BONUS EPISODE: Roadtripping across the PNW! Saturday we took time to check out the river we caught our first wild trout on more than 20 years ago. It was an EPIC day catching coho, but sadly no steelhead. #salmonfishing #pnw #cohosalmon #fishing #fishinglife #roadtrip

There are chrome coho in the river! I just didn't catch one today, but the last couple of days we have seen them caught. Go figure. Slow days of the end of the B-Run are here. We have 11 days left until the end of the season, folks. There are still fish to be caught! Have a great weekend! #tightlines #fishing #pnw #salmonfishing

Yesterday's high water event brought in some keeper chrome coho for a few diehard folks that made the trek out to the Skagit River. Not everyone was able to hook into any after 12:30, but the #baldeagles were flying wild #salmon #fishing #pnw #birdwatching #nature #pnwfishing

Rain again? You betcha! Temps in the 30s? You got it! December fishing is for the #hardcorefisherfolk that know the value of layers and good wet gear. Plus, really warm and comfy long boots. I saw coho rolling and zombie chum still milling around, but you really have to love all the #baldeagles on the river this time of year. #birdwatching #fishing #salmonfishing #pnw #pnwfishing #fishing

I caught SO MANY fish today it was hard to edit it down. It's a SUPER SIZED episode to wrap the week. I found out I had picked up a FIRE egg cluster bead when I was down in Oregon over Thanksgiving. Once I found some fish, I was making other folks start asking what I was doing which is always a great feeling after a rough morning. Two locations, two outcomes. #pnw #pnwfishing #floatfishing #sof...

Welp. No Steelhead season on the Nooksack River, so we headed south to the Skagit the just shift gears and get our minds on December coho. Chris caught a BUNCH of coho waiting for Brian to arrive, but we had a great day anyway amid the snow-capped mountains and chilly weather. #cohosalmon #salmon #pnw #pnwfishing #salmonfishing #fishing #nature

We didn't know it, but today was the LAST day for steelhead fishing on the Nooksack for the year. Done. Wow. We gave it the 'ol college try today as Brian drifted jigs under a bobber, soft beads and Chris drifted eggs as well as both of us twitching jigs and throwing spinners. We caught chum, but sadly no steelhead or coho. #pnw #pnwfishing #steelheadfishing #salmonfishing #fishing #fishingtiktoks

Well, snow and rain and ice were a challenge as we ventured into Central Washington. We were there for my daughter's wedding, but we took a few hours to fish on Sunday! It. Was. Cold. We fished right where Hwy 20 pops into Pateros. We should have followed our instincts and put on a bobber with a jig tipped with shrimp, but I wanted to try the hoochie spinners there and my hands were too cold to...

Biggest coho of the year, again?? We had plans to fish the islands for steelhead, but fog made us head upriver on the Nooksack. It was a great audible as we hooked into a lot of fish including catching out biggest of the year AGAIN. Yes, we bested the beast from yesterday! #coho #pnw #pnwfishing #fishing #fishingtiktoks #salmon #salmonfishing #riverfishing

I caught my BIGGEST coho of 2024! It was a FROSTY morning on the river! Today we talk a bit about the WDFW Fish Washington app since multiple folks I spoke to were unclear about the regs. The North Fork is closed to coho or chum fishing for the remainder of the year. It is open for hatchery steelhead, but not from the Hwy 9 Bridge to the mouth which is permanently closed. The mainstem is no lon...

