On Sept 28 2024 I was proud to open the Eton Rugby Airport (AKA The Field of Dreams) to any and all who wanted to come and enjoy a BBQ. The Dryden Airport FBO sponsored the event, and the manager Del was there manning the grill! Aircraft from all around the area made the trip into my 2100 foot strip. The Field of Dreams cabin will soon be available to guests who want to fly in and get away from...
Loki goes for his first flight in my RV6

Our 2 year old Sheltie loves the Field of Dreams, and today he comes with me for his first airplane ride! I bought a tactical harness for him, and he loves wearing it, and it gives me something to fasten the seatbelts through to keep him in the right seat during the flight, but it's still a pretty loud environment doe a dog, so I have bought him some dog earmuffs for future flights.

I have sold my first plane, and I'm a little sad to see it go, but I think it's going to a good home, and there's a very real possibility it will drop in to the Field of Dreams once it's back in the air!

FLYING MY RV6 WITH MY DAUGHTER TO LUNCH IN NESTOR FALLS
A great series. Thanks for sharing with us. Watching from Port Huron, Michigan area
Stay tuned for more.... hope to have many more events and episodes for the channel :)
You did what I want to do. Nice video
I'm so glad I didn't buy a 6A, the first few fights where I was having trouble adapting to the RV had me wondering if I'd made a huge mistake, but once I got comfortable I really started to enjoy the tail dragger RV! don't let the tiny wheel at the back scare you... I'm no expert but I have landed in 25-30 knot x winds and had no trouble at all!
Summer 2025 it looks like we'll be flying with a group of planes in your neck of the woods - current routing takes us to CYOO - CYZE - CYAM - CYSP - CYGQ - CYXL - CYRL outbound to CYAV and then CYQK on the way back before we dip into the US on our way back South. Interested in joining for some of the trip?
I would love to, hopefully the scheduling works out! shoot me an email and we can work out the details drydenflyguy@gmail.com
just a heads up...CYQK is not very GA friendly CYHD is a much better choice.
What are you using for a canopy shade above your head?
Its actually a thin piece of grey plastic bonded to the canopy...it was in it when I bought it. not a fan :/
The actual video itself is cool. Not trying to be rude but your narration is actually very boring. No energy in your voice what so ever.
ya... this is some of my early work... hopefully I'll get better with practice :)
@@billbrisson like I said your videos are actually pretty good. Just need more energy in your voice. Have a good day. Fly safe.
Your own field? And it sounds like you get along with the management. So sweet, congrats!
Just me, the wife and the dogs :)
LOVING your videos. Great in cockpit and external views, enjoying your narration in all the videos too. Two thumbs up from CYQT. 👍🇨🇦👍
you will have to experience it in person soon!!
Bill .. WOW what a GREAT event, great video and awesome aircraft. I recognized a few aircraft from Kakabeka Flying Club CKG8. “Build it and they will come”. 😊👍🇨🇦👍. CONGRATULATIONS on a successful first fly in, hopefully one of many.
It was a great day for sure! stay tuned for future events!!
Another AWESOME video. CONGRATULATIONS from CYQT. Looking forward to completing my PPL this spring and getting my Avid Magnum up in the air. Once I’m flying her I’ll definitely arrange a trip down to see your “ Field of Dreams”, that would be so cool! 👍🇨🇦👍
can't wait to see that!
Interesting music. Must be Pete Seger.
Justin Johnston
Followed the entire series.. Fantastic .. good job
My name is Michael Berhanu from Ethiopia located in Africa, first I would like to appreciate your program and am glad to know you, I am in construction business for the last 9 years, I have my own company named KIDUS GRANITE AND MARBLE PLC . I am very very interested to having my own small plane and to learn ppl. To tell you honestly flying is my dream starting from I am kid still now, am 37 years I am married and having one 7 years girl. I am very passionated when I saw your videos. Thanks
Next summer!
Cool Video Bill! thank you!
Wow, amazing turn out Congrats.
Very smart decision on the 150!
Last thing I wanted was someone bending an airplane! I was glad I could help out, the pilot of the 150 was a little worried, and when I offered to fly his plane to CYHD he thought it was a great idea!
The 150 with two people and full fuel is the classic "you can get in, but you might not get out" aircraft. With the treetops trimmed a little it would be fine
@@TheSportFlyer-xy6sn I agree, but I didn't want anyone to bend an airplane at my first event, so we took the cautious route and I flew it out of there for them :)
Pretty cool stuff Billy . Thanks for sharing that .
Great video Bill. Hopefully I can stop in some time.
always welcome!
..next time, we'll get you a neck brace so I don't get vertigo watching it. ..... lol Great video Bill.
Now just dig a long ditch for us float guys
