The purpose of my channel is to show as wide a variety of subjects as possible. As a documentary film maker, I have accumulated a great deal of video material on subjects from Russian aircraft to heritage railway lines, from the River Thames source to bridge construction. The majority of the videos on this channel are taken from this material. They are short, usually lasting less than three minutes and without narration. This is partly because of the time it takes to upload videos onto You Tube but mainly because it is best to tell your story as succinctly and visually as possible.

Everything was pixels
I am very sorry if you found the picture quality to be poor. it sounds as if there was a problem between your computer and my You Tube channel which I can not explain.
Beautiful video, thanks so much for
Thank you for your kind and encouraging comment.

Very pleased that my video brought back a host of memories for you. Thanks for watching
thank you
Beautiful place. Too bad it's being ruined by 3rd worlders.
Great video. Just reading ‘Deep Sea Treasure’ by Mark Williams and he gives a good account of the wrecking of the ‘Association’ so this was very helpful to give more context. Thank you!
Thank you very much for your comment. It is very good to know that people like the video and find it interesting and useful.
Most enjoyable. As is well known, Harrison died without the reward for his work.

Ladies and gentlemen,we found the real Thames end
Bravo, it’s maddening that the modern world thinks that Jethro is a 1960-70s rock musician (Ian Anderson of the band carrying Jethro’s name).
Yes, I do agree! That is the main reason I made the video. I really felf that such a clever inventor should be better known.
good video bro make more for us !
I really enjoyed your great film , thank you .
Thank you for your kind and encouraging comment. If you have not visited the Scillies I hope my little film will encourage you to do so.
...just be cautious of those rocks. Don't lose track of them 🙏
I really enjoyed your great film , thank you .
I was there when it took of I stood beside the runway, it was amazing.
We were probably next to one another when I was shooting this video
@@Saintbirinus I remember a lot of grass cutting in the air after it took off. None of the other planes kicked any up.
What a lovely video - thanks for making this. Jethro Tull is my first cousin 10 x removed. So nice to learn more about him and what a modest headstone!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you! This was a really good and interesting video. I have been to the Scillies a couple of times, and will remember this information for future visits 🙂
Thank you for your kind comment. I am very glad you enjoyed the video.
Jhetro Tull his my favourite scientist is very imazing
Thanks for the comment. I hope you found the video of interest.
When the Torry sank the oil could be sliced off the beach at wine cove at Martin's with an axe . It was still there when that helicopter crashed in the 80s . I was friendly with several of the islanders . They spoke of many things that happened on the islands . It's a lovely place but it's expensive to live and holiday there . I used to drive an old transit van that had no brakes no tax and no MOT . Those where the days when all summer it hardly rained . Come winter is another story . I dream of going back to live there but I need regular hospital visits and the such it would be very difficult.
Thank you for your interesting comment. I feel very sad for you that for medical reasons, it is no loner possible for you to be in that beautiful place. You must have many golden memories.
@@Saintbirinus . It's not so much the hospital stuff more the rich people and the dutchy that own the islands . I couldn't afford a house in 1970 when they where under 3 grand so I stand no chance when they are half a million . The council has put rules who can buy a place now which counts me out as I'm not a key worker being a carpenter and stone mason .
We had the pleasure of meeting Eric this morning on our walk whilst our children were rowing. We’ve shared his link to all the parents of the towing club as I’m sure they would love a variety of walks whilst their children row. What a knowledgeable and charming man.
Thank you for your very kind and apt comment about Eric.
Would have been great planes for the bush war
Entire England is a Monty Python skit. Love from California. ;-]
I have a piece of eight from the Association and one from the Hollandia. I bought them about 50 years ago.
I always think such coins are a beautiful connection with the past. Well worth having.
@@Saintbirinus I’ve used them in my third grade class to teach them what a "clip joint" was. One piece has milling and the other if fairly crude. Unscrupulous merchants would trim silver and give you bad change. I’m always amazed how much historians learn when a cache of coins is discovered.
Maleme dam?
It might well be.... I don't know it by that name.
Hi I think your son maybe Philip, I went to school with him and your daughter Julia? I went Whitchurch primary school and then Langtree school woodcote.
Thanks for your comment. Philip and Julia are, I think, Eric's children whilst mine are Peter and Mandy Brazil both of whom went to Whitchurch Primary School. I simply made this biopic about the great man!
I was raised in Whitchurch, lives at 1 eastfield Lane from 1966 to 19882 these vidios bring back fond memories. Unfortunately my family I was with then have all passed away. Still recognize the old place from my childhood. We used to go to the “white stone” hill don’t know if it’s still there?
