Hi I'm Nigel! A session guitarist and tutor living in the Cotswolds, UK. I've played and recorded with many acts from Gaz Coombes (Supergrass), Hot 8 Brass Band and The Black Feathers to Logo TV and BBC productions.
I aim to provide weekly lessons, advice and guidance to help you navigate the fretboard.

I wouldn't risk doing 1 1/2 step bends when playing live (break a string, putting the guitar out of tune). That bend / slide is an interesting technique. Chris Buck attacks his guitar, looks so violent.
They’re ok to do live if you practise them first, I never break strings doing them. Maybe it helps that my guitar is set up properly though? 🤷🏼♂️
@@nigelgardnerguitar My bandmate broke his A string during a gig, never saw that happen ever!😲 Maybe I would try extreme bends with a set of 9's downtuned to D standard.
This is a bold move- a RUclipsr with less than 1,000 subscribers gambling that they will make enough money off of Patreon by offering TABS for lessons $1.50/month is certainly cheap, but monthly costs add up for people, and at a certain point it is questionable if people will pony up the money for generic and random TABS and instead of focusing on getting subscribers and more ad revenue and overall money by posting videos that have embedded or free pdf TABS It’s probably better to go the actual embedded/free pdf route but good luck to him The market is flooded with this stuff but he presents very well so there’s that

A beautiful rendition of a very emotional song for me. I was a very good guitarist, much like yourself Nigel. Unforunately just over ten years ago now I suffered a problem with my spine which needed urgent surgery and was concering discs very close to my brainstem. It left me with both hands losing a large amount of dexterity. I was about to quit my guitars but my wife urged me to try to retrain my brain so I could play again. I am 73 now and play everyday. I'm nowhere as good as I used to be but I really try. It's listening to players like yourself that spur me on, so thank you from my heart for the inspiration. Andy Rudge.

Hi Rose. Normally YES in a minor pentatonic, but if you're playing over dominant chords (such as A7, D7, E7) then it sounds cool to include the Major Third. Sorry, I should've spent more time on that point - I'll make a video on it soon! :)
