Quick save is glitchy in this game, from Debug Joe to this. Maybe we can use this to get dark magic while saving the lizardman? Pre-req: Have never entered the Sewers before from the Castle Side. Probable Reasoning: Due to the game/save not having knowledge of the sewers, the game auto selects this particular spot as the origin point. The Mobelm one has no real use, I guess? Grinded a lot to overpower them. You want Hasten Time and light wall to survive their attacks, or a lot of MDEF and Willguards, the version gives 40% to fully negate damage with a block and when you guard you double that amount. You can farm Willguards from the 3rd floor of the final dungeon, just turn to your left and take down the angels. My game glitched and I couldn't unlock dark magic T.T ...

Extremely easy, not much to worry about him anymore because I'm super buffed now. He ended up being my final hero because I wanted to recruit the divers. I did and will do some grinding on the side because I want to play with the divers.

Note to self: Don't fight enraged Noel again. Boy he's the strongest out of all the heroes if you take out Roc first. He uses sword techs and fire magic, and you can't have sword barrier and fire wall up together so he's going to hit HARD. I had to just do MASSIVE damage asap before he takes me out, that was my game plan because I am barely able to take a hit from him even with fire resistant g...

Cocoa is everywhere!!! She's an insane tank w/ insane healing, makes it a pain to go up against her every match but it's better than Gloria, Simona, or Inanna. This is the last 4 matches of mine, that didn't have the other person on auto. I have a fifth match, but they just autoed to get the fight over with and get the rewards. Is it worth it to have this defense? Not really since you don't lose anything for losing. If everyone just goes with the 1-unit defense, then Arena would be insanely easy and fast... but it's fun to have stuff like this. Faycal Alert build isn't really good, but it's fun to watch!

Do you get an ultimate weapon if you beat her in 7 turns or less or do you get only the ability regardless?
@@yoyoslack27tt27 you just get an ability for the difficulty, ex romancing gives no bp cost. So no need to worry about turns, I think
I just beat her in exactly 7 turns on hard mode and just got an ability No gear,weapons or anything fancy dropped

@@mcburn344 Eventually, but testing out stuff ATM. Quicksave glitch and trying to see if I can get Diviner through generation transition. So far no luck on Diviner/Salamander.
So Dantarg have all his forms in this game the one I fought his first form and his second form during phase 2 looking at your video you fought in his second form first then his third form which he has no arms kind of creepy
@@Datgamer idk how it works in this version, but he lacks the lance and shield which is his final form iirc. His first form has hair and no horn. Idk if it's based on HP or if you have to fight him in x order, but highly likely to see his final form if he was the final hero, which I was trying to aim for but it didn't work out that way.
Can you tell me the best way to grind levels for magic based characters?
Fusion/Combo magic. Say you want to use the Nereid who has natural water magic proficiency. You can use a level 0/0 Light w/ Earth or Wind magic and she'll have the two magic category leveled up for the Nereid class line while also having water naturally leveled through Universal TP, but you'll have to do a generational switch. Of course, if you just want to level a magic school in general, just spam the magic. Do note, if you off a character, their magic might not transfer over. I offed my archer and his 20/20 Light/Earth rank didn't transfer over normally like with a generational switch, but he did have level 0 w/ 99/100 for the TP in those categories though Often times you'll see yourself using 2 weapon types per normal battle, therefore using a combo spell does lighten that load a bit and allows you to level 3 weapon types, two magic school from the combo spell and one weapon or another magic school. If the leveling system is still similar to the original, IIRC, then it'll be participation EXP for using a type and then small bonus points for spamming said type.

