2024 Ubuntu Africa Bikers run
Ubuntu is an ancient African word meaning 'humanity to others'. It is often described as reminding us that 'I am what I am because of who we all are'.
We started out at BMW Fourways and made the round trip on the N1/N12 to Thembisa where we were treated to breakfast and a badge.

We travel from Shell in Laezonia through Hartbeespoort Dam and onto Beestekraal in the North West - It was an eventful day, definitely a day to remember with Carmen (Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Electra) breaking down and being towed. Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Electra ride - Bikeman Day - Weltevreden Park.

Was great to attend a classic bike run with the Royal Enfield group at Bikeman Weltevreden Park. Plenty of different bikes to see and so many nice people. Then a quick ride to Muldersdrift for some coffee. Plus not to mention my 2005 Royal Enfield 500 Bullet reaching it's first 1000 kilometers was a nice milestone to experience. Lovely experience - great video Bran 🎉
Lovely video, I miss riding in that area. Ash your experience came in very handy, good to see such dedicated camaraderie. Well done guys. 👍😀
Well done guys, glad you were among such good and caring buddies. Very nice video Bran ❤
Brilliant video Bran. Well done!
Yes nabour i like it looks nice
Its great that you use gear. Keep using gear. Most if the youtubers that i see stop using gear for clout. Btw, where do u live and what bike is that. From India an RR310 boy
I always wear gear when I ride, no matter what the conditions. I currently stay in South Africa in Johannesburg. My bike is a 2014 Honda CBR500R, I got it back in 2015, so I have it for 8 years now, brilliant bike!
You make riding a bike look like childs play.
Thank you, I've just practiced a lot.
It does not matter how careful you are, it stays a dangerous way of travel as motorists can be so damn careless in their lane changing. Johannesburg's traffic can be a nightmare especially when there has been a bumper bashing or a traffic light that is out of order. People can get very agitated with the situation and do stupid things which put the motorcyclist in danger. Just take care.
Thank you, will do, because of that, motorcyclists need to take a closer look at their riding habits and take responsibility for their own safety.
I would think it is safer to be riding in between cars when there’s slow traffic than to ride behind a car and have another one behind you
It is better, because motorcycles stop faster than cars and the chances of a car rear ending you are high. If a motorcyclist stops behind a car, he dose so not in the middle, but to the side, so he can get away quickly in an emergency.
nice bike but hate the headlight looks like a bug they must fix this better headlight in front and little screen to
I agree, they can do a slight tweak in the headlight design, maybe a daytime running light in the centre joining the two lights together could actually work.
the bike looks good do i miss the top case carrier . thanks for sharing .
i have ones drove a harley sportster . thats all . great video .
Thanks, I once had the opportunity to ride a 2018 Street Glide on a track, amazing bike.
you'll get 6.3 averge consumption (RON95) because you won't rive at 5km/h on a highway
No adaptive cruise control on the R
Porque no en español muchas gracias
😂
waste of Money..hurh 🚸
The R has a 21” front wheel vs S 19”
Rear is 18" not 17"
Even in the video at 04:57 you can see the 21 inch front tyre marking. R versions are fitted with the 21" front and 18" rear as you mentioned
👍👍🏍💪💪🖐🌟🌟
A 10,000 Ducati isn’t as bad as you think
Very informative video, thanks.
I'd love to have the 1290sas, have the 1190R at the moment.
It is a very good bike, if you do one day buy a 1290 S, I'd love to here your first impressions.
the ktm outfit looks very cool . when you by this bike , remember not all feathers are released . for the full version you have to pay extra .
That is the one thing I find strange. For the amount of money you pay for the bike, it would be logical to offer all the features as standard. I would only make the customer pay for extra features on smaller cheaper models like the 890 & 790 Adventure bikes.
I love GS, such a sheer riding pleasure 💯💯💯💯💯
It is an amazing piece of engineering.
Wow.. 🔥👏👍💪
Very good video, very informative, thank you.
Thank you for the feedback.
I have the Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES with DCT which is really big for an adventure bike. I can’t imagine how I would ever feel comfortable driving something as big as this GS. I have anxiety going through really narrow 2 way streets in Central Asia here with my panniers attached. Even mild off-roading is a little unnerving. I guess there’s no better way to find out than to try this GS next time I’m at a dealer!
I like the Africa Twin a lot, I had the privilege of testing a 2017 CRF1000L Africa Twin manual back in 2017 and I was hugely impressed, back then, I would have chosen the R1250GS over the Honda for one reason, cruise control, but since then, the Africa twin has been updated and cruise control comes standard on the CRF1100L, which makes it difficult to chose between the two. If I had to chose the BMW, I wouldn't go for the Adventure as it is bigger and heavier than the standard, and you unfortunately lose the extra 10 litres of fuel, but with the variable valve timing on the BMW will make it more efficient to travel further on less fuel.
seat hight is 85 cm en the fuel is 16.90 liter . i find the colors ugly .and the excaust demper sits to low and should more towarts the backside .
Good one ...informative
Thank you for the feedback.
I just bought this bike. Had it a month. Love the quick take offs (compared to my Aprillia RS 660 : ). It is just beautiful and perfectly balanced.
It is a beautiful bike and if I had the cash now, I would order one (not yet available here in South Africa). Congratulations and many happy miles!
Thank you for giving solid information.
