Winterland, San Francisco. Punk drove 50 miles and saw the best concert ever. I named my dog Poppy in honor of Frank. Frank Marino is too far out to explain. Many years later Grahm Parsons talked him into doing a few shows, and I was fortunately able to get my ears blasted at some club in Southern California...same place I saw one of the last concerts by Ronnie Montrose...

The connection was not ''loose'', maurice was Jagger on steroids from what I ve seen on the rare early videos. He played exactly in the same charisma vibes energy league as mick from the 1972 1973 tours. I precise, he had those vibes naturally, there are a dozen of mick impersonators today on ytbe moving and singing more simllar to Jagger but they run around copying unspontaneously while this Maurice overdid Jagger in a totally naive refreshing way which makes him as interesting as the real thing to observe. Too bad they could not land a record deal and film the early cincerts decently.

It is very true that you gotta post daily if you want to be Social Media relevant. Don't forget that FB allows you to schedule posts 2-3 weeks in advance. So select a bunch of short jokes and drop feed your time line in one sitting. The results may surprise you. I also liked the way Frank handles #hecklers.

Thanks again Jake for a great show and subject. I've been a huge Frank Marino fan for 45 yrs. Love the new DVD! Prayers for Frank and his family. 🙏 Personally I believe that in the world of today's music Spotify is Ripping off musicians paying them only pennies while they make millions of dollars from the music we created plus all the time and money that a independent artist has to invest into our home studios just to make this happen. Think about it for 1 MILLION STREAMS Spotify pays the artist only about 4 thousand dollars. Really!! if you have 10 thousand true fans that's only 1% of a Million and each fan paid the artist 99 cents for just one song alone that would pay you the indepent Artist not Spotify 10 thousand dollars. It's not far fetch in this digital era for a decent sounding artist with good original music to do this. The problem I see is we the artist have been brainwashed into believing by putting our songs onto Spotify we're going to be getting all of this exposure and making money off of the streams. WRONG! In reality It's Spotify that is making millions and millions of dollars in return paying us pennies. If we the artist would take off all of our music Spotify would go under quick and the fans would have no choice but to go to the Artist website or FB music Artist page where they can download directly from the artist site and then the Artist would rightfully have control keep the money for their music the they created. Maybe even make enough money to go on tour for the fans. Just my Spotify 2 cents opinion Lol. Take care....😎

They played at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario a lot and as students we literally grew up w them. Many of us were Stones fans so they were a real blessing. I saw them at the student pub in the fall of 1979 when they were Consilium in what would have been one of their 1st shows. Later they became the 'Blushing Brides' and played at many larger Queen's and Kingston venues, they were a favorite of our engineering class for dances. They played a massive show at Jock Harty arena for a Queens welcome back dance before the fall semester in 1983. At the time they were just like watching the Stones from the Stones 1972 tour , just an awesome band live. At their last show I believe they opened w 'Start me Up' too as 'Tattoo You' had just come out and was massively popular. They were always great musicians and performers and good to see they are still going.

I’m a Montrealer born in 1961 and I remember when the Brides played here. They played a lot. They were good and a fun bar band. I’ve seen the real Stones 5 times. And of course they were always brilliant.

Frank had a great show in the 70s. He recorded a couple pretty good LPS. He failed to re invent himself in the 80s. Maybe he should have just continued doing that same kind of show he did in the 70s. He is a great guitar player and should be more famous.
