I didnt get pitocin. I got my waters broken. It was awful. Labour went from normal length contractions, normal auses between, to looong contractions and almost zero rest. I didnt want my waters broken, but they threatened to discharge me!
No mother should have to advocate this hard in labor to make her very clear NO be heard.
The real question is,why wouldn’t you want to have the reassurance of hearing your baby’s heartbeat? I would have done that with all three of my babies.
Me confused and annoyed by random content that doesn’t seem to make sense
Right there with you Sister. Every time I question a shoulder dystochion the circumstances around it, I know almost right off the bat that there is very little probability it was an actual shoulder decision. Or Iatrogenic at best in most cases.
I'm a home birth midwife and the midwives know that especially the first time vaginal birth can sometimes take a few days or more of contracting at various intervals. The body knows what it's doing and we just keep rest and repositioning the baby top priority, but it can still be a very beautiful experience and not as daunting or unbearable as many might imagine. Birth will purposefully test the inner depths of our commitment to the process, helping us build patience, trust, and ultimately empowering us as mothers. Often times the longer births are just due to a baby with its head tipped a little bit in the birth canal... Nothing the body can't overcome, but it does take plenty of patience and good support for the mother. Most important is that she does everything she can to avoid epidural because the restriction of movement can hinder the process at times, but even then the body still can usually work through it if it's given enough time. Every mom should know about spinning babies, steep inversions, the miles circuit, and should have at least one or two educated support women by her side if she wants them. Having access to being in a tub of water during labor helps so much for The vast majority of mothers.
I swear to god RUclips videos like this are about 100x more useful than my obgyn appointments. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for tuning in!
Thank you so much for this amazing video! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
This video is so great!! Thank you for this!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for listening!
Amanda is my midwife and she's the BEST!!! i just LOVE her. so thankful to see this topic and this wonderful provider/lady on your platform. thank you!!
She's the best! Thank you for listening!
This is amazing! I love how this doctor is explaining so much of what happens during labor and how he feels the cathater blocking the baby from coming down. What is the name of the product? I don't see the website with the phases he discussed, just the donation link.
I was pushed to start pictocin from the moment I walked into the hospital. My water broke at 4pm. We went to the hospital, as advised, and I was admitted. Despite having no abnormal conditions or vital signs, and telling my nurse that I wanted to avoid intervention for as long as possible, I was pushed to allow them to start pitocin to get the baby out within 24 hours. I declined several times and finally gave in at 9 pm when I was trying to get some sleep and my contractions slowed down. So, not only was I not permitted to rest, I then received a treatment that I really didn't want out of fear of hurting my baby if he wasn't delivered within 24 hours of my water breaking. He came at 8 AM the next day (well before 24 hours post-water breaking). It really ruined the hospital experience for me.
I'm so sorry this was your experience. Having Pitocin pushed in labor is such a common story and I wish you were given the compassionate care you deserved.
Such motivation, encouraging truely emotional & brave of u. 😊
@petracruz3360 is a queen!
SO inspiring!!
I love a good VBAC!
Back in the mid-80's when I gave birth in the state of Washington, I could sue for "outrage"...and outrage did not include physical harm but did involve being treated badly! Of course, it might be different now, but there was a provision back then.
Wow, that's sooo interesting!

Thank you , I really needed to hear this positive vba3c story. 🙏
@crystalglopez91623 So happy my story was helpful for you! ❤
This was great! My mom had very traumatic hospital birth and one Uncaesarean, and two home births (home birth vbac at 47 years old). I’m so thankful my mom shared her story with me and my grandma Twilight birth stories with me. I’ve had two beautiful home birth, my first unassisted (just my mom and husband) and my second with the addition of an awesome midwife. I’m currently pregnant with baby 3 and I’m so thankful that they shared their stories with me so I could have truly enjoyable birth. I can’t wait to give birth again in March.
Wow I really enjoyed this. I didn’t do any ultrasound with my first two babies and I’m not planning on doing any with my current pregnancy. They just really felt unnecessary to me. If I had an hospital birth and ultrasound with my first I’m sure they would have pressured me to induce because he was 10lbs and 4oz and I’m not a large ladies. But we were pleasantly surprised by our beautiful big boy after a beautiful home birth. I really enjoyed the tangent in this video too. I feel like I could listen to you chat for hours
Thanks so much for listening to the show!
I appreciate the mention of the not so distant past of over treating in obstetrics. But just a reminder to anyone who is planning on giving birth in the future that it take a long time providers to change how they practice and a long time to change what is taught in medical school. So depending on your provider the distance past of over treating may be the present norm for your provider. That’s why knowing your own information is so important for going onto the birth process.
