One word: Works!

I've been doing some exobiology for the credits so I know some of this. Although I learned a couple of things from this video: 1. Spansh is a handy tool to have for this, I have heard of it but haven't investigated it yet. 2. The biology scanner lights up prospective samples to let you know when you've gone far enough for diversity. I'm using ED Copilot which tells me when I've travelled far enough, but this is a handy tip in case I miss the announcement or if I'm right on the edge of the sample range. I'll add a few things I've learned. By taking a minute to FSS the system I can sell that data when I'm back at the station. When you've jumped through dozens of systems it adds up, I even had a star pay out 250,000 credits in addition to the planet scans. Even just honking each system pays since you do that while waiting for the FSD to cool down. Not many systems are going to have High Metal Content planets but you can get good payouts when you see six or seven biologicals on a planet because often the different species are clustered together. Bacterium doesn't pay much, about 1m credits or 5m with first footfall bonus, but if it's mixed in with more lucrative species it only takes another minute to collect them. Brain Trees are found on planets with no atmosphere. And while they're not one of the big payout species, about 1.5M credits, their value lies in three things: 1. They are easy to spot from the air. They're trees. 2. If there is more than one variant on the planet they will often be found side by side. And you only have to travel 100 meters to find the next scannable tree. 3. They are a great source of materials. This requires a scanner and some patience and an SRV. Each tree has a growth that you can shoot off of it and then collect with the cargo scoop. After you shoot it, the label turns from "seed pod" or whatever to the element it contained. Carbon, nickel, vanadium, ytreum (sp?) and a few others I've seen. One major caveat with collecting materials from brain trees though: The item it drops sometimes gets stuck in the tree branches. Sometimes you can bump the tree to shake it loose, sometimes you have to use the booster to get you high enough to collect it. Any part of the SRV can touch it and collect the material but you have to be careful not to ram it too hard. I actually got my SRV so stuck that it had become part of the tree. Don't get your SRV stuck in a brain tree. Just don't. Great video again, Mile 13. Keep them coming. :)

Yeah, figured that Exo bonus was going to be sky high. Most of my billions are in Exo. Almost went with Pranav for that but just couldn't get over his psuedo-mystic-techno idealism, so went with LYR. LYR obviously read The Rational Optimist: How Prosperity Evolves, which explains well how all of humanity is better through markets.

Yaw and max maneuverability is the key to avoiding interdictions. Learn to yaw left and right at half power and you'll never be interdicted in a T-9 by anything other than real players. I routinely run with 788 tons of cargo and haven't been interdicted yet.

Little heads up. For even more merits it needs to be in Boom, the system you choose, and a refinery economy. Demand too for the ores you want. Also sell in batches of 5 to avoid bulk tax

I'm really liking PP 2.0. It gives me that extra feeling of the Bubble being alive. It also gave me purpose on trying different gameplays like settlement raids or even piracy/sabotage/hacking. The best thing .... Stronghold Defense/Attack. I can't be bothered by the merits I gain per hour, I just measure PP 2.0 in fun per hour.

Either the servers or I will go to the grave without me having pledged. I really wish that wasn't a major component to even start to mess around with PP. I guess I won't be colonizing the galaxy at 10 Ly per go either.

Quick tip, turn off auto-landing as it can take too long to land sometimes, especially in tough terrain.

Is there a higher drop rate of titan drive components on a recently deceased titan? I was at Hadad and in 3 hours had one single drop, and the game bugged out not picking it up, although it was nomore to be seen on the contacts panels. I picked up other titan commodities without issues. It was such a waste of time. Feels like I lost 3 hours of my life.

Its a shame they nerfed the hell out of the payouts for this. I loved it so much back when it was actually profitable. I still do it just for fun, but if your goal is credits per hour this is near the bottom of the efficiency list these days.

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing it, but my game will occasionally bug out and not update my inventory when I scoop things or buy or sell things. Lets me jump further than I normally should, and I just transported a Drive Component without an anti-corrosion cargo rack.

The drop rate is so fraking tedious, I gonno skip this for now, with the hope this will improve. I not gonna spend Christmas days in a dumb, stupid grind, as the brain-dead edevs want us to do... the drop rate for propulsion element is miserable, atm.
