We loved our experience on Celebrity Reflection! Princess is just a bit more attention to detail, but both brands are great!!!

We like to start on the older, smaller ships. We believe our cruise experience should be the same on an old ship as well as a new one or whether we are on a 3 day or 13 day cruise. But I’ve heard the Edge class ships were beautiful! Reflection was also a very beautiful ship! Yes! His face says it all! Lol. His patience with all of my shenanigans is unmatched! 😂

@@silverwolfe2003 There is a tram right where you disembark the ship. This tram will get you to the end of the pier. You will then need to take a second tram to get you around the island. They seem to run pretty frequently, however we were in port with Wonder of the Seas, so they filled up quickly. Enjoy your cruise!

@@kevinmccaffery2147 We are aware of that, however Royal Caribbean’s branding is Perfect Day at Coco Cay. Key doesn’t rhyme with their branding strategy.

@@heatherhernandez4304 Thankfully we had access to the balcony for the entire transatlantic crossing, even while seas were rough for a day. On rough days we did lose access to the table and chairs. The cabin steward tied down the balcony furniture to keep it from moving around.

I’ll start by saying this RUclips channel is not a business. It is a collection of our personal vacation videos with opinions and experiences that we’ve been creating well before there was a RUclips channel. We don’t aim to be politically correct and we enjoy the freedom to just be us. The term “old money vs. new money” is an expression and used in this video in the context of service level. Old money expects a certain level of service and will hold a brand to the standards they advertise. New money accepts the standard as is and enjoys the flashiness of a brand and is willing to forgo the finer details required to achieve higher standards. For example, the bottled water on Celebrity is bottled Miami-Dade tap water and tastes horrible. You must ask for premium water to receive water that’s palatable. Princess however offers great quality water to all guests. Another example is having multiple ice and juice machines broken in the lido buffet leading to very longs lines. That’s not the hallmarks of a premium brand. There’s other areas where both Celebrity and Princess fall short and we will give our honest opinion when the need arises. @@dakotaz11 While we respect your opinion, we said what needed to be said and the expression “old money vs. new money” is perfect for explaining the difference between a mass market brand (Princess) that caters to more mature consumers and a mass market brand (Celebrity) that caters to a younger and broader consumer. One brand provides a premium experience to all guests as a base level of service, while the other brand offers a base Royal Caribbean experience to all guests with upgrades to “premium” service as a paid option. That’s a class system on Celebrity where only a select few can enjoy the “premium” aspects of the cruise. We have completed almost 50 sailings across multiple lines, we know what premium is supposed to look like and Celebrity must do more to live up to their advertising.

It’s all about personal preference and the variety of brands and choices is what makes cruising fun. We just prefer a premium experience as a baseline and the option to upgrade to suite benefits would just be an add on to that premium experience.

Thank you! That makes perfect sense as to why Celebrity now feels more like a mass market brand. We made the comparison with Princess cruises because it’s a direct competitor in the premium cruise market and to us Princess offers a more tailored service thanks to their wearable Medallion and app. If Celebrity made that one change and offered premium service to all guests regardless of loyalty level, it would be perfect.

Thanks! 3 day sailings are new for Celebrity and so far they only sail 3-day cruises from Fort Lauderdale. Port Everglades is 30 minutes north of Miami.

Thank you so much for this comment! We loved St. Thomas and it’s great to hear the excursion was as good then as it was now! We heard there were many wealthy business owners with homes on the mountain at Paradise Point so it wouldn’t surprise me about the owner of Taco Bell. We love making the videos and we do it for fun! We have all of these videos in the cloud on our devices…they needed to go somewhere! Lol. But hopefully we get more people to enjoy our adventures!

This itinerary was excellent. In Tortola, we did the open air bus tour that went to Purser’s Landing. It was pretty extensive tour of the whole island. Purser’s Landing not much to see. The tour was about 3 hours. We will show a bit of that tour in an upcoming video. Stay tuned!

Hey Danielle! It’s been a long time, how are you! We do Celebrity and MSC for short weekend getaways and long cruises on Princess and Holland America. Got a bunch booked through 2026! What ports do you embark from?

We were also surprised the sail away was so energetic! That band was very talented and versatile. They did a wide range of songs throughout the cruise every day and was by far the best band we’ve seen on a Princess cruise!

Thanks! We’re very familiar with the locations of a ship because we own a boat and sail often. However while on vacation, exploring the different classes of ships across various cruise lines without first looking at the deck plans is part of the fun of cruising.