Music, TOO OVRBEARING. (Unnecessary, and TOO LOUD !!!)
Thank you for the feedback, I will work on that in future videos.
@@dotb.rides01 I THANK YOU for being so understanding and gracious. - Some people would take offence and attack back. You show me you are a man of character and willing to listen and learn. WELL done sir, WELL done. Regards.
@@dotb.rides01 don’t bother,great vid!
Great looking bike but it's so overpriced compared to everything else on the market at those price points.
I am glad you mentioned the price, I think that is a huge downfall with the scrambler brand, even the first generation was expensive and because of that, I haven't seen many on the road.
@@dotb.rides01 Problem is that too many "reviewers" don't want to upset their Ducati Gods. The new prices are completely ridiculous, just look at the minimal difference between the scrambler full throttle and the Streetfighter V2 for comparison alone, then compare it to the Yamaha XSR700. Ludicrous.
@@reddpill This. Price wise not worth it at all... Atleast they should have given it some tech and power like the Bmw Nine T or Thruxton RS
Shooooow
Congratulations on the channel work. The bike itself, especially in gray, was wonderful. I only open a parenthesis for the taillight, which in my opinion could have been the same as the "sister" speed triple 1200rs. Let's face it, the speed triple 1200rs flashlight model is phenomenal and I think it would look great on the street triple 765. Congratulations again for the work 👏👏👏.
Thank you very much for the compliment and support. I agree with you on the rear light, but I think Triumph have decided to keep all the good looks for the 1200 RS, in that way more people will buy them.
Well now waiting for it to arrive here in my country to buy the RS 2023✌✌
Nice! Let me know your first impressions of the bike when you receive it.😉👍🏻
@@dotb.rides01 My hart is broken, went to the dealership and the seller told me that they are having big delays for Triumph motorcycle’s, they’re expected to arrive on June 2023 or so. I will wait patiently.
Ah no! That is so long away, I hope they can manage to ship bikes in earlier. Stay strong my friend.
I got the 2020 model. The "Beast" or "The Torque Monster" as it is sometimes known, was missing full-LED lighting (it really should have come that way on the 20-22 models). I do a lot of night riding, and maybe considering an upgrade, although I'm not sure about the 2023 colors (Maybe the Adaptive Cornering Lighting will be standard in 2024...Hmmm). Thank you for this Bike Chat!
Thank you, so many people overlook bikes like these because of the bower twin engine, but it is really a very capable bike for so many applications and I think with the upgrade of the LED light is long overdue.
GOALS 🙏
If 6 kg can be saved on the exhaust, you'd think a 21-grand bike would come with that exhaust.
All in the name of making money. The manufacturers know that customers are going to want that extra something and so the capitalize on that by charging huge amounts for parts.
@@dotb.rides01 I'm cool with Ducati making money. If the incentive to make money wasn't there, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 wouldn't exist, and neither would the Triumph Speed Triple, and neither would the KTM Superduke, and neither would any other cool motorbikes. We would all be driving Ladas instead. The only way you can incentivise Ducati to put a titanium exhaust on their stock bikes is by giving them tougher competition, and you only increase competition by incentivising more companies to start selling motorbikes, and motorbike companies will only pop up if there is a possibility of making a profit. The UK used to have HUNDREDS of profitable motorbike companies. Now it has one or two (if you count Norton). At one point it had zero. Why do you think that happened?
Very good point.
Nice😍
All the fallen legends ,they won't be far away from our minds ,if you want to find them just look in the garage next door , they will be getting their bike ready for the show down RIP to all of them❤️🦂
Kesemua sajian yang dimuat turun oleh pihak TT penuh dgn keberanian satu pasukan nest ni feat😃
It’s a thing of beauty power and will. They are all champions in my book.
Very true.🏆
You need to watch the 1992 race between Carl Fogerty and my hero Steve Hizzy Hislop 11 times TT champ and a statue built of him looking over the water. Unreal memories.
Thank you, I will definitely go give that a watch.
Hi Michael, I have been meaning to come back to you with regards to the 1992 Senior TT. That must be the best TT ever, having Carl Fogerty complete the race on a bike that was falling apart plus break the lap record by 3 seconds that stood for 7 years is amazing. Steve Hislop was brilliant how he took that Norton to victory given how fragile and problematic it was, it is just a testament to how good he was. Even back in 1992 the bikes were extremely fast and it just shows you that, you have to be a man with great balls to take on the TT and the 1992 TT shows just that. Thank you for suggesting that race, I really enjoyed it.
@@dotb.rides01 I’m glad you enjoyed it, Steve Hislop was the reason I got into racing bikes, he was a genius, probably the most gifted motorcyclist to come out of the UK along with Halewood and Sheene, the issue he had was he would fall out with crew chiefs and manufacturers all the time 😄 so found it hard for a team to manage him. If you watch WSBKs 2000 at Brands Hatch he broke his neck but survived, he was just a legend in Scotland, sadly missed. I suppose with Mark Purslow dying yesterday at the TT it shows just how dangerous it is for these guys. 🙏
Is it not dangerous at niggt
Depends on where you are riding.
Honda fireblade is that
I love the Fireblade, I am a Honda fan.
Good times i think for them at tt this year
Where in south africa
This was recorded in Krugersdorp, which is the western parts of Johannesburg.
