LearnSigns.com Lesson 7: Fingerspelling Practice
I think it would be more helpful if the usage videos showed example sentences for the words to really demonstrate usage, rather than just examples in spoken English. Maybe the newer videos do have that. Anyways I'm enjoying learning with these!
This was wonderful!
Very good. Thank you
Very interesting lesson. I'm enjoying it. Thank you
Thank you it really helped
Just to be sure, is that ASL ? Cause I've seen another sign for above/over and below/under for example. I'm lost now.
Although I don't know your official answer (I'm just learning ASL), I have noticed~ More than one sign exists for same words/meaning, at times. (Just like we have more than one "vocal-word" for similar meanings; ie "above" & "over" are 2 different "vocal-words" for same meaning). Also, I've noticed common-use signs do change over time (kinda like "vocal-words" slang, or most common-use "vocal-words" for a given meaning, change/update over decades; ie- "henceforth" is older less-used word for "from now on"). Since this video is 11 years old, perhaps the signs you learned are more updated (recent) versions of "above/below" ?
Thank you 😊
Thank you
AMEN an amen !!!Am so grateful to this!
Man! Talk LESS! Get to it! Some people just LOVE the sound of their own voice! 2:24 before you even begin!
Good video. God bless
Hello sir, I am having a lot of trouble with some not so easy folks and they are deaf, hard of hearing , and I think they read lips . I'm just plain old being harassed by them can you help me ? Will you help me.
this was beyond helpful. thank you!
Is "of" the genative in signing?
Have enjoyed this lesson. Excellent aid for those of us learning. Side note, in the stone age when I was in school we used "the mountain" as the preposition test. In the mountain, on the mountain. Bird is a bit nicer visual.
Thank you! Today I met a Taxi driver that is deaf and this video helped me communicate better with him!
To sign grass, rub the bottom of your palm facing upwards and curved against the bottom of your chin. Thank you so much for teaching all of us… I really appreciate it. I’m from Michigan in USA
I like Doing my practice every evening, so am enjoying this ASL video
These are signs that most churches would use in their services like a catechist time
Nice sir
Awesome and very helpful class!! Thank you!
How do you sign "LIKE" (preposition) eg Like a bridge...........
Very informative video. What makes it especially refreshing is the first ten minutes is not used up by channel logos and musical vanities; instead the entire time is used for instruction
Found This Channel On Roku Under Educational! AWESOME AWESOMENESS!
Thank you.
I'm just learning ASL. Your video is so easy to follow along. Thank you
I love it
no Sim-Comming...
Thank you so much for this awesome video!
Super clear!!!
Fantastic!!!
Here from 2021. Enjoy the videos. Love the way you break the signs down. Wish you still did videos
Hi. Can anyone help me learn the sign vocab forthis song?? ruclips.net/video/VfdTgA_9014/видео.html - Matchless by Candice Caton.
Thank you for helping us.
The signs start at around 2:45 The quick review is at around 8:44
Thankyou so much! I have learned so much with you! But I seen your videos are 7 years old or more! I would like to know what your are doing now? I learning sign language now around 7 years too. God put in my heart ❤️ to help others. I only found one deaf person name Luis Spanish like me! I haven’t found no other person! Thankyou so much again! Don’t stop is so easy to learn with you! You have a Gift from God! I still learning sign language, even thought I only have met Luis! God protect you and God bless you! And use you with his power! 😘🙏🙏🙏👍
Can you do more like this one?
I'm blessed with this video
Love how clear you are and how you connect to simple ideas.
thank you David, I am learning so much about SL
I can finger spell with some accuracy...not fast but I'm getting there. But when I am reading another person fingerspelling, even at a slow speed, the letters don't look the same to me as those that I use to spell with. I have to practice in a mirror so I can learn to recognize the letters from the other side. They DO NOT look the same to me as what I am use to seeing with my letters. When a person who has been fingerspelling for a long time is fingerspelling the letters don't seems to stand out as anything that I can recognize. It all just a big blur. I'm not around any deaf people so practicing is difficult and I have to rely on computer examples. Thanks for your help while learning ASL during the Covid-19 mess. It has kept me busy with something constructive to do.
have you still been learning asl?
My ASL 1 instructor used this video to explain giving directions while we're in this lockdown. Thanks for your video Dave
that would be chicken feet and not duck
You are losing me. To much explanation about the TYPE of church, and church variations. Stop worrying about fickle people for goodness sakes. If you missed a word, they could simply note you and ask you for it. There's no way you could cover EVERYTHING, so stop being so wordy and get to the point
This is a good lesson, well taugt
I cant find anything like this in nzsl :-(
Thank you I love how you explain how not just show. Thank you again
Sorry but you didn't sign '12' correctly. You signed 'Church' with improper hand movement. Also, please don't simcom in doing so you use improper ASL Grammar. English grammar and ASL Grammar are different. Don't speak and sign at the same time; SIMCOM.
This was edited!? You'd think you could have been polite. That is how I learned 12. As he said there are variations. If you don't like how he teaches, go somewhere else. I'd sent this as a private message if possible. But you need to learn some manners.
I find you very positive. It's nice
This one was very good and corresponds to what I'm starting to understand about sign language
