Rad Foster Dad
США
Добавлен 16 мар 2012
I am a foster/adoptive dad. I have adopted 3 kiddos and had the honor of fostering 10+, ages ranging from 2 weeks to 8 years.
I show my day to day experiences about foster care, mental health (I’m bipolar depressive), woodwork, metalwork, outdoor adventures (hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, and pretty much everything else), and the most important part of my life, being a Stay at Home Working Dad.
I have been married to my bride since 2020 and we started fostering in 2021. Due to medical conditions we decided to not have bio kids of our own but we both wanted a BIG family. Most of my videos will have the WHY behind our family and our life together.

5 Things I Wish I Knew Before Getting Sober | Sobriety Sunday
Просмотров 134 часа назад
Getting sober isn’t easy-it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. But after 8 years of sobriety, I’ve learned some lessons that I wish someone had told me at the start. Whether you’re struggling to stay sober, thinking about quitting, or just looking for some encouragement, this video is for you. Here’s what I cover: 1. Why sobriety isn’t linear and why relapses don’t make you a failure. 2. How y...
Psych Out Saturday- Visiting but not dwelling on the past. Coping with sobriety and mental health
Просмотров 87 часов назад
This week, I’m diving into my tried-and-true method for staying grounded in sobriety and mental health. Spoiler alert: it involves giving the past a quick visit-not a full-blown camping trip-so I can remember what rock bottom looks like without falling back into it. If you’ve ever dealt with the shitty committee (you know, those voices that tell you you’re cured when you’re absolutely not), or ...

Ha. That was me earlier when trying to do the dishes. I walked in the kitchen at least 4x and did something totally different. I finally did them while the kids were eating.

I think each month should have its own color so you don’t even need to waste time reading it to know which month it is.
Hahahhaha
My go to strategy is to lay on the floor and pretend I am a carrot.

I'm drunk right now. So I shouldn't really be talking, but in my opinion, your best option is just to keep yourself busy. I find when I'm working and keeping my mind off of it helps out a lot. I actually smoke pot every day for the last 8 years. Until I ended up quitting my job and so obviously in order to pass a drug test, I've got 2 Keep sober. Other than alcohol, because apparently, that's not a drug. So I've been drinking periodically, which also helps, but it's definitely not a great option. You shouldn't switch from one drug to another. Just to keep sober if you know what I mean.
Also how do you sleep with a newborn I’ve been told the secret is you don’t?
Sleep… what’s that?! More like cat naps.
Can I use my Red Bull as creamer in my espresso?

Gotta hand it to you all!! I'm exhausted already!

Ive been drinking and smoking weed for the last 2 years straight, I do need to stop nd do something else instead of this
Take a look at some of my older videos. I’ve been 8yrs clean and sober. The two years prior to getting sober were definitely my hardest. Subscribe to my channel to get a little motivation. You can message me any questions or post them as a comment here.

WWE Rad Foster Dad edition!!
A good book has been my recent escape from the shitty committee.
Man this is great. Ive never been one to have anxiety but ive been going crazy after a recent surgery. Im like 3 days out and just hate it. Hang in there and thanks for the things that i will now be looking into
Glad you getting better god bless
I looked up this video because I had neck surgery on June 11th 2019 and the day after I started having severe panic attacks. This is not like me. Someone said it is from the anesthesia. Well they released me to go home and they got worse. I tryed a lavender scented candle, tea, distracting myself but I ended up just pacing the floor so I finally got in my car and drove listening to piano music...that helped.Had I of known what a nightmare this was going to be I would never have done the surgery. I literally felt like I could not breathe. I don't drink or do drugs except for what I was prescribed. I have even cut back on my coffee for fear that it may trigger an attack. I would just like to get my life back..oh and my voice...that's another thing that freaked me out.lol..funny..not funny...lol..Jules
I recently had lung surgery, and I have also been suffering from severe anxiety attacks. What I can tell you is that the human mind is complicated, but it most likely isn't a permanent state of mind. Surgery is traumatic, and it scares us. Keep strong, keep your loved ones close, and I believe everything will work out :) Btw maybe you're totally good now this is 8 months later lol but wanted to help
Great video! Subbed.
Don't forget to subscribe.... I'll be doing these on a more consistent basis since my surgery is a week out and I need a distraction from being bored. To me boredom is the worst for my shitty committee and I drank a lot when I was bored.

Far from alone....There's always that feeling that nobody understands. When a person establishes the courage to open up, they're surprised to hear what others have endured...Some conquered, some still fighting and other who gave up. There is NEVER a way to get that initial relief one finds in their vice(alcohol, drugs, etc). Always remember, there is always an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean, a seat at the table.
