As my Guru says, the busiest of her students find time to attend the classes without taking a break just because the students say that practicing or learning a new song or concept helps them focus better at their work without pressurizing them. As I believe, if one is learning music for some 10-12 years and decides to stop it because of college or work, one must remember the decade of dedication and time spent on it. Most people do not consider that their learning is being halted at half the way. One attends school from kindergarten to the 12th grade and then 4 years bachelors, 2 years masters etc as stopping midway will hinder their oppurtunities as well as knowledge. A medical student cannot do their course for just 2 years and say, "This is enough, I'll go work now!" No one will hire them due to inadequate knowledge on the field. Irrespective of the opportunity, their learning will only be half-fulfilled. Music students must visualize Sangeetham from the same point of view.
