more of your favorite species in the future.
Those are beautiful fish😮😮😮
Went through a 5-second ad for this
Dory
Thanks for sharing. That is one of the cool things about buying captive bred fish. You get to see them mature which may include color change or female to male transformation. Very cool and a often overlooked bonus. Keep up the great work.
Love these cuties!
I want two pair! 😛
You’ll need a pretty big tank for two pairs xD I’d go with one pair.

there is so much magic and beauty in this video its insane that only a very niche amount of people actually recognize and appreciate this kind of stuff.<3
Gosh, what an awesome comment. I'll share this with the teams! We appreciate you <3
@@feliciabiota please do! I’m glad I can support you guys with kind words and love!
Beautiful but honestly, that looks too beautiful to be a captive bred one but wonderful if it is

I’m a big fan of these on your website, could I ask for pictures so as to get a WYSIWYG pair?
