This is gonna be pretty long just an FYI.... Jade is definitely insecure but from her home life I can see why, her dad never cared about her and we don't know literally anything about her mom. People must have made fun of her and degraded her for being herself (like calling her; weird, mean, a gank and so on) plus Beck was like the only person she really TRULY loved so she was scared that some other "better" girl will come and take him away from her, leaving her heartbroken and even more alone. As for Beck, I kinda feel like at some point before the show Beck might have been SA'd bc every time a girl flirts with him or touches him he seems obviously uncomfortable but doesn't really say anything other than maybe a few hints here and there that he's uncomfortable. Almost, if not, every time Jade steps in, his body posture seems to relax even if his face may be annoyed. Idk I'm prob reading way too much into it but yeah...
Actually, your thing makes a lot of sense. He was a little bit submissive all the time. He was actually a people pleaser. Remember in the episode (Beck's big break) he did not argue that he wasn't wrong. He just accepted that she was right because he never wanted to fight and say harsh words to other and that's why he liked Jade because Jade would always do that for him. Like during their break in season 3 when trina was saying she would never fight and started to touch him, he was ready to go to Jade again but then he changed his mind because she gave him an ultimatum and he knew where it would end.
As much as them together had many issues and would not work in real life for clear issues, It was such a interesting relationship as in a way they both needed each othet Jade was so outspoken and done things her own way and no one elses, Causing her to have a heavy presents and saying or doing whatever she wanted, One of the only people that could somewhat tame her and she liked being around for more then 5 minutes was Beck Beck on the other hand as he stated in a episode likes girls who fight back and have a loud voice, He likes girls who are a challange have a a explosive personality which one of the only (main)characters to fit his taste was Jade Even though it was messy and times toxic it was still a cool thing to witness, They do have their downsides too of course like every couple have and times they should NOT have been together but by the end came back to each other showing just how much they loved one and other despite the complictated dynamic between them, It made them different and show real life couple issues at the samw time