Enemies not dying in one hit is probably a huge factor in that. Therese dying so much is a change of pace here haha. We won't know how hard it actually is until we fight the other seven heroes, or the Termite Queen.
@@numenume3079 In the original most enemies won’t die in one hit from normal attack. The hard part in remake is that Kzinssie can one shot kill the front tank if he does not parry, and often can one shot light infantry and female ranger. This fight in the original was much easier.
@@armnakornthab6867 Early on they do, from memory anyways. The bosses will be harder, hopefully, due to the new mechanics but If you swap out your whole team it shouldn't be hard to deal with Kzinssie. IDK why, but in the demo it seems the reserved members gain WAY more HP and BP compared to your in party. A trained Aries, water mage, will have less BP than one you grab later, for some reason. I was 31 w/ trained vs 42 benched for BP. So as mechanics get figured out, we'll be able to determine how hard early bosses will be. My Liza, fem light infantry, had more HP and BP than Bear, the tank, like 3x more BP and 10 more HP, so the mechanics are kind of weird atm.
@@numenume3079 I just finished RS2 on iOS few months ago and from my memory there were only few monsters that die in one hit from a normal attack. By the way, I think gameplay is kinda problematic. The praise goes to the graphics and cinematics, which naturally need to evolve with the times. These are my complaints: 1. Assigning commands one by one makes the combat feel less fluid (or maybe it’s because I’m not used to it since I grew up with games where you assign commands to all characters first). 2. There’s also an order telling you who will attack first, which is odd. For example, in two turns, two of our characters will go, and then it’ll be the enemy's turn. 3. Almost 90% of enemies you can easily perform a suprised Attack (which not only lets you attack first but also reduces the HP of all enemies by about 1/6). This can be done simply by running towards the enemy to make them chase you. After a while, they’ll return to their position, and if you time it right, you can chase after them and attack first (the first RS game, Minstrel Song on PS2, wasn’t this dumb). Sometimes, the game has to manipulate the camera angle so the enemy can ambush you. 4. The Glimmer system seems to generate new moves, though not as completely random as before. I tried starting with martial arts attacks to unlock a healing move, and every character doing this got the same move as their first new skill after a normal punch. Additionally, there’s a lightbulb icon in the command window, guiding you on which type of attack has a chance to generate a new move. (And I’m playing on the hardest difficulty.). Having lightbulb maybe nice for adjusting to new players, but doing the same thing and get the same moves in the same order, e.g. way to focus always come before kick for any characters? This seems odd. 5. The hardest difficulty claims to be equivalent to the original game. Wow, I’ve played the original many times and, despite some complaints that make it seem easier, this is way harder than the original. In the first battle with Kzinssie, which you’re supposed to lose, I lost with a Game Over. Never did I struggle with this fight before in the original. 6. The 3D environment doesn’t make treasure chests as visible as in Final Fantasy games, so it’s harder to collect everything. 7. Talking to characters in town should be done like Final Fantasy 7 Remake, where just walking past NPCs triggers speaking voices. But there is no speaking voice for general NPCs. Not sure if it’s because of the larger scale of this game. In conclusion, the combat system in the original version feels more fun (even the first RS Remake was more fluid). Or you might get used to it after playing for a while. I think this is a core mechanic of the game, and the full version likely won’t change much from the demo. Plus, you can carry over your demo save to the full game. I will preorder it anyway as I am a big fan of this game, but I do prefer the original’s gameplay.
@@armnakornthab6867 1. Yeah it's to bring the game more to scale with newer games, DQ did the same with 11, except if you go into 2d mode. I do enjoy how SaGa has been doing things, but this is the Mana team so things are going to be changed somewhat sadly. Will have to wait for Kawazu to get a budget for the next main line SaGa entry to see if things will change or go back to the original way. 2. Scarlet Grace and Emerald does the order thing, but better imo. Makes it so you don't have to remember, so a QoL, but also plays into the new super moves so you get a chance to react. A change in gameplay, but at the moment idk if it's for the better or worse. 3. Yeah not too happy with the easy surprise attack, but some enemies have ways to get you like the bull charge. Will have to see how speedrunners deal with it. It's good to get a bonus for a preempt attack, but I feel like the hp is kind of a bit much atm but as usual we'll have to wait to see what the rest of the game has in store. Early on, it's easy enough to breeze through to not have the need to surprise attack. 4. Hopefully they have it so your normal attack will often, if not always, spark anything. We can't get far enough to see how the Glimmer mechanic got rework, but yeah I prefer the randomness of what SaGa usually provides to static chances. 5. I think this version will want you to fight more, but I'm not sure. If the bosses don't scale, like the original, then you just need to up your stats more, but if they do get stronger, not new forms but stats up, then this does indicate for a more fun difficulty for us who have played the original. 6. 3D environement is fine, for a not super big budget game. With gathering points and chest, we get to peruse a bit but not struggle hard to find one chest or something. I'd rather they not focus too much on the environment like the newer FFs, due to cost. 7. Sadly, again, probably not given a lot of budget to get everything voiced. If they went with the Chat Bubbles like Xenoblade, that'd probably be the best route, but could be in for the next remake, 3, if this one does well. A lot of SQX IPs could benefit with a bigger budget, if only they'd stop their NFT shenanigans and allocate those funds to all the other games. FF14 suffered from this recently with the bad Voice Direction. Yeah the older, original, games tend to just have things that you grew to like and prefer more, but they gotta make it so it appeals to more people. Hopefully it gets better, especially since apparently classes get personal skills, so don't worry about it not evolving. Best we can hope for is that the game does well, listen to some feedback, and we get a better version of 3 to learn from this game.

