Thank you! As far as tips go, something that has really helped me was applying anticipation and over-exaggeration to movement. It's the "stretch and squish" you might see in animation! Like with 0:48 for example. Macaque takes a step backward (anticipation) to prepare for a bigger/more forceful step forward (over-exaggeration). A smaller example of when I use the stretch/squish is when the characters blink! The frames right before and after the eyes close have the eyes stretched open wider (courtesy of the lasso tool). I like to do this because I think it adds a bit more flare or liveliness in the characters, even with it being such a small change. :) Also! When animating difficult/complicated scenes, I found that recording references is REALLY helpful! That's how I was able to make the "knife flip" scene! When I first began animating 5 years ago I often experimented with different things in my animatics, such as: glitching, trembling, fading, and making images look like they "bounced" into frame (if that makes sense. I'm basically referring to the transition between the Warnings and Music Credits at the beginning of this animation). In other words, the experimenting and practice has helped me a lot, and I definitely recommend messing around with things! I hope this wasn't too confusing, but feel free to ask me to clarify or elaborate on things! Thanks for commenting! :D
