I think this boss wins by confusing you into a panic. If you retreat your operators that the boss links itself to (or if they die of course), then all your adjacent operators get retreated too and that would just about end the stage. But if your team's well set up and you have enough DPS to deal with the swarms, it ends up being one of the easier boss stages in the game.

I have found those enemies that drop the carapace to be annoying in BP-7. Sadly Lappland cannot silence that ability, it drops on kill regardless of her talent.

I think it's important to note that Ulpianus talent 2 gets counted as base stats so they're getting multiplied by any buff, talent or skill effects multiplier, so you're gaining a lot more than what the initial flat numbers would make you think.
