Howdy , I got accepted for the 2024 Fall in FMU and I am an international test optional student , I plan on going just cuz some family lives there , however I plan on transferring as I plan on going on California later on. I’ve heard some meh reviews about the school and the graduation rate isn’t a factor since I’m transferring but if you have an idea please share ! , I’m not sure you will respond but either way thank you for your input and experience it showed a lot 🫶

Everybody goes at their own pace. When I completed school it felt like everyone was jumping right into the field opening their suites or working at hand and stone or ewc. I'm getting started later but I'll be opening my spa here in Illinois by the summer. I hope to provide jobs for este's but there have been many horror stories about newbies from the well established. Thanks for sharing your experience and I hope it's gotten better for you.

Yes it is worth it.....everything is not for everyone (meaning the start and how you start) take your time .....work a regular job stack your money and go home based to up your clients......move when you are comfortable start when you are comfortable dont rush anything.....you got this

I still have a year before I go to school, but Im so so glad that there are videos like this out. A lot of people in my family are educators or engineers and don’t really know anything about being an esthetician, nor do they really take me seriously unfortunately. So it’s really really helpful seeing these kinds of videos and knowing that there are people that are willing to help!! Thank you for this video 🩷

I’m half way through school so what I’m gonna do is to do externship with my school and I’m getting little by little stuff for my practice once I get out of school because I also live in ILLINOIS and it’s not easy. I’m just gonna trust God on this one

im two weeks away from graduating esthetics school, there are NO jobs rn listed.. in my city there's an influx of estheticians and people coming to school and not enough jobs. I wanted to work for EWC or something similar to get my foot in the door too.. because im afraid to go solo. lol. I feel the struggles just the same. Im hoping the best for you. :)

❤ I went to cosmetology school in 1991. Coat was $4800. There was no esthy school at that time. I’m old school 😂. So I had to do the full cosmo school. I’m now 50. I’ve been an esthy for 31 yrs🎉. Love your video. Most schools honestly serve only one purpose. To get your diploma so you can take state boards. Once you pass that. The real work begins. I think I worked 5 yrs before I realized I should give clients a business card😂. I’m now semi retired. I only work April til Nov. and I go to AZ for fun in the winters. I have my own business and book out a year in advance. I haven’t been able to take a new client for over 10 yrs. Last year I brought in $115,000 in only 8 months. So girl keep your head up and keep doing your thing. At the age of 18 when I said I was going to beauty school I had friends laugh. But they aren’t laughing now since I’ve been semi retired since age 46. And I’m single. No husband or bf pays any bills ❤

I think its something with all the HBCU because Famu have to send students home because of some plumbing issues but you still had to the same amount for your education and your not there. Howard University had a massive plumbing issue and students were playing over 52k in education and was sleep in a cafe on blow up mattress. So be careful where ever you go
