NX500 Australia Episode 6 Fitting Bits Part 1
I quickly show some parts I've fitted.
It's what works for me, so I hope they work for you.
I've tried to keep the budget under control, so I use Amazon, Ebay & AliExpress most of the time.
Like most of us probably have, you can still spend a lot of money on any bike !

Isuzu MUX Dual Battery & Fridge slide Explanation
Hey mate can you give some insight to whether the seat next to fridge slide is still usable with your setup in it? I have 4 kids so need the 1 extra seat but would love to have a fridge in the back
No, sorry the width of the fridge set up is wider than the 50/50 split in the rear third row. About 100mm wider than the seat. But you can fold down one of the second row to still slide in any long items next to the fridge slide set up - if required.
Same engine ,the Rijeu Adventura 500 has 2 X20 ltr tanks and a range of around 1000kms ,
@@lipsee100 isn't this engine a copy made in China whilst the Honda motor is made in Japan by Honda ??
@@NXAussie500 Not so sure the Honda is made in Japan (if it matters) yes the REjeu is made in China(much like everything else. But they are doing stuff no one else seems interested in....Yesterday I went to take a peep at the Kove rally 450,,wow what a bike ,,now theres a bike you could cross the outback on...G/day
Look,I have nothing against fitting pattern aftermarket parts but when they also copy the manufacturers badging and try and pass it off as the real thing then that’s going to far,if they were any good surely they would put their own badge on there and build up their own reputation instead of ruining others?
@stuarthaysom763 yes, I do agree, but I'm just trying to keep costs down on an $11k bike. Thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming.
Genuine GB Racing covers or copies?
@sstat00 well as said in the video, at that price, they are copies..but will do the job well enough for me. Saying that, appear quite thick and strong.
Nice, but missing links to purchase products.
The item descriptions are shown at the end of each segment..all sourced from AliExpress, Ebay or Amazon..
Great video again! Thanks! Do you have a link to the skid plate or in which episode did you feature them 🙂?

Nice Buddy
Nice video sir.. and hello from india… where you installed handlebar grip from?
@@DriftyMilesOfficial hand grips are the Honda heated grips.
Looks great. Did you check the weight for your bike after those upgrades?
@MeAndMyLifeAA yes, that will be covered in part 2..
Have you had any problems with the exhaust since you fitted it as I know some people have had a warning light come on. Enjoyed the content and have subscribed cheers
That looked like a really good day's ride. The steep bits would have been beyond my P-7, but you can't have everything!
Did the 16t conversion on my 21 cb500x - dropped the revs about 300 makes a little bit of difference - probably also correct your speedo and odometer too 😊
You'll see in future episode, I talk about this but the speedo is still out, just not as much.
Great work and great editing ! 💪🏻
Do you have a link for the footpegs?????

I did file mine, but do it in very small amounts as you can't add it back if you overdo it.
Where did u get the t shirt from pls?
About 340klms no problem. We only have one oxygen sensor on the cat, the muffler is replaced after this..
Yes there is a centre stand.. see next episode. 😊 no vibes with the SRC skid plate.
How far have you travelled with the exhaust on now? Most people who have swapped exhausts seem to note an engine management light comes on after a few hundred miles that needs turning off via an OBD2 periodically. Have you encountered this yet? A video of the exhaust note with the Arrow fitted would be great too. Keep up the content 👌 Fyi, I've done a video of fairing panel removal if you need it! ruclips.net/video/qR3Z92LR8q4/видео.htmlsi=A3J4IxdomYtEYHn3
Any vibration or reverbation from the skid plate? Also, can you still fit a centre stand (I think you mention this on another video) with it in place? Great video many thanks
nice mate--- do you find your legs feel cramped?? they look at an acute angle--- im 6 foot as was worried about knee bend, cheers buddy
@@666dualsport legs feel ok for me, but I agree more leg room is better.
