this is how to replace the third brake light in a 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 or 2013 Cadillac CTS and CTS-V sedan. this clarifies the only difficult part which is getting the trunk latch cover off.

Documenting some warm start idling after a carburetor rebuild and much gradual adjusting. The only way to eliminate the rich idle on this 650DP was to lower the bowl level about 1/8" below where you'd normally set it. That is, to my knowledge, a reasonable solution if you have a fuel pump that is flowing a tad bit more pressure than required. A Holley 650 was the factory carb for the L79 327 so...

She was idling a little poorly, too low. Someone had fooled around with the fuel injection in the past and didn't know what they were doing.

Sweet man
4.7 sec is very very quick
If I recall correctly, the factory Holley was a 585 cfm unit. It was also a single fuel connection model and had vacuum secondaries. As you expect, a good dual plane will be an improvement.
How much to refresh it?

Do you think if u turn off the overdrive gonna be a bit faster?
Nah, not faster
@@m-c-m- cuz I also having a 94 LS and I still don’t really understand what that overdrive off for
@@kalenchung8794 it just for driving around town so it's not shifting into overdrive. Or if you're towing
@@kalenchung8794 Overdrive is just 4th gear. It's just a gear with less than 1:1 ratio, which is 4th gear. If you turn off overdrive it won't make any difference for acceleration since when you hit it, it will downshift anyways.

Nah, just failed capacitors in the ECU.
Anyone watching, order your capacitors from a place called DigiKey. Only costs about $7. Here is a shake down run after I replaced all the capacitors ruclips.net/video/sNujAZXedDg/видео.html

I know I’m a bit late but did you do anything to solve those faded needles?
Yes, I bought conductive paint and brushed the backside of them and they worked great afterwards. Google it and you'll read about guys on the Lexus forums doing that
@@m-c-m- what did you do with ecu?
@@lollol2283 replaced all the capacitors that fail with replacements from DigiKey. Don't bother trying to desolder them from that double layer breadboard you'll never be able to do it. Just snip the old ones off and solder to the old posts
@@m-c-m- thanks for advice . Really useful one👍
I just bought a 98' ls, my temp isnt moving at all and stays at C but the rest of the gauges work, took it to 2 mechanics and they ran a coolin test and sensor test, they found nothing wrong and said it drives perfectly. What could it be cause i dont wanna keep spending $$
Coolant temp sensor, water temp sensor, temperature sensor switch. All these parts you can find on parts geek and you could install them yourself. I bought a 1990 with over 200k miles a month ago. Did all the same and replaced thermostat as well.
It’s your gauge cluster itself, I had the same issue
Piston rings are causing that right?

Get one. You won't regret it. I can't speak for the Gen 2 or 3 cars, but the Gen 1 Vs are great cars. Def not perfect, but def fun and quirky. The car has the spirit of that one friend that's intimidatingly built like a tank, but silly and giggly enough to always put a smile on your face. All the best, -Luis
@@luisbalderrama8145 Do you think the 06 or 07's are better in any way i want one of these for my 20th birthday im 18 at the moment apparently they fixed the diff issues on the 06 and 07 models according to TheSmokingTire channel.
@@yungpepereacts2300 Do it! Its a great car. I miss mine dearly. To answer your questions though, I wouldn't say one is better than the other. If you can get a later one I would due to ease, but if you can get a decent earlier model with some extra bucks to spend on reliability mods, I would do that as well. The 06-07 models have the LS2 and an upgraded diff. That being said, the LS6 is a great engine and I had no complaints about it. I never drove the LS2 version to compare, but from what I see, the only difference is the torque curve, but about the same power output. For the diff, the previous owner for my car replaced the diff with an 07 model when it blew on him, so it was no worries in that sense. He said it wasn't too much of a job, but I don't know. I never had to touch the diff though. There are differential kits as well to a Ford 8.8. Solid, but pricey. If you do get an 04-05, I would make sure to check if its been done already, and if not, save up for a used 06-07 diff. If you do get an earlier one with the early diff, just know that a lot of the blowouts were due to hard usage / launching and the wheel hop that came with it. I am not sure if the older unit could handle the torque, so if you are racing it, I would replace it sooner rather than later, but if you aren't, you might be able to get away with it for a bit. In terms of ownership, one of the complaints I had with the car, and I am sure you will notice this when shopping around, is that the paint on the radio / info screen buttons, in particular the top right button, wears off very easily. It always looked just...meh. That and the cigarette lighter outlet location was odd when shifting into 5th and Reverse. If you don't use it, it shouldn't be a problem. Minor things when you consider how much car you are getting for the price, atleast for now. When you do get one, I would make sure you check for a couple things: The engine mounts and driveshaft carrier bushings. I got mine without a PPI and ended up needing to get new engine mounts ( they are fluid filled and were ruptured) and a new driveshaft (the bushings can't be removed, so I replaced the entire thing). I recommend getting a creative steel bushing kit for the shifter. It makes a pretty big difference in shifter feel. Its very rubbery stock. Also an LS7 clutch set up should you need a new clutch. I hated the clunking that the stock dual mass FW made when the car shut off. I hope this was somewhat helpful. They are great cars and I certainly hope you enjoy it when you get it. Stay safe out there, -Luis
@@yungpepereacts2300 do it. You’d want to upgrade the bushings in the casing. Creative steel has em
@@luisbalderrama8145 I know you made your comment a year ago, but I’m considering getting a 1st gen as my second car. I’ve found I love Manuel muscle sedans and it seems like a great fit, however I have reservations about having it as a daily. How’s the reliability for day to day, and how do you think it would do in the snow, as I live in Nebraska.
