This is the best golden axe game ever made for the sega genesis

It's such a dirty game. Beating the iron mask without cheating is almost impossible.

grew up with the shadow dancer games the arcade one and playing this at home; I always had some theory about the level 2 boss, in the original you fight a train, like as in Shinobi you battled a chopper. Perhaps their plans were to create a train boss, as you can see there are some railway tracks in the graphics, but maybe the specs couldn't handle it, so they changed their minds a turned the level 2 train boss into some generic wall demon.

Had this game on MegaDrive as a kid and NEVER EVER COMPLETED IT AAAAAAAAA. The highest I got back then was early chapter 3, and it was only with emulator years even later I got somewhere in chapter 4.....Still not beat it ;/

Did I just see a no death run of Bio Hazard Battle on hardest mode? Impressive!!!

Absolutely loved this game! The only bullet-hell game I ever really cared for. Story was cool and the boss fights were like nothing any of my friends and I had seen before. This is basically “flying Demon’s Souls.” People have no idea just how hard some of these older 8 bit and 16 bit games were. No. Idea. There was no internet, message boards, not a single dedicated source of info for all of us playing when these titles launched. There was no precedence for a vast majority of titles, so we were all, largely, going in blind. We were only kids at the time, no more older than roughly 8 years of age. Great times all around though, especially growing up with the industry during its inception. Not many can claim that achievement, and it’s one I proudly claim; been here since its birth

This is “Fist of The North Star.” The version I played had no blood effects and was called “Last Battle” (living in the USA at time of playing it, decades ago). Regardless, both games were bull-crap levels of hard due to being on a timer, infinite spawns, and slow player character movement. You WERE going to get hit no matter what. To make matters worse, a brutally punishing entire game restart if you died. I had to resort to using a Game Genie/ Pelican cheats to beat it, many years later. This game should have cane with a warning for children, because no kid I knew that had this game ever got beyond several levels before dying and thus having to start all over. It took many of us a lot of time to figure out that in order to remove the last bit of enemy boss life, one had to just use a normal, standing straight punch. Many of thought our games were bugged for hours, as we kept landing blows to what we thought was an infinite low health enemy 😂

I paid 60 quid for this game in 1993 (i think it was) i played this so much, and getting to finally beat every boss felt so good. And the first time you get the triple punch blew my mind 😂😂

Thanks for posting this! This was one of my favorite games when I was young. It's such a treasure to see it again. The elf girl Diana was also my favorite!

Did not know this existed. They did a great job on the opening for the game and Tyris. Also the music is top notch. But that gameplay and sound effects... oof.