I was going to say modifying bikes is almost as expensive as owning a boat (hole in the water, as they say), but then I noticed you appear have one of those as well, ha! Did minimal mods on my bikes when I was younger, mainly because I couldn't afford to do much. Since then, in the 90's modded my K100RT when I had one, just adding factory accessories, 1k or so. F800GS, about 2k in accessories, racks etc. Had that for years, until it got written off. Current bikes, 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan 411, lots of mods, racetech front suspension, YSS rear, SRC crash bars and other protection bits, barkbusters, custom racks I made for Andy Strapz soft panniers, Fuelx pro, performance cam, daylight running and driving lights, probably $2.5 - 3k on a 6K bike. But I have been outback twice on it, took it to Cape York, and a fair bit of bush bashing. My son has a T7, and whilst at 178cm I can ride it ok, due to injuries I find a top heavy bike a pain to pick up now. Damaged discs in the back are no fun. 2019 CB500X SRC rear rack, bashplate, bark busters, 16T sprocket, am considering suspension at around $2.5k or upgrade bike. Use it mostly on tar and easy gravel. One thing with the sprocket if the NX is anything like the CB,is I fitted Motoz Adventure GPS tyres. Great tyres but they threw out the speedo by a lot, indicated 100kph, real 106kph.. Need to fit a speedo healer to correct. Otherwise as you say the bike is great with a 16 tooth up front. The 500x had a nasty buzz right on 100kph, 16 tooth pushed it out to about 105, and since I rarely ride on the freeway, it made it nice and smooth at 100kph. the stock screen sucks though, can''t ride with a peaked helmet without buffeting. A short screen should fix that, better than larger as most are ugly as sin. My son keeps pushing me towards a CFmoto 450. Nice bike but doesn't have the quality feel as the Honda (even one made in Thailand). that is subjective though. It just nice to have a number of capable smaller capacity bike to choose from without breaking the bank.
Interesting summary... Fwiw I've just bought a KTM 390. Great price on the bike itself given KTMs issues; $3k (NZD) to get it properly 'Ready to Ride' incl. panniers & racks, top box etc. My 2016 CB500X... I think probably $4k. Similar to your estimates. Looking forward to your vlogs in the new year.
I found the standard rear shock to to be rubbish on my 22 CB500X. I weigh 75kg and it just bottomed out continually on the hardest setting. Changed it for a YSS remote reservoir shock and the change was incredible. The bikes handling improved and no more bottoming out. This game changing mod was even better than the change to 16t front sprocket. I have downsized from a 1200GS. The fourth BMW GS over 30 years. At 75years the GSs had just become too heavy for me to lift when they fell over. The CB500X has exceeded my expectations.
yes, I'm sure there's always room for improvement. It's likely there will be a suspension upgrade in the future. Thanks
400km range why would you need extra fuel
@@666dualsport possibly for extended mountain trail rides or remote areas here in Australia 🇦🇺
@@NXAussie500 ive done the outback 3 times on a bike--- youll never be that far from fuel😜
I’m selling my beloved BMW 1200GS and am strongly considering the NX500. I’m 75 and would be more comfortable on a lower, lighter bike.
@BlackdogADV I previously had a 1200GS and loved it but yes, the smaller lighter NX500 is great and easy to handle. Just accept less power than the 1200 and you'll love it.
What is your "bigger" adventure bike??
My bigger bike is an Aprilia Tuareg.
I am about to sell my bigger adventure bike as I want something which I can also use as a commuter. I am seriously considering the 500 NX or the cb500x. I am finding your videos very helpful so keep them coming!
Ride the 750 transalp before you do. I went to buy a CB500X a year ago. Hopped on the transalp while waiting for a salesperson. The Transalp felt lighter to chuck side to side and pick up off the side stand. It carries it's weight very low. It's also PFG on fuel. I get 430klms out of 16 litres sitting on the open road speed limit of 100-110kph. Added to that....the transalp motor has huge character. It's a fun engine and with the 270 crank sounds amazing out the box even with the standard pipe. It's aural eargasms.
