1999-06 Chevrolet/GMC Door Panel Removal
Просмотров 690 тыс.9 лет назад
Quick instuctions for 1999-2006 (2007 Classic) Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Seirra 1500/2500/3500 Trucks, Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban & GMC Yukon/Yukon XL.
thank you
You just made my life alot easier. Great video.
How bout a window crank?
I'm sure there a ton of videos for that part. I always use a towel, slide it between the panel and handle. You pull it tight and work it around in a circle. The towel will grab the clip and spin it off. Bonus is it will catch it vs using a pick or screwdriver will send it flying. ruclips.net/video/plg2uvr4-qI/видео.html
Thank you! I was missing a step and you helped me locate the screw keeping the panel on!!
Any idea why my door lock switch wont reinstall flush? I took both front panels off and the passenger went back in perfect. The drivers lock switch wont go back in.
Thank you! This was very helpful. Needing this info in "2023" restoring a 2004.
very good video thank you for sharing!
No clip on my 2004 Duramax 2500hd. This didn’t work for me
Are those the Mina gallery vents on hood? Looks sweet
No it is a t20
video title: Single handed door panel removal. Good job. Thank you, sincerely....
Great video. Unfortunately missing a few steps for my 06 Silverado. I have crank windows and a screw at the bottom.
My 99 GMC SIERRA doesn't have that first clip on the panel.
Wow Gracias por enseñarnos como quitarlo y gracias por ponerlo en subtitulo en español
👍
T20 torx for a gmc yukon 05 just a heads up guys
This was very helpful. On my 2005 1500 extended cab, there is another screw (the three you showed, and a fourth) on on the bottom of the panel going straight up into the door. Maybe they only did this on the extended cabs, not sure. Everything else was spot on.
Thanks
The 2003 and probably earlier Silverado's have a lot less screws and clips etc. than the one shown in the video. About half as many actually. If you have manual window cranks there's one clip that you can push down on with flat screw driver and push it off. When you start to put it back on just put the clip on the handle and push it on until it clicks in place instead of trying to put the handle on and then try to put the clip on.
There's another screw under the window and door lock panel... Really wish I knew that was there before I broke that plastic piece behind it.
Thanks I really appreciate it!
👍👍👍👍
I appreciate it
Where can i buy one? The door panel
One of the best vids on this subject out there.
Cool, Thanks.
Getting the door pedal off seems easy but how do you get the pedal off when the driver door won't open lol any trick to getting the door open?
good video and gets right to the point
Torx screw where? I didn't see one.
I have 2001 silverado and the panel doesn't have any of the screws you have shown
Earlier models have less screws. Also, there is a panel behind the lock/unlock switch that falls off.
The older ones (99-03) don’t have all those extra screws and pop rivets
Awesome video. Short and sweet, gets strain to the point and that’s how you do it. Bravo 👏
Thanks for the video 👍🇨🇦
Got some kind of black plastic piece that fell out when I lifted up on him the panel that I cany tell where it goes back. . Anybody else? One hole in the middle and a slot on each end. (Looks important).
That part goes behind the door lock. There are some tabs on the backside of the panel it attaches to. We've had plenty that were missing that piece. They go back together fine and don't seem to have issues.
Punk ass plastic clips! Gorilla glue! Hell, the truck damn near 14 yrs old. Be glad to still got a door on it. Let's go!
Nothing like my 03 2500 hd
That's weird. My dad owns that same truck and it's exactly the same minus less hardware to remove. Love to see a picture. Thx
No buttons on the panel at all... one behind the lock. One bottom and one behind door handle...
2006 2500HD driver's side door Bose speaker isn't working , it looks like the door panel has been off before and not a very good job putting it back on, there's clear tape sticking out from behind the panel in the front. and back. Thanks for this video, simple process but it always helps to know exactly what you're doing and this video accomplishes that. I'm hoping the speaker is the issue or maybe a loose wire and not a blown channel on the radio. Thanks again.
It's likely a bad speaker. If you have the Bose radio, you have a Bose amp. I've never seen one drop 1 channel. They usually just quit. Pull the panel, check wiring, pop test the speaker (you can google how to do that, you may be able to tell right away that its bad just by looking) grab a set of 6 3/4", wire em up, screw then in and do the other side. I like the Memphis SR 6 3/4" coax...fairly inexpensive, sound great and fit well. Best of luck to ya.
99-06 models are very different and I don’t think they should be grouped together in one video.
They are nearly identical. Older models have less hardware than what's shown in the video but removal process is the same.
Elite Auto Solutions, LLC on 2002 you have a hidden screw behind the switch, but on my 2004 if you try to pull the switch first you will break it.
Hum, that's a new one..learn something everyday. We've replaced speakers in literally hundreds of these trucks and I've never seen that. If you happen across a link that shows that I'd love to share it.
I just prayed the panel off with a crowbar and never put it back on.
grin and bear it - 😂😂😂
Hahahaha I changed my speaker about 2 months ago... still driving around with no panel cause took too long to even take off lol
Thank you so much! I had all the screws and plates off. I didn’t realize I could just lift the panel off. I was pulling and tugging all set to destroy the panel. I really appreciate this video!
My speakers didn’t last 30,000 miles and I never cranked on them, mines a crew cab so I changed them all, factory speakers are junk. Now I’m on my 4th time pulling off the door panels, window motors, regulators, tracks, lock actuators etc, all before 55,000 miles. Everything in these doors are junk. Now I’m off to get the rusted out rockers, cab corners, rear wheel arches and all brake lines replaced at 60,000 miles. These trucks were built cheap.
Nice job man. Thank you
It would be nice if your videos were correct because I had to take my door panels off my 2003 Silverado 2500 and there were no clips on the inside of the truck to remove and there was no t20 screw at all and there was a screw on the bottom side of the door panel holding it on the bottom of the door also to help your readers the wiring harnesses are real short to where you have to have patience hold the door panel how to remove the harnesses don't forget you have one at the lower side for your light too
Wish one video would show a door. Thats closed and cant get open in or outside
Short and to the point, very well done. Thank you!
Thank you! This was very helpful when I had to put my window back on the track.
Such a nice year for silverado engine and body, too bad the interior was such a piece of shit
Thanks brother, so much easier now. Had to replace my window motor. Just couldn't get the damn thing off. Didn't know is there was a bolt behind the switch
W1LDERN some models you have to remove the switch and some you do not
I don't have any hidden screws on the edge. 03 Avalanche. Must be clips..
how can i replace the elevator window ¡? the oldone doesnt work anymore
It's been a bit since I've done one, but they aren't to bad. You should be able to find a video about it (I usually post videos for topics that haven't already been covered or haven't been explained well).
