17 minutes of the Limber Pine Trail at Hermit Park in Estes Park CO. This was a little less than 12 hours after arriving in Colorado from Texas, so pardon the heavy breathing.... This is the 5th ride on my TREK Rail 9.8 Gen 3 eMTB, and my very first MTB ride in CO.

New Years Day 2022 - Red River Motorcycle Trails. Temps went from close to 70º to 33º in about an hour. Started off sweating, then freezing... But not a better way to spend New Years Day!
FoxForceFive - Sister Grove Preview

A bunch of dirt bike riding buddies and I started riding Mountain Bikes over the summer. We also decided to have a make shift, not so serious race series with each of us picking a different trail to have a timed "race". But in reality it's about eating lunch.... oh, and getting to attempt to make a cool trophy too. Anyway, I picked Sister Grove and here is the preview.

The rain has kept the MTB trails closes the last week or so, at least all of the trails around McKinney TX. If you don't want to drive an hour to North Shore, the option is to do a street ride around town. So, here is 7.5 miles in 4.5 minutes.

24 minutes of some Red River Motorcycle Trails Single Track (not Bills Woods) Update: at around the 6:10 mark, I say I have the Shinko 505 Cheater. I'm not sure why I said that as I have never run that tire... I run the Shinko 525 Cheater.

COVID 19 Proximity Warning System for Braaping

In these days of "Apocalyptic Social Distancing", I felt the only responsible thing I could do as a dirt bike rider, was to develop a system that allows riders to make sure they are Coronavirus safe while enjoying their choice of outdoor recreational exercise activity. This prototype works via a heads up display attached to your goggle of choice, and AMAZINGLY the heads up display shows up on t...

Just a few clips from our ride out at Rocky Ridge on 2/2/20. Haven't ridden Rocky Ridge since last July. It was really muddy, and it seem like they have had a lot of debris scattered about, especially on the tighter trails. We rode the easier bits and pieces of Revlimiter and Red Bull Override.

About 6 minutes from our ride last Sunday. This is 200 yards of Hell and East of Hell, in reverse. I screwed up towards the end by taking the high route... had to walk the bike up in one spot between a couple of trees, then had to cut my way out. Found out my dirtbike saber is not a left handed saw - 😳 doh. After I made it to the end, I went back and cleaned it up a little more, so it should be...

10 minute video of us just messing around at RRMT. We call it Bush Whacking, some like it, some don't. We give zero F*@ks...
Music was on point. Commentary wasn't overdone. 2 thumbs up
You've probably already been asked this, but what camera are you using? It seems to take a great video.
Do you buy a Forrest service sticker for your bike if you have a tag?
Honestly I am not 100% sure. Most of the areas I was riding required a street legal vehicle so every bike I've ridden in CO has been tagged. I know that I had run across several FS workers and rangers while riding, and was never once asked about the OHV sticker. Having said that, it has now been a few years since I've ridden a bike in CO, so it would be best to check what the current requirements are.
You skipped the first mile. It was on the left at the beginning. Lots of good stuff.
Thats a cool trail...perfect for my KLR.
What about out of state trail passes how does that work?
I've never had to have an out of state trail pass, or OHV sticker when I've ridden in CO, but that may have just been the places I've ridden. Having said that, a couple of things to note 1-all of the bikes I have ridden in CO have been plated, street legal (dual sport kit on the 2t). Not sure if that makes a difference or not. 2 - its been a few years since I've made to to Colorado to ride, so you may want to check up on the current requirements.
@@EddieMarak-EM2 thanks for the guidance here in MN you need a DNR sticker regardless of plate or not. I'll do some more digging.
@@thecitiots yea, som places here in TX you need OHV stickers and some places you don't. I think it is the same in CO, I think it just depends on where you are riding. I believe at places like Rampart Range near Denver you do, but in the San Juans you don't. None of the places I've ridden in CO have required them, at least at the time I was riding. Have fun! Colorado is a blast whether on a dirt bike, dual sport, or ADV bike. I haven't been in a while, but need to get back out there soon.