2NM north is Rugby lake 😁
Awesome video, glad you had great weather!
Beautiful, I’ll love to come visit next year 🎉
love to have you drop in
Just so happy to see the fruits of your labor. I remember when this was just a twinkle in your eye
I posted a comment but they have disappeared...twice? How come?
I don't know??? 🤨
@@billbrisson I posted that HMB landed at my airfield many years ago and put a link to some pictures....maybe that is why it did not post. 🤷♂
@@Deg99 I'd love to see them! drydenflyguy@gmail.com
I'm a better co pilot. lol
😄
That is AWESOME Bill. Looking forward to seeing you again.
Nice flying
Lovely, wholsome video! Love your humility! I'm in the market for an RV6A myself, but you've made me consider the RV6. 🙂
I was a bit worried initially, but had some tailwheel time, and I was in really good hands flying with Luke Penner, even this old dog learned a few new tricks, so glad I bought an RV6 without the “A” Get a good instructor and you’ll be fine, the RV’s are amazing taildraggers
CONGRATULATIONS from CYQT. 👍😀👍
Encreidble need some aspalth and there you have it ! A airport!
real airplanes like the grass :)
The hardest transition from flying your typical Cessna or Cherokee is the tailwheel training. Flying the RV is easy after that.
I had a fair bit of tailwheel time before I bought the RV, so that helped a lot. of the tailwheel planes I flew before and after, the RV is by far the best handling taildragger I have flown.
Great looking PA-12. Where did you get the shoulder harness from ?
That’s a good question…. I’d have to check with the Dryden Flying Club on that one😎
Good job Bill, Thank you for theses great images!
And now I'm the very proud owner of the Rooster.
that's awesome! you'll have to drop in to the Field of Dreams and visit!
shoot me an email at drydenflyguy@gmail.ca and we can have a conversation :)
@@billbrisson would that be .ca or Com ?
Would love to. As soon as i get my rec license ill come out your way. @billbrisson
@@jameshiebert4230 I have a couple goodies for Rooster...
very cool, you buiding a hangar there for it? keep it there?
I have a hangar at the Dryden Airport, so it’s not likely I’ll build one right away, but maybe one day
Awesome brother
thanks. have a look at the latest episode on the channel..... I've come a long way :)
Oh Billy! Nicely done. Proud of your accomplishments. Nick and I would love to come up and visit and fly! I'm retired now. Nick is still working his behind off.
can't wait for you to see it first hand! there's always a place for you guys to stay!
My Sheltie's favourite place on earth was the airport. He owned my yankee. Man I miss him. Great video!
He just loves the airport! Did you take him. Flying?
@@billbrisson no, unfortunately not. He was a big boy and probably a tight fit trying to get him in a Yankee. He loved to guard his plane!!
@@grummansteve I've got a vest for him, and I'm going to test fit him into the right seat with the seatbelts and see how he does. That's likely a whole episode in it's self :)
@@billbrisson if I would have started flying him as a puppy it would have been easier. They also have ‘mutt muffs’ for hearing protection. Can’t wait to see the video! Cheers!
@@grummansteve if he looks like he likes the ride I'll get him a set of muffs for sure!
Looks great Bill, looking forward to flying in for a visit!
can't wait to have someone fly in! thinking about hosting a fly in BBQ in September... Stay tuned for updates 😎
Sept 21 is the date! Fly In BBQ at the Field of Dreams!
Hello...Anymore videos of project 47 coming in near future?
I hope to have some updates soon, the summer has had me busy with building and maintaining runways at the Field of Dreams, but hopefully ill have time to get some new episodes out on the Jeep project. Just uploaded a new episode in the Field of Dreams playlist... check it out!
Yo I was there I’m in the video 😂
Happy birthday dear Tom sir.
I was AOG in Arnprior for 4 days once, turned our to a wire shorting out voltage regulator. 😢. Time to spare , go by air😂 Nice video btw Bill.
Thanks…. Working on the next episode of the series now
Your sound system Sux !
Thanks…. If you watch some later episodes on my channel you’ll be happy to see the audio is better…. There was a learning curve to this 😎
Nice job Bill, that would probably work on my Funk B. Just what I needed 👍
It's amazing what you can come up with from some old bits and pieces if you are willing to spend some time on it :)
Well done! See you tomorrow (again, hopefully). 1st time viewer. New subscriber.
sadly the winds were wicked in Dryden Saturday and I didn't make it to Carman this year :(
Runway look good Bill. Hope you get a good catch of grass 👍

Great job on the roller, looks great.👍
Thanks.... filled it with water and rolled the field last week... weighs a little over 12000 lbs
Great Job. How did you weld all the parts together? did you braze?
I used my MIG welder, it is nice for fabricating stuff, here's a link to the 11' roller I built for my runways... ruclips.net/video/3pOFUh8EcWA/видео.html
