Is this a Military resort or one near ! Brother getting married ima Vet need them Benefits to kick in 😂
Hello RUclips Star- I have watched all your videos. Your videos are very nice but there is some problem with your channel. Your channel is not optimized properly and your channel SEO score is very low due to which your channel is not getting good views. If you solve your channel problems, you will get many Subscriber views on your channel. Have a Good Day
The other cons- police and government corruption and cover ups of crime and set ups. Most people won’t find this out unless they have dealt with it personally or know people who did. Also- Zuckerberg. Shady Billionaire Zuckerberg who has a lot of controversy around him and has been suspected by the public of child SA and murder (Epstein flights list). He is stealing the land from local people and trying to steal the beaches. If people and children begin to go missing, you wouldn’t know if the police did it or Zuckerberg.😢 many people, especially young women, have gone missing in Kauai. “The killing fields” are the cane fields of the main hwy just past Lihue where the police have been rumored to take the young girls and women to rape and kill. 😢 Very evil things there. So sad. Small island and no way out for victims. Other than that kauai is one of the most beautiful natural rural islands to live and has such amazing heavenly beauty everywhere you look.
I have lived here for 15 years, be advised that there are not many single people here. There are some younger single but past the age of about 35 there are virtually no single women, like when you go on Tinder it just says there is nobody. All the middle-aged men who become single end up getting Filipino mail order brides if they want to stay here
Unfortunately, Kauai suffers from Island 🏝️ mentality; low work effort, prevents people from reaching their potential, and it is a haven for the drug culture. The best advice I can give to anyone graduating from High School on Kauai: Move off the island to anywhere on the planet that offers more opportunity and a lower cost of living. Kick ass, save money, excel, and years down the line, if you want go back, then you will be set up to do so. Too many people on this island have never actually lived off the island and experienced other opportunities, people, cultures, and better opportunities. Kauai is too isolated for young people to reach their full potential.
Thank you for the video sir, I have a question, I am skilled Tradesman jack of all trades, though no certifications. But I can bring my skills I'm a little concerned about cost of living though, what's the cheapest maybe one bedroom apartment. I'm quiet and stick to myself nature boy. Curious what location the cheapest apartment might be in about how much and if you think I could get a job out there
I used to live in Anahola and Kapa'a, it does look very picturesque to the average joe - but they don't see the invisible predators that make it tough to live here. The mosquitoes, centipedes and alll the critters that come along with really wet environments will make sure things "look" nice and keep the weak off the island. So besides how costly it is to live here, if you're a mosquito magnet - forget about it. I still have trauma just thinking about it.
NIce, but I'd rather invest my millions into a much more secluded property.
Super helpful, thanks, Mike!
This is a real; nice place and fronts a great beach
Our family loves the Aston, its the only place we ever stay while on Kauai. Great location, very low key and affordable. Thanks for the video. Brings back memories. We will be there in October!
Don't go to a park on Friday. Many of the locals live in tents in a park. They make them break down and remove their tents on Friday to clean the park, So then they build it right back later in the day. Naturally they are pi**ed on Friday. Every time I got the Haolie go home speech it was on a Friday near or at the park. I learned to avoid the park on Friday.
I spent the summer in Hanalei Kauai in 2022. Super expensive and many of the locals don't want you there. I got the haolie go home speech about once a week for doing nothing wrong. One time from an old lady who I could tell had the speech prepared. Nothing major but it gets old. The cost and traffic are the worst part.
what a joke. what they probably dont teach in the history books is how the natives probably jacked the island from some other natives. same thing happened with africa/slavery in america, africans sold their own to the europeans.
I would have thought one of the Cons of living on Kauai would be running into a rather grumpy Todd Rundgren. Last time we spoke all he could talk about was how he had trouble renting out his house 🤦🏻
Not enough of anything for locals. Tourists and foreigners are taking over and it’s disgusting.
Yes the same thing happened to my hometown. People always focused on money, instead of honor and integrity.
Welcome to the real world 🌎. It’s called supply and demand.
I lived in Kauai for 27 years. I had a house on Kamuilaii. Road. I would occasionally break into my neighbors homes to steal stuff and they started getting pissed so I moved. The cops weren’t very nice to me either.
Is your new neighborhood more friendly to theft?
@@WalkingwithWendy Yes. They are Woke.