Can you get paper map for Colorado trails?
Yes, there are some really good maps called "Latitude 40º" I believe.
I know it's been like 8 years but do you have the bills woods song?
Yea I guess it's been a while... Here you go ruclips.net/video/5rZZhRDFka8/видео.html
sell your bike lol.
Its worth going there to ride
Awesome video, thank you
How much time did it take you to do the entire pass from begining to Lake city?
It was several years ago, but I want to say it was 3-4 hours from Ouray to Lake City, we did stopped a few times along the way, so not sure about actual riding time - 2, maybe 3 hrs on the bike. You can take Engineer from Ouray to Lake City, and then take Cinnamon Pass from Lake City to Silverton. There are a couple of different options to get back to Ouray from Silverton, either off-road or via 550 (assuming you are plated). This is usually referred to as the Alpine Loop. We did the loop (via the California Gulch route back to Ouray) in about 7-8 hrs (I think it was something like 110 miles). But that time frame includes stopping several times along the way along with a few detours on some of the different trails. If you were doing the loop nonstop on a bike, it would probably be around 5 hrs (about 7 in a 4x4).
U need any stickers to ride here?
I don't think so. We didn't, but we also camped at the campground at Lake Austin, so not sure if Emma Long was part of that. I know it is a city park, so I really don't think there is any fee or requirements, but I would check to be sure.
Great, educational video! Thanks for taking the time to make it. Thumb up, subbed and shared.
Love your videos, especially being able to hear the motor working opposed to irritating loud music like most videos have. ,keep em coming!
I wanna be Keith when I grow up
Good video. I watched it all. The voiceover commentary is good. I also like not having music. I’d prefer to hear the engines; it gives a better idea of what’s going on. Good job.
Great video,love the trails,,,
Hi Eddie! We are heading to Mena, AR toward the end of October. Considering going to Fourche Mountain. Looks much more interesting than Wolf Pen Gap. Not as diverse as RRMT, but I think we'll give it a go!
Cool, I think y'all will like it. It's mostly double track, but there are some good rocky sections too.
Lol
I can’t quite tell what area your riding
this video is mostly around Cuchara, and Taylor Park.
cotrex app has downloadable maps and tracking. it is specific to CO and you can sort trails by what you're riding.
Did you know that bike has a third gear?? :)
There on a great traction day! Looked like little dust. One of my favorite places to ride in the TX circuit. Wish I could hit it this next event.
Yea, I wanted to make it next weekend too, but have to work that weekend. 🙁
Great video! We're headed there end of this month. Looking forward to it!

