Thanks for this. Can you quantify ‘moderate’ vs ‘intense’ exercise, e.g. % max hr ranges.
Usually high heart rates are around 90% of maximum predicted and moderate is in the 70 to 90% range but the best way may be to monitor how your breathing. If your respiratory rate increases then you’re probably around your 70% range and if you’re breathing really heavily you’re closer to your 90% range. Just remember that these numbers are predicted numbers based on large populations and may not represent you, while your respiratory effort represents you specifically.
Thank you for this excellent discussion. I was once skeptical about the lipid hypothesis but not any more. In 2018 I had a coronary calcium scan and scored 277. This was a "tie breaker" for me and started my daily intake of 40mg of atorvastatin. I always pay attention to what Dr. Nissen has to say and am happy whenever content featuring his thoughts on heart disease shows up. I look for it every couple of months. Again, really a good, succinct and important youtube you've posted here.
