Yes, Crichton was such a good writer. There were only a few I don’t like much. You should read Dragon Teeth. It’s about the bone wars. I really liked that one too. I don’t like any as much as Jurassic Park and The Lost World. But Timeline and Dragon Teeth are my next favorites by him.

I have read all of Stephen King's books. The one major problem that I have with Misery is the two or three times he uses that r*pe analogy. If I were to reccomend a couple to you personally they would be "The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon" which is very good and by far his cleanest book (it would be middle grade but there's 1 f word) "Duma Key" is fantastic and contains less of the things you are sensative to.

My 24 in 2024 list were all books I physically owned! Still working my way through it.

Our family loves The Wingfeather Saga. 😊 I still haven’t read The Phantom of the Opera. I love A Christmas Carol too.

I'm one who will die on the hill that Stephen King is overrated. I have dnf 4 or 5 of his books and finished 2.

LOVING your thoughts on this book, K-tree! I have a love/hate relationship with King and his books. He's an excellent storyteller w/a fascinating imagination. I just really wish his books were cleaner and depicted children and women better. @0:06 - Like you, I was also inspired by Ian & Ashlynn Gubeli to read Stephen King recently. I read and enjoyed several of King's books & watched and loved King films & miniseries as a teenager and have to admit they probably influenced me in a bad way at the time. I hadn't touched his books since... until last year when... I mistakingly decided to go with King's first book, Carrie, and forced myself to get at least halfway through it, at which point I decided not to finish it with strong feelings about it, some of which I put in my review on Goodreads. This has to be King's worst book by far and I highly recommend not wasting your time on it. I read The Shining last month and although I have some problems with it, it held my attention and was much better than Carrie (rated it 3 stars), so I'm reading its sequel Doctor Sleep next week. Also, like Ashlynn Gubeli, I'm reading King's Fairy Tale this month. Due to Ian Gubeli's praise for it, I'll be reading The Stand this fall, and due to Ashlynn's praise for it, I'll be reading Pet Sematary this fall. I'm on a mission to find a King book I can rate higher than 3 stars.

So this book made you MISERABLE??? haha. Yeah i don't think I'll ever read or watch horror because it just I just don't get how it could be entertaining idk maybe some aren't that bad but 😅