Reminds me of Bulcher Texas
Took a friend once for his first time, told him "don't veer off, follow me" well he didn't listen and I didn't see him until about 4 hours later.
Ha! Yeah, that’s happened to me before...
No offense at all but you kinda sound like boomhauer from king of the hill
Ha!, well I did grow up kind of close to “Arlen”...
What happened in 8:04 ?? Some fight with the moto ???😏😬
yep, I wanted to go to the right, but it decided it wanted to get stuck.
Bad line choice... LOL, should have gone over the top to the right instead of getting my back wheel stuck between that log and side of the ravine.
I went to Taylor Park a couple years ago and I was by myself, stayed at the dinner station camp and did the doc park trail, I went past where the matchless trail crosse's a mile or so and got to a spot I wasn't comfortable with and went back to matchless and followed it and just rode the trails where ever they went for a while, I only saw one person on matchless on a bicycle and that was it all day🤔🤔, packed up camp and went to Ouray koa campground and road the Jeep trails for the next 4 days, 94 xr250r is what I road
Been here with graham and the team if you enjoy offroad on a bike if you can this is a must do help my riding so much .loved it.
Id like to know who took all the markers down? Sucks!
Maybe the same people who took the Utah Monolith down. Haha.
are drones allowed? I know in national parks its NOT Premitted
I imagine they are allowed. It is a private park. I would check with them to be sure. But I don’t think a drone would be a problem.
@@EddieMarak-EM2 thank you for the reply! I will look into it 🤘🏻
Getting some much needed rain. It time to RIDE!
I want to check this place out. I ride both dirt bike and mountain bike. I have a few questions. 1) does it have mtb trails 2) how far is the campsite from this trail. 3) Are there anything to do for guest that doesn't ride...like hiking, swiming etc
1 - not sure about MTB specific trails, I only really started riding a MTB a few months ago, so did not notice. Having said that, I think there are MTB tails just about everywhere in CO, and I can't imagine them NOT allowing MTB on any of the trails. I saw several MTB'ers when I was there. 2 - This trail was quite a ways from the campsite we were at - but... truthfully we were at the worst campsite to get to this trail. We were south of the Reservoir, you would really want to camp at Dinner Station or Spring Creek or something else that is north and west of the Reservoir. If you were at one of those, this trail would only be a few miles from the campsite. 3 - Yes, tons of stuff for non-riders to do. Hiking pretty much anywhere, and they rent boats, etc... at the Taylor Park Reservoir. Check it out, it is definately worth it.
@@EddieMarak-EM2 thanks...im also from dallas tx and also in the DFW trail group
If you want to ride mtb let me know im always down..i just started about a month ago also....
Rusty, check out the maps produced by Latitude 40. In addition to being high quality, water proof maps, the trail markings are really good. There is a LOT of single track in the Taylor Reservoir area, all of which can be ridden on a mountain bike, and there is some "non-mechanized" single track (MTBs, horseback, hikers). The south end of Doctor Park Trail (424) is non-mechanized, the south section of Cement Creek Trail (553) is non-mechanized, etc. Admittedly, there is more mechanized single track than non, but there is some. I've encountered MTBs in places that truly amazed me.
@@singletrackscott1053 +1 on the Latitude 40º maps. I really like that they have the milage between markers (or trails, etc...) on the maps. You can reset you trip meter on the bikes computer at a mark, then watch the milage once you get to the indicated milage, start looking for the split in the trail (or whatever...). Worked great when I was there, never got lost.
Great scenery but i cant stop looking down at the line even tho i'm not riding!
Yep i hear you, ive ridden since i was 12, 44 years ago, dirt bikes, rice burners, Harleys, still cant pass by a dirt hill on the side of the road without wishing i was jumping off it
Made a trip out there and was good first trip. Need to find a group to tag along with to learn this park and trails
That looks awesome, where do they hold this event?
It is the Ross Creek Trail riders in Bronte TX, just outside of Abilene. The race is at a place called the Texana Ranch, it is an exotic game preserve.
Do you have any footage of the Gold Creek and Cameron Creek trails? I've been wanting to try them but was warned Gold Creek is nasty.
I believe I do. Overall it is not too bad, but there are a few extended, off camber, loose rock climbs that can make it a little more challenging. I will see if I can find the footage. It was a couple of years ago.
Awsome video I love the commentary.
Good heads up post thanks.
Eddie! I just came across this vid. Nice.. I am considering finding a DRZ400s to do a dual sport trip to Colorado. Do you remember any issues with that model for the type of trip you show in this vid? Obviously it had to be rejetted, anything else? I would appreciate any advice.
I bought a JD Jet kit to re-jet for CO. When installing the JD Jet Kit, I also went ahead and did the 3x3 mod (basically opening the intake to the air box to 3"x3". More than likely if you get a used DRZ, it will already have the 3x3 mod done - almost everyone does this mod pretty early on. Other than that, the only thing I did was put a set of Micheline AC10 tires on the bike. I had the Dunlop 606's, but the AC10s seemed better in the dirt. I also used the Giant Loop Mojave bags. I had a set of soft panniers (Dirt Bagz I think), but like the GL bags much better. The panniers seemed to push the back of the bike around quite a bit. The Mojave bags, got the weight up and closer to the bike, so performance was better. The DRZ is a great bike for this kind of trip - mostly jeep roads, and a bit of highway between them. While the bike ran great, and pretty much rolled over everything, it was still a little lacking in power however. It never struggled on anything I threw at it, but after riding a dirt bike for a while, I wanted to do things like jump off of rocks, etc... and it just did not have that kind of snap. It did roll over everything like tank and I was always impressed how well it did when I would get to the top of pass. It is a great platform for this kind of riding, but does lack a little "excitement". I only mention this because I know you ride a 2 stroke, and may be used to the snap. For a nice 2-3 day dual sport adventure ride the DRZ is a perfect bike though, and you can find them for pretty reasonable prices. Here is another video from the following year in the same area, ruclips.net/video/DmRmg4KOGsA/видео.html
@@EddieMarak-EM2 Man, thanks SO much for all the good info!
Who is the other rider with you? I notice they are riding a Freeride. We are going to the Frisco, Colorado area next Tuesday. Any specific tips for prepping my Freeride? Also, any good trails to recommend in the Frisco/Breckenridge, Dillon area? Thanks Eddie!!
That is Rachelle on the Freeride. We took it up there twice, the first time I re-jetted it. It ran pretty good, but a little sluggish at higher altitudes. The next time (the footage in this video), she had bought a Lectron carb, and it ran great - no adjustments needed at all. Of course the Lectron is about $500, if you don't want to spend the $$, then I would definately rejet. I just followed the owners manual for the altitude and temp you will be riding in and you should be fine. May need to adjust the air screw a little once you get up there. I've ridding my ADV bike in that area a few times, but the only off-road I did was forest access roads, etc... Haven't ridden my dirt bike up there, funny.... I was supposed to be in the Frisco area last week, but choose to stay home because I had a couple of jobs come up... so $$ over fun.... :(
Motorized Trails are well marked and designated. Stay the Trail. Please respect Colorado.
Are these trails closed at winter time? Thinking of going there to escape Canadian winter...
SE They are open year round. Winter is when we do most of our riding. They are open to the public on the weekends, and members only during the week, but since you are out of state, you can ride during the week if you call ahead and make arrangements.
I’m a native, of the area and this is one of my favorite trails to ride, also, the 4x4 trail that it comes out on is Called Italian creek!
haha, yea I think I may have called it Indian Creek in the video...
Eddie Marak yes you did Lol, my family has been camping and riding in Taylor park since the 50s. Glad to see others love the area too!
@@codymartinez6131 The single track between Spring Creek and Cement Creek is some of my favorite riding - Bear Creek, Deadman Gulch, Rosebud Gulch, Cement Mountain, Reno Ridge ... all good stuff. To be a native of that area ... that would be nice.
