i have the same specs but only 8gb ram and no ssd. but in fortnite is stutters so much idk why. it is so laggy in fortnite. In cs2 I get max 130 fps. What is the problem with my pc?

As someone who games myself on a gtx 1080ti and i7 8700 that I got for a steal of a deal at 300 dollars I often find myself wondering a lot about my set up. Things like does dx11 function better then dx12 on my particular card and does upgrading make sense from a dollar vs performance perspective. I can't see a good argument for me upgrading and I try to spend as little as possible so I only buy used older gen gear as new isn't worth the price usually. My 1080ti gives me the fps I need at 1080p and I can't ever see a reason to go for more resolution even on my 56inch display as I sit 5ft away and can't tell any difference in the image quality when I do go up to 4k or 2k but can tell the huge drop in fps and performance. That being said im eventually going to upgrade lil by lil but in the mean time I really would love to know a definitive answer on if running dx11 is better for these older cards then dx12 cause it seems that way when you watch the 1 percent lows and frame time graphs.