I am very glad my little films bring back memories for you. Despite changes over the years Whitchurch still remains an enchanting and beautiful place to live. What is your name by the way? Having lived in Whitchurch myself since 1976 I probably know you.
I've never seen a video showing the spring water which supposedly is the source of the Thames river bubbling up from under the ground. The all show either a dry ground or a full riverbed. I want to see the actual spring water bubbling up.
Flooding at the Thames source in Trewesbury Mead as shown in my video is a rare event and a magical experience. On this occasion it was during a very wet winter. I would also recommend visiting Seven Springs near Cheltenham where the springs can be seen flowing out of the ground 365 days of the year. Some claim that is the actual Thames source. Whatever you think it is well worth a visit. Thank you very much for viewing my video and your interesting comment.
@@Saintbirinus could you go to the Seven Springs and upload a video of the springs bubbling out of the ground? I live in the United States and can't easily and cheaply get there.
Uk, England where i dream of day by day
Nice video there 👌🏻👍
Thanks for your comment.
I grew up in Farnborough - I don't remember a lot from when I was 6 years old but I do remember mucking about with my mates in the street and seeing this absolute beast roaring a few hundred feet above my head. I was a jumpy kid, I hated loud noises and especially hated the airshow, so when I saw the Antonov I was terrified and ran into my house. I have the image of this impossibly massive flying fortress flying uncomfortably low etched into my memory forever. Now I'm a bit of an avgeek and I love watching clips of the Antonov on youtube. I would love to experience that moment again.
Thank you for your interesting recollections Barry.
Might be a bit before anyone sees this plane again.
As a direct descendant of Jethro Tull I'm incredibly proud of my family history. This video reminds reminds me of my Grandfather telling me about Jethro when I was a young boy. The next time I see him I'll show this video to him and I will do the same for my children when I have them. Thank you for making this video
awesome I remember learning about him in secondary school great mind and a true genius! the band isn't bad either! hahaah
I am very pleased that you find it so interesting and useful.
Well you should be. Quite an accomplishment.
Haha a bout time some one has mentioned the wreckers. What a good life it was beening a wrecker I would do it all again got shot on the beach got the shot mark to prove it on my forehead once a wrecker Allways a wrecker. From a reincarnated wrecker
If my memory serves me right, the day before, it blew an engine on the takeoff roll and aborted. A new engine was flown in and changed overnight before flying on this day. I was there that year.
Heartwarming! We're so lucky to have Eric in our community!
Yes, a legend in his own lifetime!
Very nice video Brilliant
Many thanks.
Its not fun while people pee in the source of rivers 😂😂😂
Good people
Yes, they will be much missed in Whitchurch .
Now I know where the band name Jethro Tull came from. I’m only 28 and I still play his music today. And when you listen to the music you kind of have a rich farmer feeling turn poor drinking homeless guy with a dog sad story but it’s brilliant! No one thinks like that these days. Thank you so much for this video 😎👍 Aqualung.
Very glad you enjoyed and got value out of my little video. Thank you
Nick Brazil Very informative and fascinating insight of one mans genius invention. Massey Ferguson and John Deere must have been not that far behind him except they had an engine and gears.
Some Really dumb questions here. I don't understand how a field can be the source? Wow I hope in the years that have passed some Of these people have gained some small semblance of common sense.
Some people simply don't know. They won't ever know until they ask questions. No need to talk down on them for wanting to learn.
Didn't exactly answer his question did you?
Very surprised to see this. Have many phots of Dad in ACF but first movie seen. Remember the school well my time in the ACF, and doing all the activities shown...
Your Dad asked me to shoot this film. I had a great deal of time and respect for him. I will always remember Gerald as a very positive and larger than life character with a good sense of humour. I hope this little film brought you a great deal of pleasure.
Would this be Gerald Quick who became Mayor of Chard? I remember him when I was in Chard Town ACF in the 70s.
@@charlesdale1462 Yes it is
How spiritual is that ..So Lovely ...
I am glad you like my little film......
what a fantastic idea and a superb painting- well done
Thanks for the kind comments. Very glad you liked both the mural and the video.
Stood abit close
Chris is my grandfather so I really enjoyed watching this and hearing about a time in his life that he doesn't often speak of. I am so grateful that some of his memoirs have been recorded, thank you.
It has been a privilege to tell his story and a great pleasure to know your family.
No one has ever benefited out of a War
Regrettably, I think you are wrong. More accurate to say the innocent majority never benefit from war. Also all wars are unnecessary but few are avoidable.
I was at the end of the runway, just in front of the arrester as it trundled towards me - terrifying.
Thanks for that memory.
WIE hier is van de steiner school !!!!!
hahahahahaha ik!
Hi, Stan is my Grandfather's nephew. If you are in touch, I have been doing some research into the family tree and would love to get in touch.