I got 540 kms ish on a 2013 CB500X that I rented in Thailand some years back. I rode all kinds of roads and the last hour I was riding in fuel save mode as I was nervous of getting out of petrol…😂
Apart from all the street bikes I have ridden off road.... there is also the meaning of the term "on-road" to dissect. For instance, would you call the Oodnadatta Track "on-road"? It is listed as a 'highway'. Pretty demanding to ride a BMW R100/7 up it. Riding that Honda up tracks like that brings back fond memories.
Great looking bike, not too costly and very capable, what more could you ask.
I’ve got the ‘23 CB500x and the fuel range is brilliant. For the money it’s a good bike.
Whats the new spec on the 2025 model
Yeah okay quick left here, how far after going straight ahead did they go 'quick left'
Thanks for the comment! Came here to check out a fellow NX youtuber 🙂 That's crazy good range from the NX!
Looks like a nice bike ..😊
I think if your Speedo is 7km/hr fast at 100kph then so will your trip meter so I reckon you can take 28km off your range for the tank just a thought pity the gps died it may have confirmed this cheers for the video
When are they going to start selling this prototype

Hey mate, I enjoyed watching that. According to my Drivo app, I get an average of 3.6L/100k on my 2019 CB500X. I think it's the same engine isn't it? I did 457km on a tank once but I've never tried to run dry😅.
"My crashing days are over" That is a bold claim! BTW Mark, the Tuggerah Lake path north from Magenta has been opened. The council has done an exemplary job too.
Thanks John, I'll organise a trip down soon. cheers
Thats plenty of protection for a few gravel roads I have done a few 1000ks on one over the last month Its certinly not a T7 type bike But would suit me long term😊
3mm is heaps on this type of bike--- its only for stones flicked up, you wont be bouncing this over boulders or logs
@@666dualsport wait and see...
Transalp is a no brainer . 8 more KG and double HP. and not as top heavy. Selling my 2019 500X. Mine chews the juice over 105km/h.
@teddav976 yes the new 2025 model Transalp could be the next bike !!
I agree totally. 12 months ago, I went into a Honda dealership to buy a new CB500X, hopped on the new transalp while waiting for a salesperson. It felt lighter to pick up off the sidestand and lighter throwing it side to side. I of course bought a TA. 400+klms out of the 16.9 litre tank. 3800rpm at the legal limit in sixth. Heaps of power and torque. Zero regrets.
Try crosspro more durable and tough
@NormanHughesdix the plate looks excellent but not mounted to the engine case..the rear uses two bolts near the oil window..
Go for centre stand skid plate crashbar and YSS rear suspension
I'd like to know more about the visor extension you're using. i noticed a lot of wind noise when riding with just the built in visor. does the extension make a difference? what is the product?
its an Aliexpress cheap one but I'm doing an episode on different screens soon.
Nicely done mate ! I've gotten 452 to the tank, loaded! Out of my 21 model. Enjoy the new toy mate
I'm with you on the T7 being too top heavy. such a great bike to ride and I don't think I could part with mine at this stage. More bikes the better I reckon. looking forward to seeing this beast in action, SRC gear is great. Worth a like and have subscribed to your channel 👍
@dirtbike_viking thank you for the feedback.. I'll be working hard to be creative and hope everyone enjoys the coming episodes.
First time in this channel 👍🏻 I'll tell you something maybe its worth it 😅 This episode is so interesting 🤔..i do enjoyed it... Keep it up 💯 👌🏻 Greetings 🇸🇦 🌴 new subscriber 😊
just gotta hope the engine mounts dont crack like on some cb500s
I'm not aware of those but I can see that it could happen if impacted hard enough. I certainly don't intend to. No hard enduro cliff climbing for me.
Power comparisons to other bikes you've owned would be good, Thanks for the videos
ok, will do.
How much?
@pauls8456 yes, good question, in Australia $395.
@ thanks looks good.