You're totally correct about it taking a long time for newly released data to become practice (I'll link an article for anyone reading along). I second being informed about your options when navigating the healthcare system. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3241518/
This episode missed the mark in so many ways. From this woman’s sexist comments about men taking paternity leave to the way she talks about women being lured into the trap of over medicalized birth. I’m so disappointed. If I was pregnant while listening to this or god forbid had had a traumatic birth I would feel horrible. I can not imagine ever trusting someone this uncaring and cruel with my pregnancy and birth goals. Compassion fatigue is real and this individual needs some help because the way she talks about birthing people is genuinely disgusting.
So good!!! Thanks so much HeHe for inviting me to be on the podcast! Keep up the good work sister!
Loved having you!
This happened to me! They told me my daughter needed to be induced because she wasn’t growing, I had weekly ultrasounds and they said she had a severe cleft palate that would need surgery and she couldn’t breastfeed. She was born perfectly healthy, no deformities.
Wow, reading this made me feel so many things! I'm so sorry that was your experience but I am so grateful your baby was born absolutely perfect.
I’m so sorry you went through this. I said a little prayer for you and your family. My first baby, my water kind of leaked, not really broke, so I went to the hospital. The dr gave me pitocin, I don’t really remember them asking me or telling me much about it, after that I had terrible contractions and then my baby went into distress. And around this time they used a device to fully break my water and come to find out they grazed my baby above the eye, almost poked his eye out, he had a horrible looking mark above his eye. They had me try to lay in all kinds of strange positions because the baby’s heart rate just kept dropping. Finally, they took me back for a c-section. I’m so blessed because my baby survived, but it was very scary and very traumatic. I’ve wondered if it was from the Pitocin. I’ve wondered why it was even necessary, why couldn’t they just let me and my baby do what came to us naturally? Thank you for sharing your story, more people need to speak up about this issue. The healthcare industry does need a complete overhaul. It needs to be non profit in my opinion or putting money over a human life will never end.
I'm so, so sorry!!! I wish you and your baby had gotten the compassionate care you deserved. I couldn't agree more with the overhaul of our system and I look forward to the day women don't have to fight so hard to have their babies.
Thank you so much for this video! I also had bandls ring and there is very, very little information about this out there. I am currently pregnant with my 2nd and praying that this time things will be smooth for baby & I 🙏🏽 My son was also on the bigger side (9.8) so I am wondering if that really IS a factor.
That must have been so scary. Such an interesting thought about the weight of your baby, isn't it? How was your second birth?
@hehestewart it was traumatic but thankful God has taken that fear away. I went into preterm labor at 20 weeks and our baby is now in heaven. I have no clue what caused my body to go into preterm labor. I haven't gotten any answers I was just told that I am healthy and so was our daughter. God is still healing my heart from this. Not sure if bandls ring left my uterus with trauma? Therfore making it difficult to hold a pregnancy? Not sure. Just a few weeks ago I had a chemical pregnancy, too. I'm not done giving up on growing our family. I'm still praying for our miracle 💗
What an absolute treat to hear Dr. Jaz speak on attunement and power in this way! Love this angle for learning how to better support birthing people across the continuum. We are all HeHe listening w a dreamy grin & letting this wisdom wash over us 🥹☺️ Thank you both for this beautiful episode!
Oh my gosh!!! What a joyous comment to receive. That put a big smile on my face! Thank you so much for listening to the show!
✨ 'promo sm'
Surprised you're so small!
Just a petite princess!
Very helpful podcast! I wish my provider would have asked me if she could give me one…instead it went more like “I’m giving you a small cut here” as she was already doing it.
I’m so sorry to hear that! You definitely deserved better care that was consensual and centered your preferences. Anytime a provider is doing something to your body, they should have a discussion with you and get full consent. Much like what Dr. K said, there is never a situation where patient consent would not be possible in the case of an episiotomy.
Thank you for this amazing interview. So many thought provoking things discussed that many people need to hear.
I'm glad it was helpful and got your wheels going! Thanks for being here!
This is exactly what happened to me I ended up with c section
Me too
You're not alone. I'm so sorry you experienced that. You deserved better.
I love the way Dr. Freeze explains the 5 "types" of risks! Definitely adding that verbiage to my B.R.A.I.N. handouts!
Yes! Dr. Rixa never fails to lay out all the facets of risks and benefits in such a digestible way.
Did you start this at 6 months? If so how did it go?
Am I pregnant? Nope. Am I breastfeeding? Nope. But juuusstttt in case one of my mama friends has issues with either of these, girl imma be ready!
What will the infection look like coming out the nipple while soaking it in hot water and Epsom salt? I’m seeing a pretty thick white substance. Thank you!!!
Such a great video!!!!
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful!!