Kiahuna plantation has a nice beach in front? Many hotels don't have beach access. This is the most important for us. Thank you.
Yep. He shows it. It shares the beach with the Sheraton. It is great for hanging on the beach, wading and surfing. If you go east a short walk there is Poipu beach in front of the Marriott and the Poipu state park where there is good snorkeling and swimming.
@@matthewbeasley7765 Sounds wonderful. Thank you
Great info.❤
How TF does anyone afford to live there 😐
You need to be very wealthy to live well
I spent the summer there in 2022. It's expensive. I live in Fl-local grown mangos are $1 in Fl, 5$ in Kauai even at a farmers market. Most farmers want $20 or more for a pineapple at a farmers market. And that's the locally grown food, the price goes up from there.
@@aeropilot4419 I rented a house for the summer in Princeville and I was shocked at how expensive it is. I lived on Park Avenue in Manhattan for 2 years and Kaui seemed more expensive than that.
@@aeropilot4419Not really. If “born and raised” then you need to leave the island shortly after HS and get a steady career. After saving, excelling, and gaining experience and knowledge, then go back. You will be more in a position to enjoy the “Good Life”.
@@Eaglejake understood
Do you live on Kauai?
Great Info! Thanks for the update
Look out for algae on the beach rocks. I sprained my knee.
Big pro that it isn’t commercialized. What people who agree with these high housing costs like it’s a worthiness issue. Keep in mind that the skilled labor is almost non existent because they can’t afford to get in (buy or rent) when cost of living is so high. Governments/city planners approving big investor building projects love to overlook the need for affordable workforce housing that isn’t a slum. Many natives and locals get forced out of these dream environments because of development by “corporate interests” and mainland retirees. I am dealing with this in my super desired area of Florida. Once the word got out it became a challenge for those already living here.
Thanks for sharing the experience! We love Kauai, started going there in the early 2000, bought a timeshare in Poipu Beach area & have been visiting the island yearly ever since. I remember crossing the main highway and we would be seeing cars passing by every 5-minutes. Nowadays, it’s almost bumper to bumper, definitely getting crowded.
Great video. Informative and kept the camera focused on the property. Cheers
I lived there. Went to Kapaa high. If you reslly live there uou know, there is nothing to do. The natives do nothing but fight and surf. They openly hate white people. They hate america and dont want to be a state . Everything there has to be brought in so everything is crazy expensive and you cant get anything really. They smoke a lot of incredibly good pot, and cocaine is everywhere. I left my family and escaped. They also escaped but it took some time. Its like being in a tropical hell. Ok to visit, its the best island for that, but living there was beyond horrible. More Hawaiians live on the mainland than the islands now.
How is the snorkelling?
Not known for snorkeling - waves are very strong. Lydgate Park to the south has an enclosed area - you will not need fins.
Thank you for allowing me to reminisce of my honeymoon back in 1996! We love Kiahuna!

Mahalo ke wikiō hoihoi (very interesting thank you)
Great video just what I needed to see ! I’m hoping to be there in the next few months to live :)
Just be mind full of police corruption. Be careful when adventuring on your own. Always let a family member know where you are and bring protection.

What would be the best beaches for seashells and rock hunting and sea glass? We are going there December.
Hey bro have you ever been to Maui, Big Island, or Oahu before?
There are three types of people who can affect change that is relevant = the Government, RE Agents and then the Home Owners. Only one of those three are walking Kauai Streets with smiles on their faces.
Michael - $1.8 mil Median HP? How the Hell is anyone ever going to hope to get in, much less the Next Gen. locals born on the Islands? So, Home Sales Prices levelling off, but not dropping. Any new Developments coming on line to relieve the low-supply high-demand formula playing out there?
