GOLDEN TROUT: Sight Fishing How To
Просмотров 9 тыс.4 года назад
* Sight Fishing for Golden Trout How To * The culmination of a summer's worth of backpacking trips. I've invested heavy amounts of time trekking around the Rocky Mountains searching for what I consider the holy grail of trout fishing, the Golden Trout. Now, I love all kinds of trout fishing, and I definitely go through phases, but in the end backpacking for goldens is at the top of my list. (ri...
Road Trippin' Thru UTAH - (Ice and Flyfishing)
Просмотров 4324 года назад
Road trippin' Thru Utah! I have been ice fishing as well as fly fishing in various Utah locations during the late winter/early spring. I was really hoping for a nice Fish Lake Mackinaw to cap off a great ice fishing season! Instead I'll settle for some hefty hard fighting Tiger Trout on my fly rod. Doesn't suck. Campfires, camping, cooking over a skillet, and star filled skies always make for a...
Incredible Grab To Save a GIANT Flaming Gorge Lake Trout! - (Thrilla Quick Cut)

Angler goes shoulder deep through the ice to save a buddy's PB Lake trout! Our hearts sank when the 6 inch tube jig came shooting out of the hole before we had a chance to get a good look at the trophy lake trout that we had spent so much time pursuing. This is a highlight (and my favorite segment) from the 2 part Thrilla in Manila video. Be sure to check it out to see all the awesome catches! ...

Kickin' it in the MTNS on a couple of Water Master rafts. A few buddies head to a mountain lake to do a bit of trout fishing for the day. Well we're on the ice again... looking to get a trout's eye view of the action! Ice fishing Henry's Lake in the beautiful state of Idaho. RUNOFF - Short Fly Fishing Film

Runoff, a short fly fishing film. Making the most of a slow weekend of fishing. Spring is a great time to get up into the mountains. Unfortunately for me and Sammy, nobody told the fish that they were supposed to willing and hungry this time of ...
The Slow Down (Clear Water) - Short Fly Fishing FILM

The slow down. Sight fishing to rainbow trout in some crystal clear water. Nothing quite like an early summer camping trip while fly fishing for trout. These fish are spooky and light tippets and subtle presentations are key to coaxing in a weary fish to eat your fly. Unfortunately, I'm terrible at sight fishing, I just don't have the touch I guess. Luckily, Parker is an expert when it comes to...

i recognized one of those lakes from a trip I did in the 80's. We were able to get them to take hopper patterns on the surface, but sub surface is no doubt usually a better bet. It was just that we could see them taking live hoppers on that windy day. A NZ indicator rig might work to eliminate some of the guess work and allow the smaller fly to get down more vertically. Just a thought.

The escape ice is a piece of crap! Don't waste your money on this thing. All the pole sockets will rip out in short order starting my first time I set it up.There is not enough ventalation on calm days and my heater shuts off when oxygen is gone but what if yours doesn't turn off like mine. All my zipper pulls broke off and when it snows the roof collapses from very little weight on it.It also drips water everywhere from melting snow through all threaded seams. The only thing good about this thing is the room and the height.Never again will I buy a clam anything.

Don't buy these pieces of crap.I have a escape ice and it literally is falling apart at the seems starting at the first use.The poles poke right through the lower corners and I have to keep sewing them up.The zipper pulls have all broke off.If it snows when using it the top will collapse with 1/2 inch of snow.Beware of death from lack of ventelation. If there is no breeze outside my mr. heater will shut off from lack of oxygen but if yours does not shut off you may die.Save your money and buy something else.

NOTE: As Rich Osthoff said, "Backcountry waters could be more effectively managed-but before that's likely to happen, the fishery as a whole needs more advocates". The exploitation of wilderness areas in inevitable. With an ever growing population, it is so important to get as many "advocates" as possible speaking up for the protection and preservation of our wilderness. Do your part to be an example of showing respect for these backcountry areas. They should not be taken for granted. Sportsman are inherently secretive about "their spots". I am no different. While there are many places I wont mention or post about, all the locations in my videos have already been "exposed" and are "relatively" easy to find with a quick google search. Those individuals who have the desire to put in the amount of time, miles, and research it takes to find these water bodies are exactly the people we need advocating for them. Researching potential fishing spots is an extremely enjoyable activity for me. Take a look at state stocking reports, read a few forums, pick out a couple lakes on the map and get at it!
