Impostor Syndrome Discussion
Join a group of mental health professional colleagues/friends as we discuss the subject of "Impostor Syndrome." Can it be worked with to bring it more into the realm of healthy or skillful doubt, humility, responsibility? Can a deeper acceptance of not having all the "answers" help? Are some folks experiencing it more than others and how can we support them?

This is a refreshingly vulnerable and intimate exchange that is rarely seen among fellow professionals let alone younger colleagues. The fact that Chris and Tyler expose their vulnerability as males in a rapidly female permeating profession adds to the significance of this candid discussion. These two explorers of inner as well as outer lives of existential-humanistic healers should not be missed by anyone aspiring to or fully immersed in our amazing and revelatory profession. -Kirk Schneider

Re: Access and accessibility, If more helpers created community-facing mental health, psychoeducational content, there could be less of a need to seek therapy because we can buffer healing. A tiered approach would help so much.

“Fraction of the cost” results in fraction of the benefit. Taking the human element away from something as critical as mental health is a huge concern. It doesn’t “fit” - we’re concerned for the mind, for the mind/body connection, for the overall health of an individual, and a preprogrammed AI response from an algorithm won’t help ("key words"). Would you have heart surgery without an actual human being in the room? Then, the vitriol coming from our own political theater has created a pandemic of hate of sorts - it’s destroying our sense of self on what being a good human is all about. What do you think will happen to the IPhone generation when they’re considering using a weapon against someone else, or against themselves? Do you think InsightTimer will help? It’s laughable, it’s frightening. It’s all greed, opportunists, ignorance - everything a touch of a button with no real thought involved. Even grad school has Grammarly. Did you not listen & learn in grade school while in writing class? No? Ok, here's a machine to think for you. Machines who tell you, "let’s build the plane while flying it!" Right. Great video, Chris. PS I like your picture - the new frame is lovely. ;)

In my novel, Above Dark Waters, (free today and tomorrow) outlines some of the dangers of what might happen if an AI Therapist can read your brain data. Check it out and see if it's something you'd be interested in.

😮 It's a bit disconcerting to say the least. But, it was great seeing the three of you! Love this video - am sharing it with classmates tonight. Hot topic of course. Honestly I don't like AI therapists - it's a band-aid with no presence, no way to enact cultural humility, lacking cohesiveness, and 'presence' - it's all repetitive focused on her responses and regurgitates pure diagnostics and popular articles. No thanks (my personal opinion). Thanks, Chris. .... your friend in TX. 😊

Love how integrable existential / humanistic (EH) therapy is with other modalities when we can truly embody a "big C" collaborative attitude & mindset. I’m glad you benefited from this talk. I know I did as well. Thank you for the book recommendation. And for making the connection between self transformation and world transformation. I believe there really can be a potent ripple effect when we deeply work on ourselves. Hope to dialogue more with you on these topics in the future .

Within the mystery of life self discovery if the will is not involved there will be no self experience but only an abstract teaching completely detached from aliveness . For the will to become alive on life self discovery , we received an opportunity within this present life condition to experience it , the reality of it is that will can never be forced , nor life intelligence . There isn't any miracle or magical recept for to discover aliveness and its will . Heart intelligence is connected to that aliveness so being raised with love is key there for

Fantastic discussion - as a (hopeful) soon-to-be-student in existential / humanistic psychology, these discussions are WAY more informative and enjoyable than you'd get from just, "the requirements." The panel has some of the greatest minds I've ever met. I'm proud to be a part of it. Note: this is NOT a paid advertisement. 🤣
