I was doing my student teaching when this magnificent production aired. I had a class of seniors studying English literature. We all watched it. I honestly thought it had been lost to the ages. How wonderful to find it again!!!

So happy to finally be watching this again! I've never forgotten it, one of the best of many Hamlet productions that I've seen. Wonderful performances, and a clever switch from medieval or modern day costumes to Napoleonic era. Plus an interesting bit of casting, with the Ghost portrayed by Sir John Gielgud, one of the great stage Hamlets.

I can't believe I found this after so many years! I'll never forget the night it premiered. Although I'd always loved films, Chamberlain's performance introduced me to theater and lit a fire for it that has never died. Thank you, Richard! And thank you, Stybz!

Oh my god, I remember watching Hamlet 1969 in the Rep. Theater in Birmingham when I was a au pair girl in London with my au pair family and that made me fall in love with R. C. All loved this smart young american actor. Unforgetable.

This was an awesome movie. Very interesting, sad & educational. Paul Michael Glaser was excellent in it & I noticed he wore his shirt open. Must be a trademark for him. Now I see how he was so fantastic in Starsky & Hutch. He is an amazing actor & director. Wee all miss him.

I was involved in this When it happened of the Coast of Key West Fla. It was nothing like the movie & the Men who were trapped in the Sub all Died. I & 3 other Navy Seamen were Running out Oxygen Bottles & other thing on a constant basis & did not Stop till it was over. Our Final Run out to the Ship was to take Body Bags. We also took out News Reportes on runs. When we Tied up to the ship & took the Body bags on Board, they asked us if we would like to [pay our respects & we told them Yes. They were still in the Mini Sub on Deck &we looked into the Portholes & it looked as if they were just Sleeping. . They finally were able to free the Sub from the Bottom, but it was to Late. I am now 72 yrs old & I will never forget it. I was stationed in Key west on my Last Duty Tour.
