I made a ring out of a Nut. But after a day of wearing it, it left a brown ring smudge on my finger. Like copper turns your skin green. Could it be that I didn't sand it silky smooth enough, or is it just a reaction the steele causes?

Well, there was certainly no effort to replicate a patina, This was taken from a piece that had potential for a beautiful aged look, as in cleaning and waxing, to a cheap finish that ruined the surface completely. I would not call that a restoration. This is now scrap metal.

Was that a 3m Roloc Bristle Disc? Thorough job, for sure. What protectant would you use with that to keep it brass colored? And how would you return it to one of the more common bronze shades? I love the medium goldy brown, myself.

I always use WD-40 on the cutting blades. Keeps the aluminum from sticking.

Does that affect the blade at all??

If you use cutting oil or a stick of beeswax it will stop your blade from gumming up👍🏻
