Nate's Dryer Vent Cleaning

We are "Certified Dryer Exhaust Technicians" based out of Brevard County Florida.
We're a full service dryer vent company specializing in cleanings, repairs, full installs and the installation of other products that further optimize dryer performance &/or safety. Unlike MOST dryer vent companies who do NOT take apart the dryer to clean the interior of the machine - we do.
Dryer Fires are the 6th leading cause of house fires in the USA. Anyone serious about reducing that risk should have BOTH the vent and dryer cleaned. Dryer fires start IN the dryer, not the duct. A dryer vent cleaner who comes & only cleans your dryer exhaust but NOT your dryer is potentially leaving you at risk - since, the most effective and immediate way to reduce that risk is to remove the flammable lint that builds up in the machine itself!
We educate homeowners about these real dangers so they can make a fully informed decision. We also consult with dryer vent companies who want to learn how to do dryers.

Crappy dryer vent. Attic vents should be illegal.
@@UncoordinatedPixie 😆 🤣
Where is yhe video of the part of attaching it to wall . Can you link of all your products in this video
@TheGlow30 if you're interested in products look up Dryer Flex or G.E Flex. You can find some of these products and more at inovate.com/ If you need instructions on connecting it to the wall please message me on Instagram or Facebook and I'll make a short video just for you (tomorrow) & will send it to you after you contact me.
You might wanna clean the outer tub, that top part is nasty
@Curiousity874 I don't run that shop. However that's what they are doing, cleaning it and making sure all the parts work before selling it.
You state that the union between the dryer and connector hose should be a friction fit. Of course it should, what could go wrong? As soon as you rely solely on a friction fit it's only a matter of time before it starts to leak, blow lint through the seams, and eventually come off.
@egondzintars8209 this is why we also clamp it on the dryer side, it's just not shown in the video. Clamping it is q good preventive method to mitigate what you're describing. However what your suggesting doesn't frequently happen (at least in our experience)
@@NatesDryerVentCleaning another observation is that you show the male-female junction between the connector hose and wall to be reversed. Doesn't this promote lint buildup due to an exposed raw edge?
@egondzintars8209 we have never found this to be the case at our return visits. Likely b/c thr airflow is at its max passing thru that area.
This video sucks.
Roof vents should be illegal. Dryers aren’t meant to push moisture and lint up or along long stretches of ducting.
Ugh. Roof vents. They should be illegal. Dryers aren’t meant to shove moisture and lint up or along long stretches of ducting.
@UncoordinatedPixie thanks for sharing your opinion. I disagree and I think you would to if you were fully informed. For starters, Science tells us hot air rises. Second, most vent that go up to yhe roof have no turns or Maybe a 45 degree. Even if it had a 9p degree turn or two it's sometimes still the best option in relation to where the laundryroom is located. Additionally lint is super light weight and with the vast majority of dryers blowing at 3,300-3,500 feet pet minute, with the right vent cover lint easily discharges outside in vertically run ducts. I van validate that by seeing how, not so dirty the duct is for our repeat customers after a year or sometimes 2yrs between services.
Thanks for sharing!
@@thegoldenruleappliancerepa6840 happy to help!
Roof vents should be illegal.
@UncoordinatedPixie why's that? Hopefully you really mean against building code rather than illegal which is a criminal matter.
Just did this. Only advice to anyone who tries this. Make sure you keep an eye out on the screw length 😂
Yea back want come off ours just starting making a scraping sound like metal to metal its this set washer dryer been nothing but junk
You got it wrong too
@@darrenhurst6650 please, my all means, elaborate.
Excellent thanks so much!!
Nice work Nate! Thanks for posting, always educational.
@stevenmpeter appreciate your comment and viewership! If you ever want a certain video lmk I always try and accommodate
@ have you done a dryer wall box install vid before?
@stevenmpeter that's a negative and that's one video that I will not be uploading we don't install them. I think it's a great product but the reason why we don't install them is because most of the homes around here already have it and older homes that don't it's typically because it's a 2 by 4 wall
Why didn't you just reuse the chase that was already there? Jusy ovalize the 4" duct like you said in the video...