Why the freak is this boss so hard? The whole rest of the game is child’s play and this is my third character. It reminds me of old school games with unfair difficulty spikes and it’s so stupid. Why would any play this? I freaking love it
On my second run around, bringing everything over and playing all other chars, this boss is INSANELY hard. I think it's a boss that requires planning ahead, especially with high BR but that is a part of the fun you get from it.
@@numenume3079 I know. If my sarcasm didn’t shine through, I love these moments. I haven’t done it yet, but I’m chipping away and getting closer. There’s no beating the feeling you get from beating a boss like this after getting owned dozens of times
@@zalden2565 Exactly, the SSG/SEB is currently the series that pushes you the most in fights and really makes it rewarding when you finally beat those tough fights. Hopefully they can continue with this for the next game, not RS2:RoS because that's the RS series and will play differently.
@@numenume3079 have you played the originalRS2? The end game will really kick you in the pants also. Tons of planning and considerations you need to make through the whole game. I hope it turns out great
@@zalden2565 played the remastered version and beat it, but tbf i used the Armed Merchant's formation cheese strat. Made the game, and final boss, a breeze, so hopefully they tone that formation down a bit in the remake, but yeah hyped for that game for sure. Just two more months!

Square enix website should have links to the information. They also have a media package online. If you look at the JRPG or SaGa reddit, they should have links as well. Else wise everything else is just me predicting what the game is going to have.
Im at this boss with Ameya's story. I have Ameya, Macha, Lolo, Boh, & Kato, but i just cant beat it. My stun attacks only deal damage & don't stun. Plus it uses gaze & paralyzed most of my party & confused the others. Also the skeletons gaze of death almost always hits killing party members. Help!
Using a formation that draws attacks, equip that unit with Death Resistant gear if you have those. You can also use formations that boost Death Resistance. You can try the Wall of Air spell on your tank, but I don't remember if it affects Death. Gazes should be parryable, but I might be remembering that wrong, so try that with increased threat and drawn attention. It'll probably be highly RNG based for you, but thats what I could think up of on the spot.
@@numenume3079 the gazes can be parried & deflected, but there are times when the protect skills don't activate.. What frustrates me is my stuns not taking.
I finally beat it tonight at 12:02 AM. Ameya was the last one standing. She finished it with two rounds of showstoppers. Got lucky that she evaded one attack & it missed her with the next.

This battle theme is good but this game is low budget trash thank god we are finally getting a true saga game romancing saga 2 remake will be far better then this sad excuse of a saga game
Emerald Beyond has among the best gameplay and mechanics in the series. If "budget" was seriously the reason you couldn't enjoy a SaGa you were only ever a secondary and this series isn't for you.

@@KevintribaI Playing the game on PS5 now and it is far from being garbage. Yes, the presentation is very poor to say the least (looks like a very cheap visual novel during cutscenes), the ENG voices are so bad (so bad they're good actually), BUT: everything else is good or even great. I am a SMT combat system lover and this game's combat system almost as good as SMT V's press turn system. The soundtrack is great, the story isn't too bad, loads of content. Once the combat system, combined with some amazing battle themes get you hooked, it is very hard to stop playing. I was amazed playing Metaphor for the first 10-15h, then get tired of it. Even the combats started to be a bit repetitive, the game's daily structure was boring, so I dropped the game. It is objectively a far better game than Saga Emerald Beyond on paper, but I don't know, this one makes me want to continue playing again and again.

@KevintribaI Completed the demo of RS2 Remake. While it looks better, its combat system is inferior to SEB's one. I also have a preference for SEB's soundtrack. I would say it would depend what you are looking for.

Is there anything besides “Go faster” that can be done to keep the green unit alive longer? Because even with Haste, stamina is still a thing and the green unit keeps dying within like 2-3 rounds of combat for me.
You can try field items like barricades and mines. Summons from sellswords should help as well. Items are great for expert mode and really opens up new strats.
The music is amazing in this fight! I won with my team in a similar state. Won with a Showtime as well. This boss is not messing around. I plan to do it again - and probably most of the stories again since replayability is supposed to be the focal point.
do you think you will do the other charecters english routes?
Probably a new game+ version, I'm clearing through all the other characters at the moment. I wanted to do an Ameya full playthrough but having to do Pulchra multiple times to get her full playthrough might take awhile, doesn't help that I've only done it twice with a forced mido run and B+F.
Does the game has japanese dub?
On PC it does, i don't know about the other consoles.

