@@Zennethe it's fine because if you side with ulfric he has the dragonborn a demigod who could solo entire legions by himself, plus ulfric could ally with other humans who have fought the thalmor like the red guards who are also fighting them in a resistance like ulfric.

@ they didn’t *win.* they were just very very annoying ans the Thalmor weren’t investing enough ressources. (Also in my opinion it’s a case of bad writing on bethesdas part. Because a force that was able to subdue the Empire not beeing able to subdue one province while they have ever advantage at their hands is just comical. Not impossible, but not very believable )

But I wonder , if your ruling empire that you pay taxes to and send your sons and daughters to die , gives up your land , and or bans your god , and allows an enemy nation to conduct secret police type raids on your people , would that not be a just cause for revolution? Even in our own world there has been many , many cases of smaller states/country fighting off a unstoppable empire In fact almost every single one has fallen due to a smaller force winning , America revolution, Mexican revolution

And there is also no reason to believe the empire and an independent Skyrim still won’t fight the thalmor together , are we to assume the redguards won’t join in the fighting too? Wouldn’t multiple fronts of mutiple nations work instead of a leading empire that has already failed once before ? Hammerfell gain its independence fighting off thalmor alone for 5 years

@ ok first of all: you think that the empire and Skyrim fighting as two separate allied nations is equally as strong and if Skyrim was fighting as an imperial vasall? Nope. There would be hate and distrust and debate and rivalry on every corner. but you also think too much in the box there. What are the Thalmor planning? The entire goal of the whitegold concordate WAS to anger the Nords and create the rebellion and what would have happened if a Dragonblood didn’t suddenly pop up? Then the war would have dragged on for *years.* Meanwhile the Thalmor have all the time and distraction in the world to strip Skyrim of its magical knowledge and power wich is the reason we always meet them when something secret or magical is involved. The Thalmor goal isn’t to fracture the Empire into numerous states. Because then if could still ally with the separatist nations and fight strong. The Thalmor can’t win by numbers and combat prowess. So The goal is to keep the Empire in a state of perpetual turmoil and civil war until the Thalmor have collected and stolen enough magical power and erased enough of Thamriels arcane knowledge so they can win the next war by magical means and completely steamroll the entire continent. The stormcloak rebellion isn’t meant to win or loose. It’s meant to drag on for as long as possible. That’s another reason why a strong and unified empire is better: the less they have to worry about rebellions and unrest, the quicker they can recover and catch on to the Thalmors schemes and counter them and declare full war round 2.

Naw. Scale looks pretty bad

I think it's awesome. It really remembers about Morrowind, where you had more variety of weapons and styles of armour. Oblivion is just medieval, and Skyrim does have some viking aesthetic, but that's it.

The stormcloaks are just the Nord version of the Thalmor. They believe in racial superiority and believe all of Skyrim belongs only to the Nords.
