Walk up Salisbury Crags and Scottish Rhyming Slang | Holyrood Park, Edinburgh
Join me on a walk up Salisbury Crags. These rocky slopes are part of Holyrood Park and provide a beautiful natural backdrop to the city centre. It's Edinburgh's biggest open space and provides sanctuary from the crowded streets, all within the city limits.

'6 TIMES' consists of six life-sized figures positioned between the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and the sea. This final figure is situated at the end of an abandoned pier in Leith Docks, looking out to the point where the river finally meets the sea. A day out in Leith - Food, whisky tasting, shopping and Trainspotting
It’s a novelty an urban farm in the middle of a city. I helped out here for four years and it were very good. I also had the chance and I took full responsibility for the pet lodge when paid staff were off. The main responsibility I had making sure it was locked up at the end of the day. There was this volunteer who’s four and three-quarter years younger than I, we got on perfectly well and it is a pity she wasn’t single as I had the hots for her. This babe often wore a nice thin dark blue raincoat I love seeing her wear haha. Speaking of urban farms, I’d love to have had the opportunity of working on a proper farm way out in the sticks. For example, I proudly attended boarding school based in the beautiful South Lake District and I liked it very much, so much, so I wish it had turned into a college I’d definitely have gone back years ago and trained on the farm adjacent to the school which had livestock consisting of Suffolk, sheep, Holstein cattle and other. During my proud attendance at this school, we kept an abundance of rabbits, three horses and I also had the privilege of bottlefeeding and spending a virtual afternoon looking after a young deer found in the woods near the school when I was 14 years of age. The deer would often let out a loud squeal assuming he was calling for the mum who never returned, hence why we rescued him. He had an abundance of white spots which fade after a few months, yes, extremely poignant interesting. One of the rabbits we kept, we attained from a pig farm when I was 14 years of age during spring 1982. It’s clear Harvey came from a farm as he had a distinct scent about him which was extremely fascinating. Harvey had a blue clip in his ear, he was a huge New Zealand pedigree white with pink red eyes. The farmer stated Harvey was quite shy and didn’t take to many others, but I appear to be an exception as he took to me straight away and vice versa. A member of staff, another boy and I went to the farm to collect much-needed rabbit cages and again, cut a long story short, we brought Harvey back to the school. Again, my days at the school were brilliant and even a former member of staff I met up with four years ago, stated it would have been fantastic had a few of us boys got a job and I tell you now peeps, I’d still be there working hard on the farm as I know it is a job I’d like even if we took on wildlife Including fox cubs et cetera. During my proud attendance at the school, I found in a classroom a book called Vulpina The Story Of A Fox by David MacDonald. It basically highlights the life of red foxes from birth, learning to hunt, encounters with the family et cetera. It features from the same litter as Vulpina a dominant dog fox by the name of Big Red, of course the book highlights Vulpina on most occasions throughout the story and It is not clear what happened to Big Red. Some two years later, Vulpina finds a mate, a huge dog fox and they have a litter of their own. I found this book during March 1982, when I had just turned 14 years of age. The book went missing so needless to say, I thought about this book for years ahead, and finally managed to salvage my own copy, which I will treasure forever. It is extremely poignant as it reminds me of my fond days at this boarding school and it is an interesting story. I’m happily settled back home in the beautiful West Midlands England and years ago, are used to attend a nice college down here. On a Friday afternoon, we had the option off activities and one of them was horse riding. Needless to say, I opted for this activity and it was extremely fascinating as we went all the way out into the beautiful countryside here in the nice West Midlands, where we partook of horse riding at a riding school. Again, this was extremely fascinating and I liked it very much as we often bypassed farms, and I have always been fascinated by the smell of the hay, the silage and everything to do with agriculture. We also used to visit and assist on farms when I proudly attended this boarding school, so yes, extremely interesting, and if I could go back in time, I’d gladly become involved with lambing and other similar duties. Hope there is a parallel universe/life, we come back and have the chance to fulfil opportunities. We wish we had this time round.
"Doon yer tea" just means 'down your tea' as in drink it all fast, in a thick scottish accent! I've also seen these graffitis all over edinburgh, i wanna know the bandit's story...
It's a reference to class wars. Thr night is the tea sipping upper crust, and the bread eating sack wearing green monster is thr underclass
It’s a great view up there for sure! Nice video.
Nice video. Nice channel. Subscribed.😊
The loch at the top of Arthur's Seat is known as Dunsapie Loch. Not a lot of people know this but on the side farthest from the car park, there's a geothermal blowhole that spirals down into the depths of the seat. There had been attempts decades ago to find its bottom, but it's said to be bottomless, depth unknown. You can't see it from the bank of the loch because the hole is covered by algae and detritus. I'm not sure how wide it is but it is definitely wide enough to swim in (shudder)... I love my Edinburgh
Love waking up there
As a local, I find it such bad patter idk why i hate it lol. I love the graffiti scene in Edinburgh/Leith, it's otherwise so fun and exciting
Worked in valvona when I was just in my teens. Learned alot about the different foods from the region's ect. But was never like what it is today. I find its lost the character. The Italian name they gave me was Garibaldi. 🤣
So sad, our beautiful hometown is such a disgrace. Blonde Nomad thank you for doing this and being a true community leader. We ALL need to be part of the solution and you’re showing us the way - we shouldn’t wait to leave it to someone else. I hope you send this video to the Council. Wait … how about you run to be represented on the Council? We should start community groups to follow your lead …
Came here by Googling "Doon yer tea" as graffiti in Leith where I was staying for a few days. Curious to know what it means.
I Iove your hair !
The battle is when yer tea gets cauld and you have the dilemma of having to just doon it anyway
I’ve seen these all around myself. No clue what it means!

