Looks like you’re missing a journal bearing or something similar. There’s definitely something missing in the manufacturing side of things for it to fail so catastrophically from the get go.
A pity..!! No body likes spending money 💴 more than we have to. Unfortunately..!! A Torbo is an important part of a Diesel motors d that’s the last thing you need you need going wrong when you are in the Australian outback middle of nowhere.

Hopefully you have some recourse for the purchase? I’m curious to know what make/ model that turbo is and did you purchase it with the assumption that it was brand new?
it was brand new ile post more details up as i can when i get time
So what now ?
have to put another turbo on it hope the metal hasn't got into engine , he offered me 70% refund or replacement turbo but i have to pay $60 post i waiting on my 70% refund still, i will try to build one up out of 2 old ones hopefully be ok
