What is your orchard location? The ground looks like ours in California.
It is in Israel The ground and the weather are similar, yes👍
Much sunburn
@@ganeshnaidu9592 yes, the last summer was terrible
❤
Instead of music, oral instructions would be nice
When your bael tree start to produce?
This is a grafted tree, so just a few years after planting it
They must taste REALLY good!
@@marcirolle8084 the scent is better 😃
Thank you for showing how to thin the loquats and then showing the results!
You welcome 😀
hello friend, you have seeds? my dream to cultivate them
This site does not like talking about that topic here
@@mymediterraneanorchard ok, i pm you on istag
@@mymediterraneanorchard ok, i send on ist
Very nice sharing +1 for you and you plz
Thanks I'll do it too😃
thanks goodness you didnt disturb the rootball. you'll be rewarded for it. though the plant looks like it has been roughed up by the most dangerous gang in the neighborhood. lol
The way I tell when they are ripe is to knock them against something and then to shake them to here if the fruit is loose inside. The fruit of some varieties don't turn yellow it ideal to be familiar with your variety though in south africa varieties are sold mixed together because they are picked from wild and seedling tree which are highly variable and tasty or not so tasty .
Thanks for the info 😊 Here I have seen only this variety and the fruits are mostly sweet ☺️
Please what is the health benefits of this fruit
@@Febechi-vk5jh of what specifically?
Wow not used to seeing your fruit trees looking that rough, that one really needed a pick me up 😁
@@lyonheart84 Yes, sometimes I don't get to all of them in time
Thats a rare pouteria that I've never come across 👍
@@lyonheart84 Thanks! Hopefully it will look better soon😃
I just start with Nahis in our garden. So this idears might be stupid... but can you not cut this very long candels (it grows every year again and again) in summer? It would be additional work, but you would robb the tree la lot of leaves and with that, energy to grow more high in the end of summer. second possibe advatage could be, that your fruits might get mor sun and third that the permanent area of the tree (the once who survive the cuttings year by year) might develop more fruitbuds, so that next year maybe more energy from that tree goes into fruiríng and bit less into shooting so high. Thank you for your video and sorry for the bad English. I saw an old Dutch not cutting watershoters (our name for this straight upright growing candels) but kind of breaking tham, so the tree spendet time in healing that little breats, but the tip was still dominant, so that no new shoters grow, and in winter he cuted the shoter
Thank you for your comment, appreciated! Where do you live? Our sun will burn the fruits if I cut the branches at summer. we have at least 4 straight months of 35-38C at noon. And speaking of that, it is not easy prune in that season.. imagine you sweat only by standing..even sitting.. outside... even during the evening! Anyway- did you see the video of the fruuts we picked very recently from that tree (which was pruned heavily last spring)? With this much fruits and their size... who really needs to try and make it better😉
@@mymediterraneanorchard Thank you for your quick response. Oh yes I understand the total different situation now, lol took a while. I am northgerman => we have to prune in a way to ensure that each sunlight hits the fruits and leaves (only few should sray in shadow, once sun is out) . Yep your hrvest and videos are impressive. I like tham and learn about your way of cuttings and the trres response. Very helpful for me :) ((I started espalier our trees (new plants now 3 years in position - Belgium fence and others horizontal to ensure they get enough from our much seldom sun and dry quick after rains to avoid fungus etc ==> So I am still experimenting and the spurrenewalproblem is not yet there by this age , but I try to think about it with your videos help; so once again many thanks and have a good time))
Magnificent. Do you ever thin them or leave it to nature ?
@@lyonheart84 We leave it to nature 😊 no time to thin fruits here
Do you not eat the kaffir leaves?? Omg that’s a lot wow
@@alwaysluv4ever774 we can't eat so many lol
@@mymediterraneanorchard dang. I would like to have them. I’m growing one and my kaffir is a baby one right now
How many feet sideways did your tree grow?
@@alwayspete not much at all... maybe 3 feet radius A larger one will be 6-7 feet radius
@@mymediterraneanorchard I’m planting a new one. So doing some online research. 😁 I’ve seen trees on which people climb to harvest governors plums. So it can get pretty big. 15-20 feet spread with twisted branches if left alone it seems. But regular pruning can help with size control. Thanks for replying! Pete ;”)
What is your climate like? I have a sapodilla tree about half the size of your tree. It always flower a bunch but never set fruit. Where I live it is a we have a dry summer when it is blooming .
@@jamestnguyen2165 Mild and wet winter Hot and dry summer Your Sapodilla might need cross pollination
How cold it can handle?
@@franciskoperic8659 A bit below freezing I guess

If you’re interested, maybe try letting some go through the winter after the leaves fall, most hawthorns fully ripen during that time and that’s when birds eat wild hawthorns, allegedly it makes them softer and sweeter
@@MichaelRay380 yes I have notice it 😀 the problem is that they probably contain insects at that point
how many years to start producing fruit?
@@pyrophobia133 this plant is grafted- so right away 😅 from seed- no clue. Probably 5-10 years at least

Yes they do :)
What is the botanical name for acerola fruits? Are they sour
It is Malphigia glabra For this variety the fruits are sweet
In Botanical Garden of Saint-Retersburg (Russia) we have a hothouse which looks very similar to this one.
Nice! I will want to get there one day.
Just a little hint to everyone living in super hot desert areas These guys like a little shades and not full sun
Thank you, I didn't know that!😀
Were they sweet?
Yes they were😁
How do you sprout the seeds?
I never did, so I don't know 🥲
Any germination tips?
It germinates very easily, no special needs
@@mymediterraneanorchard Huh. Either I got a bad batch or the soil really sucked because none out of 15 germinated
@@mymediterraneanorchard Or I was neglectful
@@redmadness265 probably.... when given water they can germinate like weed