Hey: been watching your videos but still kind of new overall. Are there no healing spells or anything in this game? Sure seems like the enemy pumps out tons of damage, but the characters HP isn't super high. Thanks for the vids!
No healing, I believe. I don't think you can absorb "HP Absorb" for monsters either. Mitigation from protection and support skills are overpowered, making the damage become zero most of the time, so they make up for no healing. You'll often see me use the phoenix formation, which I tend to use for all SaGa games due to how strong it is for survivability through deflect skills and counter skills.
@@numenume3079 Got it! My only real experience with SaGa is Romancing Song and a bit of Re: Universe, so I understand the bare minimum of typical SaGa mechanics. I love the music though!
@@RangerRobin0404 Once you understand a SaGa mechanic it kind of transfers to most games, so after a few games you should be able to sweep through most games.
@@numenume3079 That makes a lot of sense. I think I've seen "Glimmers" before, but they were called something else. I'm following along for the most part, the damage just seemed kind of wild to me. Or maybe "The Lord of the Earth" was just that strong.

I didn't receive a True Aldora ending, unless I somehow skipped it...

VA’s did a stellar job portraying deadpan, subpar actors.
I immediately recognized the style of composer Kenji Ito. The vocalist here is most likely Kyoko Kishikawa, who also collaborated with Ito in Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song (and can also be heard in Shadow Hearts and other video games). The guitarist here may have been frequent Ito collaborator Tsuyoshi Sekito, but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks for watching! I tried to do commentary, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I never talk irl, so getting to talk as commentary is rough. I'll probably just end up doing voiced videos for when I, hopefully, make some tips and tricks for people starting the game.

I think it's a mix of both? The background music is probably Flamenco, but the lyrics is Scat I believe. Not sure what to put thus why I just put Scat bc IDK the actual genre.

I thought it was impossible to get both Darque and Aldora at the same time, though admittedly I'm still in my first playthrough so i have yet to unlock Darque. Can you actually recruit both once you've unlocked True Aldora or is this a PC mod?
You can recruit both but Darque gets locked to his other personality. To get double Aldora you have to visit the underworld and unlock DarqueAldora and then recruit TrueAldora.
@@numenume3079 ah, that makes sense, guess I just mistook "they can't spawn in the same bar at the same time" as "you can't have both at the same time". More things to experiment with in the future! Thanks for the info!
Went to Delta Base first and tried beating it on PS5 at a few points and just couldn't. Came close a couple times but I needed insanely good RNG on the opening turns for my stuns to go off and for the deaths to miss their targets. This was so clean, clearly I have a lot to figure out with the battle system!

@@numenume3079 I can personally confirm this boss does not have any abilities to absorb with Imakoo. I know because I spent an hour trying to kill it with Imakoo with an empty move slot, only for nothing to come out when it finally fell.

Beren rejoins after you clear the Draken area and Gilbert joins if you talked to him by going to the right side of the map, by proceeding through the gate iirc.
Are there any story differences between killing Anton and not killing him?
I'm not sure, forgot to ask my brother as he defend the whole time instead. It's also been a while since I was at this part, currently in the last region, so I don't remember too well sorry! Maybe it's just a slight difference, but it all ends up the same anyways.

I did Azure Moon Maddening for my first playthrough without knowing anything. I used Ingrid as a dodge tank to draw enemy units to the back corner where I stayed out of Edelgard's range. Then I stormed the throne room ignoring most of the monsters.
Wow! You dealt with this map so effortlessly even despite the restrictions (I'm personally jealous). I've been having a hard time finding people doing this map before Chapter Ten and a hard time tackling the strategies for this, so thanks for a general outline for how to do this map and a boost in my confidence!
Bro when I did this and my Ingrid was level 1 💀 cause I decided to not use her that run and I just put a fortress around her and routed the enemy 😭😭

Usually when I play games casually I don't make full playthroughs, sorry. I've played the Remakes and this game through but I never record them. I was supposed to try out some PVP videos but then WoW Season of Discovery came out so got busy with that, might still try it out maybe. This month is Palworld which I'm gonna play with a friend and then every month is a new game for me so I don't think I'll have the time anyways. The only game that I'll probably do a full playthrough soon of is SaGa Emerald Beyond, since most people will struggle with SaGa mechanics.
