    Costco carried widex ?

    I just purchased a pair of the Widex Evoke 330 and will be fitted in a week. I'm actually a bit nervous because I don't know what to expect. I have substantial hearing loss in both ears and have had a very high frequency tinnitus for the past 36 years (from middle east military service). I really hope that these hearing aids will help me. Your video is very helpful. Thanks.

      Hey Stephen! I'm sorry for the late reply! I hope your fitting went well and the 330's are making your life easier! The Zen program helps my tinnitus a lot when it gets bad and I have noticed an overall decrease in the occurrence/perception of the tinnitus on a daily basis. I am glad the video was helpful. I will be doing an updated video soon so stay tuned! I'd love to hear how you're doing with the hearing aids -Brett

    I'm waiting to get my widex hearing aids, can you hear soft spoken more clear with the hearing aids? Right now i dont have widex hearing aids and i dont understand my friend's kid and it's frusterating. Never had widex before i can't wait! Getting two of them for both ears.

    Well my wife decided for me. Widex 440 it is, and we'll collect them tonight. I did notice when paired me with her iPhone phone calls were picked up seamlessly by the hearing aid. But when paired with my and road samsung phone that didnt happen....

      @fattyconfessionals7507 5 лет назад

      Unfortunately, there aren't many, if any, hearing aids that are compatible with streaming audio directly to the hearing aids. You can buy a streamer device from Widex that would allow that functionality.

  • @bigsky1970

    I'm 48 and have had profound hearing loss since the age of 6, but I would suggest just going straight to the audiologist and get the hearing test. Most, if not all professional audiologist, provide free hearing tests, rather than going to Sam's Club or Costco and paying for a hearing test. In the long run, you'll get a better assessment with the professional audiologist than you will with Sam's or Costco. My hearing loss was caused by an ear infection in both ears. So, I've been through practically every generation of hearing aids since the mid 1970's. My first digital hearing aids I got back in 2004. Luckily they still work, only because of being taken well care of. But I'm at a point where I need to start thinking of getting new ones. When I take mine out at night, I can't hear a thing. Not even the dumpster being dropped on the pavement will startle me out of bed at 5 in the morning. It's that bad. Enjoyed your review, as I've been kind of looking at getting the Widex hearing aid.

    • @fattyconfessionals7507
      @fattyconfessionals7507 5 лет назад

      Sam's Club and Costco do free hearing tests for members typically as well. The tests are usually just as accurate as anything an audiologist does as the folks operating them are typically licensed by the state (if you're in the US and depending on your state's requirements). I will agree that it is a great idea to go to an Audiologist directly if at all possible. I wasn't able to get an appointment for one for a couple of weeks, so Sam's Club was the best option for me at the time. Thanks for sharing your a story and for the kind words, AA7YA! I can only imagine the difference that going from analog to digital made for you. I am sure you will be very impressed by the advancements made in the last 15 years. The ability to make adjustments on the fly to adapt your hearing aid to the environment you're in right from your phone is second to none! I will be doing an update in a couple of weeks after my next appointment with my audiologist, so be on the look out for that! -Brett

    Brett.. I plan not to bombard you with questions, but here's one... So I've downloaded my Widex Evoke app to my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Android, and both hearing aids have paired with Bluetooth. All good so far. But here's the thing.... When I tap the app it the message when it opens reads "No hearing aids connected"... What do you think? Is this the app telling me to ditch Android and buy an expensive iPhone, which I certainly dont want to do? Do you have a fix?

    • @fattyconfessionals7507
      @fattyconfessionals7507 5 лет назад

      Try turning on your GPS location settings. I noticed that when I do that, it pairs faster. Also, try re-pairing the hearing aids with your phone. I have to do that about once every couple of weeks but it helps a lot with connection time. -Brett

    Listening to podcast ... wow a tad emotional as you highlighted the frustrations that for me have become self induced social isolation. I had a previous pair of widex in side ear heading aids (both ears) which I bouught in 2010 and finally gave up the ghost earlier this summer... I tried to use them for as long as poss knowing the massive price of buying a new pair. But the sound quality had been degrading over time, pretty much the same regarding social life. This week the audiologist fitted me with a pair of Widex 440s Oh my god... I told my wife my hearing problem is over...awesome.. Then the audiologist dropped some coins on the table... sounded like a bomb... out on the street, the sounds, I felt dizzy... I have been telling everyone how quiet the garden was, despite living near a main road... now I realise it's pretty noisy, but the loud chirping of birds definitely compensates... Now my only problem is where to get the 3900 Euro to pay for them as the end of the trial later this month.Thanks for your podcast. Hugely meaningful to me. Health #1

      Hi Niall, thank you so much for sharing your story and for watching this video! They are definitely expensive, that is for sure. Thankfully, I only needed one for now but I will need a second one sooner than later. If you like the Widex Evoke series, see if they have a lower model available. You may lose some adjustments but it could save some money. I would also talk to your Audiologist about the price concerns and see if they can work with you on the price by maybe unbundling their services. A lot of times, they bundle in 2 or 3 years worth of care into the price and that can raise the cost a lot. -Brett

    I got my first one today, so far everything seems so loud. The dog dropped a bone in another room and it sounded like he had crashed something big. I still need to download the program to my phone not sure if it will work since it's an Android but I will try it. I'm glad that you now can hear.

    • @fattyconfessionals7507
      @fattyconfessionals7507 5 лет назад

      I had the same issue for about the first month until I got used to it. You'll notice sounds you didn't realize you were missing. For me, the biggest one was the turn signal clicking in my car. haha. It will definitely work with Android as that is what I have, just be sure it is the correct app for your model of hearing aid as there are quite a few apps! If you have the Widex Evoke's, use the Widex Evoke app. If you're unsure, talk to your audiologist and they should be able to help you get it set up correctly. You can also adjust the volume as well in the app, but I would leave it at about the middle. Thank you, I am glad you are getting there yourself as well! -Brett

      @@fattyconfessionals7507 It's so different. Last night I thought the dog knocked over something big as I was in another room and I heard this big crash and it was just his bone. I will do the app today. I go back in two months to get it all checked to see if this one is working. I was so afraid that I would be having to use this giant thing that I remember a Dr of mine using, but this is so small and my hair covers it.

    • @fattyconfessionals7507
      @fattyconfessionals7507 5 лет назад

      @@oskarmolly I can appreciate that for sure! You'll get used to being able to hear again and it won't be so loud. There will actually be situations where you will need to turn it louder sometimes even, as crazy as that may seem right now. Awesome, I hope the app works as well for you as it does for me! I am with you on that! I had a guy I work with, who I see and talk to every day, not notice it until last week! Anymore, Bluetooth earpieces are so common, people don't even notice that you have something on your ear.

    • @bigsky1970

      Been reading up on the Widex and I see they're working on an Android app, so eventually Android users will have an app that works with their Widex hearing aids.

    • @fattyconfessionals7507
      @fattyconfessionals7507 5 лет назад

      AA7YA- They currently have an android app, it just does not currently allow streaming media, like music and phone calls, to your aids. That's the only downfall of most hearing aids on the market in my opinion and the biggest difference between having Android and iPhone with hearing aids. The app functions very well otherwise. -Brett
