Take a sneak peak at the working model roller coaster based off Invertigo. Over 450 hours total of 3d printing to build. The ride is controlled by an arduino mega and contains over 700 lines of code!

To test the arduino control and main drivetrain this design will be 3D printed and tested on a small scale before the main unit is assembled. The sphere is 10" in diameter, bought from Micheals. Fasteners not shown. Song: Illenium - Make you do

how did you figure out how much the holes needed to be separated to create the thin film of air?
this ride is called Cobra, and its at La Ronde in montreal for like decades,,
Is it possible to use the rail at 3:25 to make an RMC T-REX coaster model?
Where did you get the operator panel from?
I went to Purdue then moved to NYC and went to New York Film Academy for grad school. My whole family went to Purdue. It's nice to see a fellow Purdue alumni. However, why in God's name would you get "data" from Wikipedia? You might as well get your "data" and research from the National Enquirer. I followed everything you were talking about because it's shop talk to me, but then you made that comment and it jarred me.
do you use clear tubing for the track ?
cool
The first 20 seconds of this is an actual Ford commercial
Not sure my contract allows Heidi and I to show up in Ford commercials anymore 😂 but yea I got pretty good with the drone.
Works pretty Gouda...bah dum tss
As a ride op of the actual Invertigo at kings island I gotta say this is a fantastic looking ride / model!!
Wow I have always wanted to do a project like this... I can see 3D printing makes it 100% possible. You say you have a camera on the coaster? Can you post footage of what its like from the "Seat View" ? Nice touch making the controls like a real roller coaster interface! This is amazing!
I don't know if you will see this but I'm a new subscriber and on ur last video u made a part of a rollercoster I was wondering if you could do a step by step tutorial on how to do something like that thx
This is absolutely nuts😍
Do you sale these??
Github ?
Great work! Did you 3d print the wheels or are they made out of steel? I am thinking about making a RMC hybrid coaster IBOX track but i am concerned about designing the trains... Maybe small "ballbearings" in a circular shape would work... Nice job!
For the 3D printed coaster I'm currently designing (Vekoma Mk1101 space warp launch coaster), I'm using ceramic ZrO2 ball bearings. I believe Matt has used ball bearings for the wheels here as well. I would highly recommend circular ceramic bearings as wheels, as the material has extremely low friction, and is very durable. I use 3x8x3mm ones. I hope this helps you to design your RMC hybrid!
@@rollercoasterryan7816 Thanks a lot!
I've always wanted to 3d design stuff but it looks a lot harder than i think i can do
How did you come up with your dimensions?
Yes!
What did you use for the tubing on the track? I am trying to build my own model and haven’t found anything that looks as nice as your track pieces.
Nice👌👌
Can you make a Deja Vu model
NUTS!!!
Phenomenal work, really enjoyed the tour of your shop as well! It seemed you were downplaying the complexity of your controller which I assume is quite complicated. Incredible job on everything!
Thank you! Yes the controller is absolutely a marvel, it is powered by an arduino mega with over 700 lines of code to control one single run through of the coaster. I have more details on my Instagram page if interested. @print_my_ride
Apa lemot roller coaster jelek Pasti ada mantra sihir ni
This belongs on "The Chive" website listed under the category "Shut Up and Take my Money."
How don’t you have a million subscribers you should have a lot
Hey. Do you have the rollercoaster up on your shelf available to download and print with instructions. I love this one but the prefer the full circuit one. ? Amazing work. :-)
That looks like a Coasterdynamix model to me.
I like model roller coasters ... but the only thing that i don’t like is the cars on a model tends to go too fast around the track, on a real rollercoaster yes they are going fast but it still takes time for it to get around the track..... i would add more cars to it so that it slows it down a little ... also make it a lot longer
Hello! I am building a coaster of my own and would like to know what glue you used to adhere the plastic and the tubing together?
Alexa Davis Loctite professional and Gorilla glue.
Print My Ride Detroit Awesome! Thank you so much!!
make a new coaster that uses the same control panel
Now I just need A 3D printer and a large amount of money (I need this
this is awesome.... BUT..... the ride is over before it's begun.... make it much longer!!!! I mean..MUCH MUCH MUCH longer....
Need this! How much?$
Are you gonna show a run of the Steel Vengeance model? Because that’d be pretty dang cool...
Please do more with the cad and the design process
have you got the electronic( servo, motor and wires) schematic construction? I may print this in the future, near to my house there is the Firewhip Roller Coaster, and that is amazing.
This is better than coasterdynamix.. insane. job well done! Most of it goes over my head but I wish I had the knowledge and drive to so this.
Matt, this is awsome. I'm currently printing one for my school. I'm a teatcher Psysics and I can use ths in my lessons. Do you have a building instruction and a map for the footers so I can buildt it on a wooden plate? Thanks and keep up the good work.
Do you plan on making another roller coaster?
working on one right now!
Lol a Vekoma Boomerang
At least it is inverted
@@OnniH wait a second when did I comment this?! I had no idea of how good this was. Also hey Onni
Sea serpent wilidwood nj
I wonder why LEGO Costers go sooooo FAST
scaling down a coaster dosent scale down physics, meaning the trains wont travel along the course slowly
They took that from dorney park
I love that ride.
OH ITS YOU I saw you at cedar point working on the steel vengeance model and it’s so awesome!
Hi Matt - wondering if we can have an introductory phone conversation about an engineering challenge we have. We believe that with your roller-coaster passion and design skills, we might be able to get what we're looking for. If you could reply, then I can share contact particulars for us. Will follow your lead. Thanks in advance.
what software is this?
Solidworks
Why does it look so blurry when it drops
Motion blur on the camera.
how do you make the initial design for the whole roller coaster tracks? what kind of curves you followed?
Yunhe Yang layout is designed in and then exported from no limits coaster simulator
ok , thanks, one more, like this video how do you make the initial line?
There are two lines I use (no limits also exports the center line but i dont require that for this purpose) the left rail and right rail, both are exported from nolimits coaster simulator.
thanks very much, i will definitely try it。
I'm looking to undertake a similar project but I'm having trouble figuring out how to export the right and left rail from NoLimits. Did you use the Light Pattern Creator and take comp curves from the shape of the 3D object, or is there some way to directly export the splines for the right and left rails?
