Merry Christmas and a happy new year 🎈🎊🎆🙏💯
Chick season! I had chicks and ducks in the house, so much dust.
@@missannetteslittlefarminth9069 😂 never again will I do that
We can hear you just fine
Love the close ups:)
Electric works great! We use it in a couple places!
@@AlgiereRanch I’m excited to get it here so my t-posts quit looking a little sideways 😂
Awww we have a Luna too!
Barn cats… some humane society has programs for feral cats
@@tjrose5901 that would be awesome I’ll have to call around. A lot of our shelters around here do indoor only adoptions so I may have to reach out to some others.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Merry Christmas to you all, have a wonderful day
@@debbieportillo5044 Thanks Debbie!
Merry Christmas!!! I just found your channel, your fields look amazing!!
@@AlgiereRanch Thank you! We are trying to work on them still, we tried to get a winter mix down when we moved in but I think we missed our mark by a little bit and mixed with a drought we are fortunate to have what we do out there.

The barn has a gate?
@@jamesahumada4260 just for our chicken coop section of the barn.
Your bucket trap needs a ladder. There are some great videos on RUclips that show you how to trap rats.
@@peternash284 it has a little ladder on the side I think it blended in. I have the ladder sitting right near the hole they are coming from with peanut butter on the flip lid.
Black lights discourages mice. It messes with their brains.
We will have to try that once we finally get power run to the barn.
You can put out peanut butter laced with baking soda. They can’t digest the baking soda 😕 Also copper netting (comes in a roll) is good for blocking holes cause they can’t chew through that. Best of luck and Merry Christmas 🎄✌🏻
Interesting, I didn't know that about the baking soda. We keep plenty of that around the barn for the goats, I'll give it a try. Thank you.
Cats!!!
We have 2 on the property. They have been slacking off on their jobs
We actually dug down and put hardware cloth about 12 in down so nothing could get in that way. It completely stopped anything from burrowing underneath to get in the feed.
@ we just did that the other day it seems to be working where they were digging now we just have to keep fingers crossed they don’t dig anywhere else.
Use little poison houses!? So only rats and mice get in?
We currently have 3 of those set out. It's hard to tell with the poison but it looks like they haven't touched them. I think we are going to make another video on this subject as soon as the holiday craziness is over. My husband says he has a plan.
@@Fiddlefernfarmstead Well but spring loaded traps with salted pig fat into one of these bucket things? Rats really like salted pig fat!😁
we can definitely try that.
@@Fiddlefernfarmstead Ours stopped eating the poison. They are very smart. Spring traps are working for us right now. Caught a big rat in a mouse trap by the tail. maybe it had a heart attack.??? Thought we were on top of the problem only to find that they had moved to the loft for the winter. Large pieces of rock are no deterrent. They dig through everything. Ours seem to live under the concrete of the feed room. We have rubber mats and they under mine those too.
@@tjjurake3506 they definitely are smart critters. It’s like trying to figure out who can put smart who. We just caught one in a live trap and I may go grab some regular rat traps and set those too!
They are so small and adorable.
@@missannetteslittlefarminth9069 they have been the best!
Perfect music for homeschooling
A request on your videos. Your audio is quite low compared to other videos and the volume has to be turned up quite a bit. Other than that I enjoy your videos
For the record, I mainly mean your speech. Keep up the good work
Thank you very much for your feedback. We will adjust the audio on our next video and see if it makes it better.

I've been thinking of using Free Choice Minerals when I get my animals but this might work out better with the smaller amounts
@@Emundas455 this has really been an awesome method. It’s interesting watching the go from each one and choosing the ones they want. Kind of crazy that they can smell and know what they need.
Watching from Philippines❤❤
@@cachoalexandertv9569 so glad to have you here!
Thats very easy to answer. They hsve never read the manual/instruction book
Art on the walls could be a fun project. Remember that its your farm and you can not only do what you want with it, you can always redo it if you don't like it.
@@Emundas455 totally true! I’m looking forward to making them a fun project one day.
The orientation of the shed roof is incorrect. Water will not flow off to the back.
Thank you for your input. There are 2 orientations for metal roofing, ( horizontal and vertical). We use both on our property depending on the application of the building. The goat sheds don't have gutters so the application did't call for directional water flow. that being the case we elected for the horizontal roof for cost effectiveness.
Are you on Tik Tok too?
@@stephenpriebe944 we aren’t but hopefully soon!
When you are starting from the ground up every day is a better day and one step closer to achieving your goals. The very best of British to you.

What do you plant in June or July after you harvest the garlic?
In that bed I usually do okra, I’ve done egg plants too. Usually just depends on what I need more of that year.
@@Fiddlefernfarmstead Thanks!
Just came across your channel. Nice to meet you and see all the different things you are doing. I’m trying to get back to doing my videos but it is time consuming especially when I’m basically doing everything by myself
I totally understand! Doing it all can be a big stressor between filming, being mom, finishing college, and the list goes on 😂 I have to tell myself to just go film something. Stay encouraged! We are just starting out so I hope I can bring some of that encouragement to you as well! Thanks for hanging out with us ❤
Nice to meet you! I have a small homestead in N.C that's 1.66 acres and we use maybe a 4th of that. Nothing wrong with starting small as long as you start 😉
Oh yea that’s what we want to spread here! Just to get started no matter how small!! ❤ thank for hanging out with us!
