Hi! I am just learning how to use Mylar bags. Can I put my flour or rice, etc in a gallon size ziplock bag and then put it in the Mylar bag with an oxygen absorber! Also would I put the oxygen absorber inside the ziplock bag or the mylar bag? Thanks!

If I need buckets, I go to the local bakery and get 3 g. buckets. Usually a couple bucks each and food grade... WITH lids.

I've been procrastinating about buying mylar bags because of the cost and lack of support from my wife. Times have changed though. We were at an Amazon bins location the other day and found the same 75 (bag) kit in this video for $10. I found a total of three kits so I bought all three for $30. This weekend I'm going to start using them.

Steel toed boot are essential. Not only for working around machinery or sharp equipment - but also if put in a defensive situation.

The just cotton is cotton yarn ,could be crocheted into a wick but it would have to be a super tight single crochet with a small hook

Total user error. It is so much easier when mounted to a stable surface. And backing that wing nut up towards the crank handle allows you to close the gap on the griding wheels, creating a flour instead of a meal.

You don't have to go to the gym anymore, just use your grinder. Grain like almonds, chickpeas maybe easier.

To all preppers: Don't rely too heavily on stockpiling, because if you live in a city-like area, many homes will be breached in those days, and everything will be up for grabs. I hope this doesn't come to pass, but we'd probably need God for that.

Yep, I have found some great deals at the thrift store. I found 2 large and one travel size Berkey stainless Water filter sets. The travel size I got for a total of $3.00 , the had it in the section with the trash cans. Military sleeping bags, wool blankets... some awesome stuff over they past few years.

My 5 year old and I have been working on this same thing, and we had the same bean identification issue as you did!! No yelloweye beans, we think navy beans are the same thing as small white beans, no white kidney beans, and instead we have a light kidney bean and a dark kidney bean. All of the beans germinated and grew except the split peas. We also counted all of the beans! So much learning from one bag of beans!

I came across some blueberry varieties & the Mr Honeyberry today at Home Depot's garden center. They were in the same packaging as you shared here. All $12.99 each. They were a bit smaller & less vigorous looking than yours from 2022. I was there looking for the berry bushes on sale right now for $9.99 & I was fortunate to be directed back to the parking lot where they had them sitting outside the garden center. I purchased 2 thornless blackberry varieties that were very healthy & a nice size. If I didn't already have 4 established honeyberry bushes, including the borealis, I would have been tempted. I didn't see any currant bushes, unfortunately for me.