@davidmcelrath5436 thanks for watching and your comment. Code doesn't allow ovalizing any longer (although it's not stated that way). Furthermore it's bad practice, it does cause airflow problems (back pressure). I don't think that original duct was the correct code compliant gauge and we don't re-use material when we do installs we use our own.
You are correct, that is a lot of lint. Good work bud ❤
What a mess!! Was it a credit card at 36 sec?
@cactuspear7422 Great eye! It was a restaurant gift card with $25 remaining on it.
Hi Nate. My local store used to carry an exhaust that got right back in place after stretching it; No need to carefully push it back together. Do you know what they are called? I would love to order this online but I can't find it. Many thanks
@@cactuspear7422 might you be referring to the Dryer Flex?
@@NatesDryerVentCleaning It doesn't seem to be. If I stretch the duct and let go, it would go back to its original size by itself. Sounds like a dream 😅 but I'm serious
@cactuspear7422 I'd be curious to know what product that is. Sounds like a nice feature but the dryer fles does expand and contract. The product your mentioning might have that neat feature but could fail to meet Safety standards and could reduce airflow.
My duct in the wall is a squarish oval 4 3/4" x 4", but the dryer side is 4". Will a 5" tube work if I wrap with the end with tape first and clamp over top?
@jimmb1110 so you either have a 5 inch dryer exhaust which is unlikely or a 4 inch exhaust which is partially or fully ovalized. Ovalized duct is no longer considered good practice and does effect the airflow a little. In saying that, if your duct is 4 inch then whatever connector hose you're attempting to install will need to match the shape/ size so you may need to use some light hand strength to ovalize that section only where it connects to the main exhaust, not the dryer side.
@@NatesDryerVentCleaning Thank you for your response. Whoever installed originally didn't have it fully over the duct opening and used a bunch of tape. If I bend the hose to the shape of an oval, it flat out won't fit. It's like trying to put a watermelon in a sock. I was hoping to find a hose with a more flexible end, but that doesn't seem to exist. A wider hose is all I can think of.
@jimmb1110 did you buy the dryer flex? It's the most durable and flexible product I've personally found. If you didn't buy the dryer flex what did you purchase?
@@NatesDryerVentCleaning I purchased whatever was in stock at Lowes prior to me seeing this vid. What I have will bend but not stretch. I can try that brand if you believe it is different.
@jimmb1110 would love to further consult but I need a link or picture sent to me of what you purchased. U can send a pic to my FB or IG account or via email - or - drop a link in the comments.
Great product but concerned about the width as it pertains to squirrels lifting flap and entering. Have you had any reports of this with your DryerJack installs?
@OldCarsRule negative. This is literally the best product on the market. The damper seals better than other ones which helps with critter intrusion. The cover is required to have a damper & the dryer Jack has a heavy duty gauge damper door. Further more the vent is vertical. We tell folks the changes of a critter going into a vent most especially a vertical vent is like hitting the lottery almost. A vertical vent there's not a platform to walk on or build a nest on, they have to deal with gravity. Furthermore animals can't live in a dryer vent because when they dryer is on the exhaust system is incredibly hot.
@@NatesDryerVentCleaning Thanks very much for getting. I really appreciate your incite. I have been seriously considering a DryerJack.
How many inches did you go from the vent? Also, thanks for the video!
@kelsir4184 not exactly sure what you mean. Can you ask it differently so I can better understand?
How many inches, from the top opening of the vent, did you cut out? You mentioned "remove the section of drywall, up to here." What were your approx cut out dimensions?
@kelsir4184 thanks for the clarification. The duct is 4 inch in diameter. You also need a minimum of one inch on either side to get your fingers around the duct to tape it, etc. So I'd recommend a 6-8 inch wide and 6-8 inch high. Hopefully that helps.
@@NatesDryerVentCleaningyay!!!😊

Nice work Nate! Are you doing all the vacuuming thru the exhaust port and not needing to remove the drum?
