I'll be there from SoCal. Gladiator was my very first mudrun at the Rosebowl in 2012. I've been participating in OCR every since. Great idea with the last run. I missed the very last Gladiator in SoCal and was pretty bombed about it.

I have not even run this, though I have registered and am feeling like I am flying on spirit airlines. "FREE" registration! woot may include service charge and additional fees and more charges. fine still doesn't cost that much might be okay for an intro to this type of running, just for fun. twenty dollars for parking. I am expecting to be charged for a cup of water on site and probably a fee to leave the course after it is done. More and more I am just not happy with this company. I will probably run this just to see what it is like. But I am left with a terrible taste in my mouth about the way they do this.

I think the point of shoecue is to know when you're heel striking via the textured bumps in the heel. If you feel them you're heel striking and need to change your stride until you don't feel them.

Yeah that was a crazy race, my group went at 11 and shoes everywhere it got as deep as 20” deep, crazy and fun...

Thanks for the review. I agree with what you say. I just started OCR early in 2018. The Terrain Race was my first. Then I moved onto the Savage Race. The I ran the Spartan Sprint. I definitely saw and felt the differences in each of these races. I am now hooked on OCRs and plan on doing them every year I am physically able to. My last race of the year will be the Spartan Beast in Nov. After than I will spend the next few months training, until spring of next year. I still plan on beginning my OCR season with a Terrain Race. I think its a good way to "warm up" after a few months of not doing any races (I don't know how I'll bear it) and gauging where I am. I always time myself and notice how well (or awful) I'm doing on an obstacle. I'll do a Terrain Race and a Savage Race at the beginning of my OCR season leading up to the Spartan Races in the late Spring and Fall. I take a short breather during the summer - unless I wanna do a City Challenge or volunteer at races during that time to see and meet the elite racers (and get free races). So I must say that I liked the Terrain Race (much better than some of the other races I've done, like W****R***). Thank you and hope to see you on the course one day!
