Filmed two small Orcas near Kawau Island in New Zealad. Filmed on DJI Mavic pro. I'm filming from another boat further away and not the one close to them on the video but they kept at a good distance.

This is one of my favorite stops with my Jetski
I lived in Sandspit for a few years. Really magical area. Would move back in a heartbeat.
I recognise that island, spent many a day fishing off the back of it. Saddle Island near mouth of the Mahurangi river.
how did you make the drone fly backwards with activetrack?
I never see a orca in new Zealand I live in Australia mate 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍😎
Somethings videos don't catch is how clean and fresh the air is in the sounds.
Awesome! I wanted to see the drone going overland to the very furtherest & thinnest part of the spit!
Hey, congrats for the video! Really nice! How do you do? I'm thinking in buying one DJI Mavic Air to use active tracking and also in a jetski or something. You had the remote with you on the jetski in a water proof case?
I'm going there for stargazing next week. Plan to visit the park. 8)
Having done this mailboat cruise I highly recommend it for a wonderful days outing
How did you keep the control dry on the ski while filming an how did you mount it ? Great vid tho 🤙🏻
As you can see it was an awesome flat day so I have a camera strap that goes around me neck and the controller sits at chest height. No good it there's lots of splash but I have also put the controller in a bag to keep small splash off it. Drone set to active track so no need to play with controller once set up.
sweet video... some music would make it better to watch but it is good otherwise
Nice video, good work with the drone footage! 0:59 is my favorite shot! Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for posting.
Nice landscape, a sub from me. 1:35 is my favorite shot! Good work with the drone footage, looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for posting.
Very sweet Adam! Check out my few Mavic videos. Im going to try this next week on a boat and see what kind of footage I can get. May I ask, where was the controller? Was someone else controlling it or what? Im just wondering because at one instance at 4:00 the mavic is following you from the nose and then breaks off to get almost a side shot. I wanted to know if someone controlling it did that or the mavic brain is just that sweet!!
On that video my partner was on the beach with the controller but it was in active track. If you have it in active track on trace mode and then you tell the mavic to circle the object you can match the speed you set it to circle at and it will stay at the side of you as it doesn't have the speed to come round the front. Once you slow down a little it then does the effect of going around you. You can also set it to trace and manually bring it to the position you want and then when ready tell it to circle you at the required speed. If I put it to trace and circle round the object it max out at around 38kph going side ways. from behind it will go to around 50kph If you look at the boat one I did last week that's exactly what I did from the side.ruclips.net/video/qPFN-NOHSHo/видео.html On another one I had the controller around my neck and did the same. ruclips.net/video/e5YOxy4GjEM/видео.html
Ahh gotcha! Sorry I dont know why it posted my first comment from my blank account lol. I will be sitting in the back so hopefully I should have good control and view from there. Thanks for the reply and nice videos!
Just remember that you need to keep resetting the home point to the controllers position if your on a moving object especially a boat.
THIS is extremely impressive from a sub 1k drone!!! If you manipulate your motions just right, then you can get some incredibly wonderful shots!!!
Thanks for the comment, just learning and playing around with settings etc. with this clip. Do have some better ones on my channel and just waiting to go out now and find some Orcas, Dolphins or Whales and get something amazing. Drone is amazing and I don't do it any justice in this clip :)
I'm trying this in a couple weeks soley because I saw this video 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Awesome job
Thanks, just loaded another one up from yesterday, launching the retrieving the drone on the jet ski. ruclips.net/video/e5YOxy4GjEM/видео.html
Nice... how far away was your remote ?... Have you tried using it in wifi mode with cellphone in water proof case without remote? need input as i am going on vacation soon and want to see what works best...Thank you
About 500m but it works great up to a few kilometers as long as you land somewhere else than where to took off. Wifi mode isn't that good as there's lots of lag, the only positive in wifi is you would have to keep finding the object to follow. If you do it in wifi probably only good if you set off very slow and don't turn much or fast. I did one in wifi and had to also be a lot further away from the subject to to get them in the shot. Active track much better if you can use that. I take of from the jet ski and land back in my hand when out deep near no land.
That was a really cool perspective! Great video!
Nice video! I've enjoyed, Thumbs up and greetings from the Netherlands