@stevenmpeter we describe what we do as minimal disassembly. We don't [need] to take out the drums for effectively clean it. Somewhere around 25-35% of the dryers we get into are by simply taking the exhaust pipe out of the machine. All LGs and Samsungs we currently do this way among some GEs also. I have a Playlist on the channel of videos I've filmed taking apart a variety of dryers. Have you seen it?
@@NatesDryerVentCleaning I will watch them today.
Would have been nice if you showed how difficult it is to hookup the wall part to the hose😊😊..noticed you skipped that part of the process 😂😂😂 Come on mannnnnnnnn
@GotSomeNeedMore it's not difficult although we do hear often that it is from homeowners . Should I take that comment as a video idea and make a video ASAP?
@NatesDryerVentCleaning I did it myself and it's like plastic man skills to get it on the wall vent. Had to snip the 4" hose and then wrap around the wall vent ..the wall vent is 4.5-5" wide. Using the same typing hose, flexible and easy to manage. Getting new washer n dryer in 30 days, curious as to how they hook it up, materials etc. I heard the looser materials are fire hazard since lint can build up much easier..will change to hard hose afterwards if they install with cheaper materials
Can't believe the chunk of lint didn't cause a 2 alarm blaze!
@HighSierraBob precisely! The more lint = greater the risk
I dream to one day do a job like this. Great work Nate 🫡

Can the flexible hose easily be cut and worked with? I need one like 10” long.
@wakawaka1976 yes absolutely you cut cut it with ant type of knife. After doing so you'll need to snip the wire.
Ok…. Our dryer hose goes to the floor… but from under the house to the exhaust that exits the wall is basically a right angle but a couple inches to the left directly below the hole from the floor… Guess I could try this and see if it works… like a right angle elbow would fit if the hole in the wall wasn’t to the left.
Same bro it sucks dick
i installed a Mag vent this weekend- it’s fantastic
@jcravatt1 they're a good product. I typically only recommend them for certain situations that are a minority. But I don't recommend them if the use of their 90 degree turn is also needed to be used.
This is what i want to do. We are having a deck built, 20 inch height. But the vent is going to be below the deck and i didnt think that would be correct. To much moisture constantly under the decking. Any suggestions for the same situation for a water spigot? Thanks
? They say not 100% sure that it has paper between aluminum sheet & it can cause a fire
@peterodriguez5636 the dryer flex absolutely can not "cause a fire". It's the most fire resistant transition hose on the market. There's a ton of videos of people doing demos trying to light that on fire versus other material and that product is the best.
Haven’t done one in brick (yet) but the right tools make the job look easy!
I like this a lot!
Nice one 👍🏻
I too love it! Great delivery.
Can you post a link to thr hose? I have the same setup and cant get it to go over the oval wall connector without bending it
Do you have a foil hose?
I love it bro! Very well done.
Thank you kindly my good friend! I'm hoping to be in touch with you this coming weekend!
Thank you!
I don't know why people make them to have to take apart to clean. I think they should make a panel and drawer that opens on the bottom even if it's 2 in tall to get to that part to clean out the lint.
Really appreciate this video. Had looked forever on my phone for something to tell me how to remove the front of this very dryer and could not find one. I got on my computer, and this was the first video I found. I also needed access to repair my daughter's dryer. Thank you for being so helpful!
How you vacuum water from the line if it somewhere in the middle of the line and line about 30-40 ft long?
It's easier to consult if you send me messages to my Instagram or Facebook page or my personal profile. But I'd first ask, your your dryer vent exhaust underground or above a ceiling running horizontally? I have a video on my channel showing how to evacuate water from an underground duct.
I'm always impressed with your work Nate! How did you avoid drilling thru the web in the cinder block? Is it ok to drill thru the web of a cinder block?
How do you guys get up to that high of a spot in the attic? Any insight you can give I would greatly appreciate!
You see in the video where we used 2x4's and screwed them to the rafters/ truss to create a ladder? We keep a small amount of 2×4s & smaller amount of 4×4s in our vans for various reasons, this being one of them
@@NatesDryerVentCleaning That's very smart! Thanks so much for replying!
You operate an underated business. Most home owners need to be educated on the importance of routine vent cleanings and prevenative maintenance.
