YJ on Rockwells at FRO Darkwater
Took the YJ out to Famous Reading for Mudfest and caught up with a couple guys that wanted to play in the rocks. Almost lost a tire, but it was a good time all around.

Heading up the access road from Harlan County Campground into Black Mountan Off-Road Adventure Area in Putney Kentucky.
No ways would I take my car up that slick mud and ledges 1 slide and I'd be lucky trees could stop it.
What is the point of this trail when there’s a beautiful winding scenic highway to the top of Black Mountain?
That looks like easy riding.
Big foot pops out mmm where's the white boys 😆
Is this road still open? Is it open to.the public?
I think it’s owned by a coal mine
Going back down is just as scary.
what be yer point? Don't drive drunk cause ye can't go from ditch to ditch?
Who else is here from harlan
Not fromHarlan but lived in Cumberland 1970/74 worked at Bob Frazier Ins. Went over Black mountain years agonin 30 ft motor home, Scared to death, going over in car was bad enough
When we went over it was nice paved road, not like this or I wouldn’t have been there!
tHIS PLACE IS full OF GOVERNMENT DOPE DEALING, CHILD PEDOPHILIA, MURDER AND ANYTHING ELSE BAD, I PROMISE.
my dad is from there, walked those mts as a kid
Coming back down is when it really gets hairy,
My grandfather was born on Black Mountain in 1897, in a log cabin....I am related to a ton of folks from Harlan county.
One thing 'bout a road like that. _Ya' don't have to worry 'bout forgettin' how to get back!
is this big black mountain or little black mountain? big black mtn. is in benem \ lynch. little black mtn. is in evarts I live in evarts. never been on the trails they have now but when I was younger I been all over there's mountains on 4 wheelers walking dirt bikes you had to just make your trail as you went nobody took a bulldozer and made it fore us it was a lot harder but fun I haven't gone on the trails because they charge money fore it. i been going in theese mtns. all my life and I don't think it's right to put a road in and charge fore somthing that's always been free just my opinion
This is the one in Evarts/Putney.
My ears popped @6:00
I found more than one four prong in these mountains years ago! Some of the most beautiful mountains and people! DaveyJO
My dad was the forester from 1969 to 1991 in Lynch for both US Steel and then Arch Mineral. We planted trees cruised timber and fought fires all over Black Mt growing up. Good times

Imagine comin off that mountain in huge coal truck loaded in the middle of winter an it frozen covered in snow an mud, they used to use huge bull dozers to hold the trucks back an front in some cases to getem off the mountain an to pull or drag em up the mountain i used to go with my older cuzzins when they drove in those conditions in the late 70s an early 80s in kentuck not from hazzard
whats the rattling?
The GoPro clip. I forgot to put the rubber isolator in.
Ain't nuttin but home Babe, nothing but Home, I was born there in 1938
I'm A HATFIELD and a letonosky from lynch .... Justus Hadfield and John Letonosky .... hello sir ! God bless you 🙏
that freaked me out..omg I would not ride with you on that road or anyone else..lol
looks a little tight in some stretches. is that a one way trail?
Most of it is 1 truck wide, but there are pull offs where people can pass.
It is a two-way trail. I can get tight enough in spots that two SxSs can't pass. It's also started to wash out in some areas making it even trickier.
The trip up the mountain. Was wonderful.. what we miss in our own back"yard and drive or fly around the world.
