The South American Pink Floyd
Psychodelic 60s Rock was so popular in Peru that time, that kind of music was fusioned with Amazon traditional music and Latin rythms like Cumbia(Colombia), Son of Cuba, etc. It was so popular and danced in Lima city and in the Amazon region in 60s. Amazon/Psychedelic/Peruvian Cumbia get difference from Traditional Cumbia(Col.) and 80s influenced to create a new genre: Chicha. Chicha music appeared in 80s, It's the fusion between Peruvian cumbia and Huayno(Andean Music/music of The Andes region), Chicha(Andean Tropical Music) is more nostalgic and lyrics are more melancholic because 80s was a hard and painful period for Perú's History. Nowadays, there's a confusion between the differences of Peruvian cumbia and Chicha. Peruvian cumbia sounds more psychedelic, guitar using is so important and the lyrics is different from Chicha, but both are so linked, anyway.

@@D3cyTH3r yeah it's Peruvian/Psychedelic cumbia from 60s :) The Cumbia influenced many hispanic countries, one of them was Peru. This video is from a Amazonic(Jungle) band: JUANECO Y SU COMBO. The peruvian Amazon region is next to colombian frontier, also. The UK and US rock was so popular in that time in Peru it might have been fusioned with the psychedelic ritual Ayahuasca concepts from the jungle, so all of these concepts are very linked that's why sometimes it refers the Peruvian Cumbia as "Psychedelic Cumbia" to differences from the Colombian Cumbia. I recommend you listen Los Destellos, is one of the biggest bands of that time, too although they were NOT from the Jungle but the coast/shore, from the "big city" of LIMA. Greetings !