Great thoughts, I 100% agree. Unfortunately despite there being a new neighborhood being developed in Lihue, it is not large enough to ease the lack of supply. You also have much higher costs of materials and labor vs mainland due to being on an island in the pacific, typically construction costs of building a home are going to start at $700k at least. Small, older ‘starter’ homes are generally starting in the 700-900k range. Affordability is at a 40 year low across the nation so not a symptom exclusive to this market
When all options have run out, Buyers start thinking along the crumb and scrap lines for getting into that market - ie. What about buying land and constructing anew? Or simply buying the Neighborhood eye-sore and bulldozing it down and rebuilding. How difficult is that process to get through City/County approvals? I'm serious - dead serious. $1.8 mil for the median last month? As an RE Agent, I'd be chewing my fingernails down to my 2nd knuckle praying I can be lucky enough to close on just one property a year to survive. Kauai has got to find a way to open up and relieve that low-supply pressure cooker. Nobody wants to Buy a Closet for $1.3 Million just to get in. That's not Paradise, that's just another reason to remain insulted and pissed just to get in and then get hit with the reality that very few qualified Labor Contractors can be had to do anything to help you in Home Reno. or new construction. I don't even want to ask construction completion estimates after breaking ground. Kauai's numbers are now "Exclusive Club Only," and will continue to watch on the sidelines - for years if need be as a case study. One day the workers will be forece off Island and then the roads and all infrastructure will begin to erode. That's when the Market will turn and People will start to come back. My money says you have a looming labor Exodus problem as well as an Econ 101 issue. My bet is Kauai home equities start to drop yoy the next three years. Only time will tell. @@livingonkauai
Is the farmer's market actually REAL? Are they actual farmers selling produce they themselves grew? Instead of getting it from a truck. All the farmers markets on Oahu are fake and sell imported produce with the PLU sticker still on. People here have no concept what a farmer market is despite the answer being in the name.
You have described a destination for holiday and not full time.
Muy buen video bro excelente saludos desde OHIO
Going here soon
Thanks for this. We plan to go April 2024 and wanna stay in Poipu Kiahuna. Any particular 2nd story Unit that you can recommend that’s good for 3 adults? Best thru vrbo and with a good ocean view. Units too with washer and dryer are what we look for. 🤙🏼
Loved your video man! Very informative and balanced look on your paradise 🤙
I found the roads on Kauai to be outdated. Meaning the roads were built for a horse and buggy situation. The roads on Kauai need massive overhaul.
I just got back from Kauai, I thought their roads were really nice.❤
Been living on Kauai over 20 yrs. , tourism is chocking our island need to limit it. Aloha
And yet, Hawaii produces nothing,….what will support the economy that is environmentally perfect, doesn’t somehow damage the Aina, or ruins the landscape?? Hawaii produces nothing, but tourism.
What’s the average salary on the island? If house prices are a million dollars in average the salaries should be quite high as well?
A lot of people have owned their homes for decades, so the cost of buying back then was insanely lower. The value has gone up, and lot end up selling and moving to the mainland with all that money
@@Godfather5400 thank you for the information 👍
I lived on Kauai as an editor of a book for 9 months in 1991-1992. Loved it, but 9 months was enough. I never complained about Honolulu being slow after that. Three months after I left Hurricane Iniki hit and destroyed much of the island. Some of my favorite places are still gone. The one con you missed is the limited medical care. If you are seriously injured, you probably need to be airlifted to Honolulu. Thousands of dollars just for transportation.
My parents live up in the Wailua Homestead area behind sleeping Giant, I remember we used to go to the theater at the Coconut Market Place when there was a theater and there was some great restaurants there as well but not much left from what I remembered.
I was born and raised on Kauai then I left Kauai for Oahu back in 1991 and left Oahu for WA in June 2000, growing up on Kauai during the 70’s and 80’s was the best times of my life, not much traffic, cheaper living, and the lifestyle was more laidback, the sugar industry was definitely keeping Kauai’s economy afloat and wasn’t deeply dependent on tourism, back in those days there wasn’t much locked gates to many places such as swimming holes and beaches, we used to ride our bikes around the cane fields and to the beaches, I miss those days.
Hi Jason..I lived on Kauai also back in the 80's in a little town called Kilauea!
Funny how everybody has this story per the year they arrived or revisited the place. I arrived in 2006 and stayed for years then traversed the other islands and ended back up on the mainlaind due to family obligations. I think about returning, but I have such good memories with the younger more able me, and I fear it's changed and will disappoint. However, I see no indication of that. I don't know.
When western society and its paper thin niceties fail, the planes stop landing, and the ships stop docking...the last place a white person will want to be is Kauai. Haole - The Other White Meat. EDIT: I wrote this as a joke. I hope I'm right, and it's only a joke.
The people of Kauai don’t want any of you to move there , this video is toxic by nature. Over population and gentrification are destroying the land and the lives of the native people of Hawaii. What are you gaining by producing this kind of content anyways? Do you even realize the impact? Would you even care!?