Elevated tackle makes some good stuff ive seen on the site. Never ordered anything yet, but im hearing the clusters do work magic. Congrats on the steelhead! Awesome! Im watching from back home in CA for xmas with fam, will be back home in a few days and will try to get out to fish! Going 🤪 on what to spend a cabelas giftcard on haha.
Where is it Mr.Henderson? Upper Skagit?
Klickitat River north of Lyle
@PNWDaily holy @$% you drive that far for Steelies wow
Did you see where I went today!?
At least you got out there and threw a few casts. Hope you get a steelhead soon!
@@BlackRifleSurvival definitely slowed down but guys are still catching fish on the Skagit as well if you have time to make the drive. I’m headed out of town, have fun!
I grabbed this pattern at Cabelas for $2.99 for a pack of 8, those Simon blades are 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Simon blades are @$6
I like the chartuse colors, they seem to pull fish on that system pretty reliably
Alright I'll be the first to say...I've never seen a rockfish in the nook, haha. Rock rock fish! Boom! Good times brother!
That's a fun spot I hit it last year on the other side upriver of the bridge had low enough water to wade and get on some chum. My nephew absolutely destroyed my reel on a chum who spooled him running down river, not his fault it was a 15lb drag 2500 Kalon reel. But man was that exciting to watch him get on his 1st washington salmon on his visit to the state.
Looks like a nice day on the river boys!
It was a super slow day still lots of chum around I got a coho on north fork but had to put her back besides that and the one at the confluence thats all we saw
What size pline hootchie is that? 2.5" and what size tinsle skirt to use 3"? I wanna try to make some!
2.5 hoochie skirts, but I go smaller sometimes, I trim the tinsel to match the end of the hoochie and make sure the hook is even with the end as well.
Oh killer! Yeah I got the 2.5s for my buzzbombs already so ill order the tinsels now! Thanks brother! Gonna rig up a few crazy color combos :)@PNWDaily
Oh, wow, 1080p 😂. I'm always surprised to hear ppl catching steelhead in such open waters like the Columbia. Keep grinding. You'll catch'm.
Let's forget these half done silvers. It about time you post video of you catching steelhead on the nook😂 it gona be tough🎉m
Was great to meet you on the water this morning and fish a little bit with you! But glad you got to meet my dog Ranger once he calmed down he was happy and all was good. I appreciate your help on the setups and my questions also! Catch you around again sometime it was fun to watch you bring in that coho!
Hey Brian, question on the clevis, what size for that 3.5 blade? I'm starting to build up my shortbus collection and wanted to get some quick disconnect clevis to swap blades on the fly. Thanks for the fun and educational vids! Wish me luck tomorrow I'm gonna try a wicked and some other methods
Heck yeah been a good few days on the Ole nookfor ya! Great video as always
It was a great day, thanks!
I'll be out Friday, I'd love to collaborate on a video with ya. I'm local.
I'll be out in central Washington this weekend, maybe another time bud!
Hey no worries, I'll give ya a channel shoutout when I get a fish on! Be good brother! @PNWDaily
People don't care because there are too many rules for fishing. So, they are going to fish and keep fish. You don't play by the rules, you have a freezer full. Play by the rules and get nothing.
If you have to freeze fish then that means you are over fishing. More than likely you'll never eat it and it will get freezer burn and go to waste. People will care when the resources are gone because of dim witted people like yourself 🦃
Shame about the poaching. It's honestly pretty crazy how many people don't care. Even on the various Facebook fishing groups If you say something people just tell you to mind your own business.
Full support brother 👍👍👍👍🎣
Is this in Whatcom county?
Skagit River
Nice fish!
Nice fish! Makes me regret not going. I saw that it might be a bit muddy and that the weather wasn't looking good so I stayed in and just went to work.
Rain = fish, that's why we invented rain gear ☔
nice catch do you think there will still be salmon still running in that section of the river till the end of the month? ( i plan on going some time soon )
B-Run just starting in most rivers
From your breathing and the bend in the pole, it looks like he put up a fight!
Haha, surprised you found a clear section of the Sack.
I found what you’re talking about thanks for the info. Wasn’t saying you were wrong just everywhere I clicked on the app said we couldn’t. I obviously didn’t click on that part of the river.
Was I right about not being able to keep the chum? You removed the video?
I haven’t removed the video, still up. And no, you were not correct. You can keep 1 chum from Ferndale to the confluence.
Is that the "super slough"? Nice fish! Glad you got to go out for a bit.
Not sure if that’s the nickname for it, but it sure is a great description.
Might wanna read the regulations agian nooksack is release chum as well
Very excited about the regs this year, you can keep FOUR salmon (2 Wild Coho) and ONE CHUM.
Brian where are you reading that? On the fish wa app it says we have to release chum?
I’ve been fishing the north fork the last 2 days and everyone is catch and release. I even looked at regulations for the lower river and it also said we have to release chum
@@danieljansen6423 Just click on the river in the app. From the I-5 bridge to the confluence, the river is open for one chum.
Question on keeping chum
Real nice man! Should i go for a lighter color like pink on the south fork, seeing as it is much more clear than Lynden and Ferndale?
I use the clear and pink Goldstar because it works great, but the hot pink P-Line with chartreuse blade has been absolute FIRE this year as well up there and in Ferndale.
Ummm who cares if you beached it??? Should have let it go!!!
If you beach a salmon it has a 90% mortality rate, released or not. You're allowed two native fish a day, I kept four all season.
Was there today and the 8k cfs was raging. I did have two surface right by the bank. The number of wild kings is 100% under reported.
Whens the b run start? Nice fish! 🐟
Some have showed up in the nets, so they are mixed in along with the chum now.
I fish the muddy Skagit (it's near my house), and haven't had any luck.
You are allowed to keep 2 wild fished 2 hatcheries. So no hurt here.
Nice catch!!
How much does it cost to get everything to make your own hoochie spinners
Great catch, man. I'll actually be at the nooksack tomorrow. I hope to run into you. You're killing it out there. Show me the way. Haha
Where is this location at nooksack look like northfork? 😂
Mainstem at the confluence
@PNWDaily probably bus barns 😆 🤣 I fish where you fish By ferndale only 1 fish caught for 3 hours. Thinking they moved up Everson or South Fork. Tight line brother love all your videos.
Nice catch!
Thanks, Dan!
Bro you burned lot of spots on this video😂
Awesome video! Any tips for when the water is muddy like it is now? Also guessing the run peaks around early October?
Wow, great video! Very helpful tips. Thank you. SUBSCRIBED!!
How do you get here? I tried a Google search but no directions. Thanks in advance.
It's called the HOF Access Area on your Fish WA App. Off the River Road roundabout.
@@PNWDaily awesome, thank you. I hope to run into you out there sometime. Good videos.
Thanks!
Hope things get better for you and your mom! 🙏❤️
To get to the nooksack do you launch at squalicum beach? Looks like the closest access. Thinking about giving it a go.
Yes, it takes a bit of time to get there if you troll. I suggest just making a run over there first before dropping a line.
Hope to make it out there this September!
Do you normally catch fish in Bellingham Bay? I was out crabbing this evening and saw some fish jump. Looked like coho.
I have caught them fishing at Zuanich Park on the rocks on my lunch break, I have caught them a few other places downtown along the water but I have not caught them on my kayak on the open bay which is why I have been focusing my efforts out there. I know I can dial it in, there are fish there. I catch them out at Sandy Point and Cherry Point, but I am trying to find a spot I can send folks to that you don't need a boat for but can have similar results from a kayak right here in Bellingham. It isn't consistent enough for me to recommend one particular spot, but water access for kayaks is very limited in WA state due to property laws allowing vast areas of shoreline to be off limits to those without excessive economic means so I am always on the hunt to utilize what's left of actual public access to public lands and waters.
@@PNWDailyI love that. Best of luck in your hunt! Thanks for the response!
Wheres the shop at?
Yeager's on Northwest Ave in Bellingham!