Awesome. I like the alpacas the most!
Lovely :) need to come visits sometime. Great video as always!
20:30 William was the highlight of my visit to Rosslyn in 2015. If he's 17 as I type this, then he's a senior cat. He's the purr-fect mascot to attract tourists.
To all visitors to Edinburgh DO NOT RUB THE NOSE !!!!!!
IVE BEEN THERE BEFORE
Best episode yet. Great stuff :)
This one was great! Need to go visit Roslyn some day!
Edinburgh is a joke city run by idiots in the council who are more interested in painting bicycles in the roads. It's a disgrace what has been allowed to happen to Edinburgh. It's actually disgusting.
Stupidest poepke with no mask. How could they be that dumb. I know exactly where are my kids during this pandemic. Fuck those parents
Fuck up and let folk have some fun ye silver haired shitebag
One of my favourite places in Edinburgh with easy access to the museum too 😊
I Can see people who can't handle drink i see
Well done, thank you. Perhaps a change of council is required.
Absolutely disgusting, wee dicks
lols, so shameful the pigs aren't using teargas on these kids
Is the piano genius therefore lure totouristic draws gusto capuccio
Fascist boot
That mess will probably be from the hostel on castle street
What makes you say that?
Tear gas ?? Wtf are you going on about ? I dont agree with the mess etc. but you want to tear gas teenagers in a park? Go back to your own country if you dont like it.
No one trying to stop it why not u go do it. Talking about the police not doing anything. There’s 4 of them and there’s no where near as many police to people in meadow ratio
Your not even wearing a mask 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lockdown is pointless. I'm glad to see they are doing this.
Agreed. I myself am tired of masks. Social distancing and all this pointless crap doesn't work. I stopped complying.
Your there as well?
This is simply weird...
i was cycling through the park and it was uncyclable
Tear gas?! 😂😂😂 wee secret fash tendencies there right?
looks like a mad hatters tea party.... So many idiots in Edinburgh at one time ... Doomed were all doomed.....
Well there was a huge brawl after she must have posted this, people were hit with bottles and some of the police injured, it was disgraceful.
She must have instigated it by predicting a riot
who made you a police lady ? Soooo Middle class.
She's not policing anyone though is she? Soooooo classist.

You do have quite the flare for exaggeration.
With the language, I agree, an element of sarcasm/comedy just the way I talk. That was recorded spontaneously so I felt quite emotional, it did look pretty bad tbh.
