@@TherealCentral1 My Asko is going to need carbon brushes pretty soon, cause during spins there arcing inside the motor, but machine is going fine, Miele W765 is getting it’s motor reverse contacts inside the timer replaced, and the Miele W723 is getting new water valves soon, and should be ready for it’s first load. Nice collection you have. I dreamed of having a few Mieles in my collection 🙂

They seem fine to me, the load was pretty heavy hence for the unbalanced spin and didn't shake violently

Fisher and Paykel was a New Zealand company that invented a smartdrive motor and fully computerised machines, and also very simple design that makes the machine very easy to disassemble. For example, the agitator is only held on with a hand tightened screw, when both removed, the whole tub can come out without any tools. It's why we Australians and Kiwis are huge fan of these machines. These machines were avaliable in New Zealand, Australia and the US. However Europe never got any top loaders, but front loaders did make it once Haier took over. Haier mostly just knock offs other brands they take over, hence why Fisher and Paykels now they look just like Haier when they ditched the original pulsator and agitator. It's why we're mostly a fan of the old Fisher and Paykels made below 2012 or the time the last Aquasmart 2 models were made.

​@@mrtisan29Fisher and Paykel didn't invent the motor, it is a Brushless DC motor which existed since 1962, originally invented by T.G. Wilson and P.H. Trickey. However, Fisher and Paykel was the first to invent a BLDC motor-based direct drive system for a washing machine back in the late 80s.

@@mrtisan29 Ah. Hopefully you can find a Selni pump, as that's what these machines were originally designed to use. However since Selni went bankrupt their pumps have become quite expensive, so you might have to get a GRE pump. Personally I like the sound of the Selni pumps, the GREs just sound like every other generic washer pump, and they make that same chuffing sound which I haven't heard from a Selni pump before.

This advice applies to Fisher and Paykel appliances. Determining the manufactured date of most appliances is accomplished by looking at the SERIAL NUMBER. On Fisher and Paykel appliances this is determined by the by the 1st two letters of the serial number. The 1st letter represents the YEAR of manufacture. The 2nd letter represents the MONTH of manufacture. LETTER YEAR C - 1 U - 2 M - 3 B - 4 E - 5 R - 6 L - 7 A - 8 N - 9 D - 0 LETTER MONTH F - 1 I - 2 S - 3 H - 4 E - 5 R - 6 P - 7 A - 8 Y - 9 K - 10 U - 11 L - 12

I don't have this machine anymore, but to remove the top, you remove the screws on the back of the control panel, then lift it and push it forward so it releases.

@@mrtisan29 thank you! Does the actual lid need to be removed first, or are the lid a control panel simply one unit?

@@helenvosti8543 You don't really need to, just hold it shut when you lift the top off and rest it on something, because you don't want the cables getting yanked from the weight of the top

Hey MrTisan, I am going to clean this machine today, and unlike any videos I’ve seen, there is a little clip on the left hand side of the lid only (not one on the right). Should I still just be able to remove the whole top deck with the screws at the back, or do I somehow need to remove the lid with the side clip first? Thank you 🙏

FYI, here's an easy way to tell if your machine is 1000RPM max or 1100RPM max. Listen to the tone it produces at full speed. The machine reaches 1000RPM at 3:35, when the pump shut down. If it sounds higher-pitched and continues onwards like at 3:38, it is an 1100RPM machine.

Yeh, I knew the problem as soon as I felt the motor after making it run. It was very hot

@@LoganT547 To me my GW609AU spins a little faster than this machine

@@mrtisan29 Fisher and Paykel has adjusted their acceleration curves over the years. But yes, both machines are technically designed for 1100RPM, but this one is probably a little slower, maybe 1080RPM or so. It could also be due to the newer motor model in this machine. The GW609AU would've been released back when Fisher and Paykel was using their original 42 pole stator and 56 pole grey or white rotor.
